Our 2 families 4 adults and 5 children aged from 7 to 15 shared this beatiful house deep in the rainforest. The adults loved the wonderful porch to sit on when the children were asleep. The children loved the pool and the pool table. A lovely tranquil retreat after jungle surfing and swimming. We were a little worried about the croc warnings on the beach at Cow Bay so didn't swim there although after asking locals maybe we were too cautious. Didnt see any cassowaries, only a couple of white tailed rats. Heard lots of lovely jungle noises during the night, fantastic!

Cairns, AustraliaA beautiful retreat in a cathedral of ancient rainforest

I was lucky to have been recommended this gorgeous retreat called Wait a While, set deep in the Daintree rainforest. From the moment I stepped out of my car I felt the weight of the world evaporate as I settled into the lush surrounds and fantastic amenities., and only 600m to the awesome Cow Bay beach. I had everything I needed my our fingertips, and a short drive for anything we needed. The accomodation is truly a treat and I loved sleeping in the loft bedroom, with it's own private balcony. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to cook up a storm, and entertain other guests.
Being surrounded by nothing but wild forest and amazing flora and fauna gave me a chance to get back in touch with nature at its finest.
Wait a While is a credit to its owners, Peter and Kerry Muller, who were fantastic in the way they made themselves available and the information they provided to ensure my stay was comfortable ... and fabulous! So thankyou guys for opening up your beautiful home and sharing it so graciously. -

Clean and a special atmosphere.
A little bit older than it looks like on the pictures. Very nice owners. -

MelbourneCow Bay - spectacular! A true getaway.
Left on 10/20/2009 for a stay in October 2009
Cow Bay was everything we hoped for and more! The house was really
spacious, clean and we loved the comfortable beds and decking! The location
is perfect, just a short stroll down to Cow Bay beach (which we thought was
definitely one of the most beautiful beaches north of the Daintree river). The
house had all the amenities you need for a relaxing getaway. Just come
prepared as there are no shops nearby but there is Cow Bay hotel and really
good organic ice cream 6km up the road! A car is pretty essential obviously...
Great service - Kerry and Peter were very helpful and attentive during our stay.
Weather - beautiful one day, perfect the next! A true getaway which helped us
totally unwind and get away from the busy side of city life in Melbourne... -

MelbourneA lovely secluded house
Left on 09/10/2009 for a stay in August 2009
We stayed here with our two year old toddler, had a fantastic time. It's quite
secluded and takes some getting to - definitely off the beaten track. But if
pleasant isolation is what you're after, this is one of the nicest choices you
could find in the Daintree. We were pretty self contained but I get the feeling
the owners would arrange anything you needed. A lovely, relaxing stay. -

Wait-a-while is a stunning property totally surrounded by the rainforest. The kids loved the pool and the snooker table and it only took 10 mins to walk to the beach ( which we mostly had to ourselves). Peter and Kerry were very helpful - only a phone call away when we needed help with the house or trips. Only words of warning ... 1.stock up on provisions before you cross the Daintree River - there is very little except forest on the other side!
2.Be prepared for only limited electrical supply - no hairdriers, straightners, microwave, toaster can be used here. Cooking is by gas and the oven is a bit tempramental!! 3.Lastly, nights are very noisy - I'm sure most rainforest creatures are nocturnal and like dancing on metal roofs!!
Seriously tho, this is a fabulous place for a real nature experience and a great chance to see the rainforest as it should be. Dont miss the night walk from cape trib - brilliant!! -

It was a million mlies from home, and being in the rain forest was scary at first. But after a few days, we got used to it, and it was an unforgetable time. I don't know if it is for everyone, but we brought our teenage sons, and it was great. The house was nice, but the owners were exceptional. They helped us plan outings, and made our trip so much better. If you have ever been on the "Jungle Cruise" at Disneyland, and wanted to jump out of the boat and live in the jungle with the natives, then this is the vacation for you.
The Daintree Rainforest is truly a one of a kind place on this earth, and Wait A While was a great place to call home while we were there.
