Description

Our annexe is a self-contained single bedroom apartment (on request an extra bed could be made available), situated in the best area of Colombo: known as 'Cinnamon Gardens'. It is located in a quiet and highly residential area, and the flat is situated at the dead end of the lane.

It has close access to public roads (Buller's road, Horton Place and Ward Place), a variety of restaurants and the three largest shopping malls in Colombo as well as supermarkets. It is within walking distance from the Royal Colombo Golf Club, SSC Grounds, Mahinda Rajapaksa Performing Theater (Nelum Pokuna), the National Museum and Independence Square & Park,which are equipped with cycling lanes and walking tracks.

Gregory's Road is a highly sought after area of the city, where the Canadian, Swiss, Japanese and Australian embassies, are all situated. The British High Commission, the Chinese embassy, the Russian embassy (under construction) and Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) are located on the adjacent road.

A large collection of books covering 'Man to World' (a syntopicon of Great Books of the Western World) are available, for reference, in the apartment; which could be supplemented, on request, with books on Eastern Philosophy.

Depending on the interests, the guests could discuss Eastern philosophy and Tai Chi Qigong practice. To those who are interested in music, an acoustic guitar and a 'tabla' could be lent.

If the guests are interested, the art and science of Eastern cooking could be demonstrated using modern kitchen equipment and indigenous ingredients. How food is used as a healing method could be described according to local culture.

The kitchen is well equipped, with cooking facilities using both gas and electricity. Adequate kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery are also provided. The air-conditioned sitting cum dining room is well furnished with TV and refrigerator. The air-conditioned bedroom has an ironing-table and extra table and chairs for reading.
