Thornton Beach House and Bungalows are just across the road from stunning, often isolated, Thornton Beach, one of the best beaches on the Daintree Coast.
We are nestled between The Daintree World Heritage National Park – the oldest tropical rainforest in the world – and the Great Barrier Reef. It is the only holiday accommodation at Thornton Beach.
Our Bungalows are solar powered and offer queen size bed, ensuite bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities and private verandah with views of the Coral Sea.

We had such an amazing week staying at the Thornton beach house. The house is really large, cool and airy, lovely place just to relax and listen to the rainforest behind the house or wander accross to the beach. The house was a great base to explore the beautiful Daintree, but we also really enjoyed our time at the house relaxing. The 'outdoor' bath was amazing, truly realxing. We also really enjoed bbq'ing and using the outdoor area. It was perfect for our 2 yr old also...enough room for her to run around in! Also, if you like yoga, there is a yoga retreat 5-10 minutes away that run affordable daily evening classes..this was a really special treat!

Great place to stay.
Very spacious, so much more room than it looks like in the pictures. Owners are lovely.
No TV, so bring your movies.
No privacy in the bathroom however? (no curtains etc)
Overall, great. Would go back again. -

This house is very well appointed and well maintained. Just stroll across the road to get a cappucino, go fishing or explore a lovely Daintree beach.
The house has a BBQ, well appointed kitchen, modern decore and a lovely bath which overlooks the surrounding forest.
Ourselves and our visitors enjoyed every moment of our stay and the hosts were helpful and discreet.
There are two bungalows within a few meters of the house but you dont even realise they exist.
I would definately go to Thorton beach House again .

Thornton Beachhouse is a great place to get away from it all, with no mobile phone/tv connections. Its location by a wonderful beach in the middle of the Daintree Reserve is perfectly placed to explore north and south albeit the road traffic can cause some noise (but quietens down in the evening). The accommodation is comfortable, sufficiently large for a family of 4 and we would certainly return if we are in the area. The owners were very helpful and attentive, making good recommendations and helping with bookings for local attractions.
