We often travel overseas for those once in a lifetime experiences however they can be right in front of you. A friend and I were looking for a relaxing unique experience and we certaintly found it. Sitting in the spa at night looking up into the stars was heaven and to think we were in a World Heritage area with absolute privacy.
We will be back -

A great spot to enjoy the north Queensland coast. A bit of a drive to Cape Trib, but that makes it nice & close to Mossman & Port Douglas. Awesomely comfy beds & pretty much everything you need for a self-contained holiday.

One word...awesome! The views to awaken to each morning just never ceased to take my breath away. The hot tub under the stars was the perfect end to the day, enjoying the sounds, sights and wildlife was wonderful. We were completely relaxed and didnt want to leave! Wonderful , peaceful and secluded. Perfect getaway and we have every intention to come back! Highly recommend this to couples just wanting to get away!

Lovely tranquil setting with fantastic view. Convenient location for exploring the daintree area. We particularly enjoyed the having a spa outside as the sun set with a glass of wine in hand.

The location is perfect for a quiet get-away. Fortunately there were ferry tickets in the house which we could use to visit Port Douglas, Mosman and other places. Otherwise you are stuck in Daintree which can get a bit boring if staying for a full week. For a few days, not crossing, is not a problem.
We thought the price was very steep for what you got. Nothing special except for the outside terras. Yaccouzi sounded nice but head pillows were dirty which doesn´t invite to use it. Also because of the rain forest, the house was very humid. Nothing was done to improve this. Therefore pillows, sofa, drawers, etc were very smelly.
Bathroom was very basic (plastic bath tub, etc).
Overall, I didn´t think the price was justified.Response from Daintree Views - 01/22/2011
Owner
Thank you for your feedback Tjarda, we always appreciate our guests comments.
I would like to address your concerns:
In general, people visiting the Daintree area are looking for a more relaxed and laid back experience, time to unwind and get in touch with nature - which is why we offer the secluded surrounds, massive deck, hammock and outdoor spa. However for those that do want a bit more activity, there are over 100 various activities & tours on offer from the Daintree River to Cape Tribulation. These include river/bird/crocodile tours, rainforest walks (guided and unguided), kayaking, jungle surfing, exotic fruit tasting, the Discovery Centre, fishing, horse riding, beauty treatments, yoga, motorbike tours. reef/snorkeling - lots to choose from. Many of our guests stay for a week or more and don't have enough time to fit everything in.
Daintree Views was purpose built in it's elevated position with large banks of louvers as well as french doors opening on the the veranda from all bedrooms to capture the mountain breeze and maximize airflow through the house. This also provides an abundance of natural light and is very eco friendly. Ceiling fans are fitted in all rooms. The humidity is unfortunately one of the draw backs of being surrounded by such natural beauty.
Owning, building and maintaining a house & property in this world renowned area, without access to electricity, is a very expensive exercise. We have attempt to provide you with all the comforts of home during your stay (including TV, DVD, Stereo, microwave, washing machine, dryer, spa etc) in an eco friendly and environmentally sensitive manner. You also have 20 acres of World Heritage Rainforest surrounding you, complete privacy, views to die for, stunning tropical gardens and an abundance of wildlife. The majority of our guests believe this is worth every cent.
Regards
Caroline

Daintree views certainly lives up to it's reputation. The views are magnificent and if all you wish to do is enjoy them-the hammock on the deck is the way to go.Otherwise a dip in the natural pool or the spa with great views is another option.
The home is spacious, clean and well presented.
I have no hesitation in recommending this home for a delightful getaway.

Visiting Daintree Views with a small group of great friends we were instantly taken back with the view, the position and the ambiance of this property. From the moment we walked out onto the sprawling deck the view blew us away. Add this to the natural mountain swimming hole, the magnificent outdoor spa and the peacefulness the encompasses the property we couldnt have chosen a better place to stay. The accommodation had everything we could have needed (obviously we took our own food). Highly recommended as a place to get away from it all as a couple, with friends or family, reconnect, destress and/or use as a base for touring the Daintree. We'll be back.

