Cicek is a recently converted village house set in the foothills just outside Dalyan. From the property you have a stunning view across the valley to the lake, beach, sea and a back drop of mountains - the WOW factor in an oasis of peace and relaxation.

The two double bedrooms open out onto a large balcony that runs across the width of the villa and gives gated access to the swimming pool. The twin room looks over the pool and across the village and mountains.

The downstairs is one large open plan area with a spacious kitchen dining table for eight and two sitting areas; a stone fire place for a cosy autumn evening. French door...Read more

Additional Location Information

Cicek is 20 minutes from Dalaman airport and 12 minutes drive to the river side town of Dalyan. The small town of Dalyan is situated where the Aegean and the Mediterranean seas meet, often referred to as the Turquoise coast. It is approximately half way between the famous resort towns of Marmaris and Fethiye and is in the middle of an area of outstanding natural beauty and has justifiably been so declared by the Turkish government as a 'Special Protected Area', for apart from the ecological importance of the area it is in itself one of the most attractive regions of the Turkish coastline.

The town, set by the side of the Dalyan river, connects Lake Koycegiz with the sea through a delta of lagoons and waterways surrounded by reed beds that rise to between 3 to 5 metres in height creating a mystery of their own as you take the forty minute journey by boat from the quayside in Dalyan down to the beach, with freshwater on one side of the sandbar and the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean on the other.

The Iztuzu beach was made famous by David Bellamy who led a world-wide campaign to halt a proposed development on this five mile stretch of sandy beach a precious breeding area for the loggerhead turtles. The conservation battle was won and the whole Dalyan delta turned into a wildlife sanctuary.

8 minutes drive from Cicek this uncrowded beach we would consider very safe for children and offers modest facilities and the opportunity of seeing turtles in the turtle hospital

Cicek set up in the small village of Upper Gokbel offering stunning views and a real feel for friendly rural Turkish life, so special but at the same time just a short drive into the busier life of Dalyan with its many shops and restaurants. In Gokbel we meet tortoises lumbering up the track, fireflies, storks and eagles soaring above us on the thermals and the usual lizards and geckos.
