History is the largest of the 4 apartments in the Old School in the remote village of Dalavich on the shores of Loch Awe. The location is ideal for those wishing to explore on bike or foot and is in an area of stunning scenery and wildlife can be watched up close on one of the trails in Inverliever Forest.

Dalavich is a delightful village with shop, church and cafe on the western banks of Loch Awe, 30 miles inland from Oban. Inverliever Forest is close by with forest walks, cycle routes and nature trails where red squirrel, pine marten, osprey and golden eagles can regularly be seen, or meander up to Otter Point and Avich Falls. Loch Aw...e is the third largest freshwater loch in Scotland and some of the largest trout in Europe have been caught right here, salmon pass through the loch travelling from the River Awe to the River Orchy and the loch is home to several ruined castles on islands, one of the most photographed castles in Scotland, Kilchurn Castle, can be found at the northern end of the loch.

The Old School as the name suggests was formerly the village school but now provides comfortable accommodation for groups or families in one of the four apartments. Each named after a traditional school subject, the apartments are furnished and equipped to a high standard in an area of peace and tranquillity. The village, approached over 14 miles of single lane road with stunning scenery all the way, is the perfect base for those wanting to escape city life, you can walk or cycle for miles in any direction before coming across a shop, pub, restaurant or another human being.

The apartment is the largest, has central heating and comprises:

* Kitchen with gas oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave.

* Two double bedrooms.

* Bunk bedroom.

* Bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin and WC.

* Shared use of the laundry/drying room with washing machine and hanging racks for wet walking gear.