The wife and I stayed at Daintree Views for a week on our honeymoon. It is a fantastic place with it being a proper house (3 bdrm's), deff. better than staying in a hotel room. You can cook your own meals and there is also cafe's and restaurents if you want to eat out.
The scenery from the balcony is splendid and the noises of the forest are calming, the other residents, being gecko's, are great to watch as they come out in the evenings.
The only down side is the mosquito's but they are expected (esp. during the wet season) so prepare to have some repellent handy. Daintree Views supplies repellent coils for those suckers too.
The outdoor spa is great a little squishy if more than two people want to be in it but deff. a relaxing experience.
Daintree Views is a great get away and I recommend it, they have some great packages which include tours like bird-watching, forest walks, sea kayaking, canopy surfing etc.
Thanks for reading this review and hoepfully you'll pick Daintree Views!
cheers

Our honeymoon could not have started at a better place, privacy, views, spa and great weather. The house was great and covered all needs. The days were spent on short drives, everything we wanted to see was close with Jungle Surfing one highlight.
We thank you for the experience.

My wife and I stayed with Daintree Views for our Honeymoon and loved the experience. They have everything that we wanted from a honeymoon location. After the stress and constant planning that goes into making the wedding a memorable day we just wanted somewhere we could lay back without a single plan on the horizon.
You really do feel that you're the only people on earth at night, it's just so secluded. There are plenty of touristy things to do within an hour of the accommodation including joy-flights, go-karting, reef cruises, bike hire, etc. That said, there isn't anything 'right-next-door'.. But that's what we wanted.
If you're after an action packed week then you could probably find somewhere a bit closer to where the action lies. If, like me, you wanted somewhere away from the hustle-and-bustle then you'll love Daintree Views.
The deck is massive and the house has every ammenity you could require, full size kitchen, lounge room, dining room, three small bedrooms, bathroom, small outdoor laundry facilities and barbeque. It would be a comfortable stay for 2 couples, but such is the atmosphere of the place that I wouldn't have wanted people there ruining the serenity..
The outdoor spa is incredibly relaxing. As you can see from the photo, it seemingly hovers over the canopy of a rainforest.
The only small disappointment we had was that the on-site waterhole was dried up completely, but then again, i'm sure it would fill very quickly in the wet season. It didn't detract from our weekend.
It's only an hour from Cairns, half an hour from Port Douglas and three quarters of an hour from Cape Tribulation. The roads are good fun but could be treacherous with the way some people drove. But essentially you're far enough from people that you feel entirely secluded, but if you decide to go out for dinner it's only a half hour drive.
If you want a relaxing getaway I definitely suggest staying at Daintree views. -

This is a great place to simply hang and do nothing, and a good base to explore the area. Cracking views, hammock, outdoor spa, peace and quiet - superb!
The owner was very helpful and the only thing was missing was a bit of rain so we could see the water running on the place.

Daintree Views is a lovely property. Its expansive views induce immediate relaxation and calm. The house is unpretentious...no contrived luxuries but has practically all you need. Lovely to be away from the crowds of Port Douglas etc. It is positioned well to feel remote but you can still get to great beaches and Cape Tribulation easily by car. My family had a wonderful time here and would love to return. Maybe when the waterhole is full.
My only recommendation would be to update the kitchenware...could do with a sharp knife and maybe a bigger coffee plunger.Response from Daintree Views - 10/21/2009

Thanks Nick. The large coffee plunger did get broken and has now been replaced.

Left on 10/15/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Daintree Views was better than we'd expected. The service was low-key and unobtrusive, and yet we had everything we needed and felt very looked after.
The house was so comfortable, the views so stunning, we're still daydreaming about it, nearly two months down the track. Our favouring place was the enormous verandah, which served as dining, lounging, playing, relaxing area all at once. Being able to combine indoors and outdoors living is a treat we miss in the city!
The scenery and landscape really is quite breathtaking. We felt remote and isolated- which is what we were after- but wasn't hard to get to town for supplies when needed.
Thankyou Daintree Views for a holiday we'll never forget and hope we can repeat.

My partner and I have six kids between us. As we all know kids make alot of noise even when they are having simple fun so the thought of having twenty acres for them to run on was a great idea. The outdoor spa with the most magnificent views had to be shared out between eight of us. We live in Far North Qld and didn't know this existed. The house had more gear than we needed included all kitchen, bedding, movies etc. The water in the natural pool behind the house wasn't running at the time. Just after the wet season when all creeks are running would have been the icing on a beautiful cake! Loved it.

of facilities. Comfortable bedrooms. A magnificent deck with expansive

As a Queenslander I'm always spoilt with beaut views but Daintree Views stands out well above the rest. If R&R is what you are after well it's the place to go.It's like getting back to nature but without having to forego any of the mod cons. The only fault I can give it is that you have a hard time leaving the hammock on the verandah to go sight seeing!I'll definitely be returning.
