This property is a delightful, semi-detached barn conversion retaining many of its original features and providing elegant accommodation for up to six people. A quiet 'get away from it all' experiance

Left on 12/05/2012 for a stay in September 2012

A friendly owner willing to help in every way.
The holiday let had most mod cons, enough to cover our needs and more than adequate for us.
The location towards the northern end of the North York Moors was perfect for walking and had extensive views of Great Fryup Dale. Within easy reach of Lealholme, Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay and other equally desirable places to see.
Lots of likes for this fairly remote place to stay and quite honestly no dislikes from our point of view.
Would recommend to anyone wanting a walking holiday or to simply enjoy a quiet peaceful location.

Peaceful, rural, beautifully quiet close to the coast and moors.

Left on 09/15/2011 for a stay in July 2011

Loved the place! A lot of thought had gone into how the property should be presented. Clearly the owner has an artistic eye which makes a good location somewhat special. It is central to everything, coast, moors and the larger seaside beaches, bays and towns.

The place is a working smallholding and I would love to take my grandchildren there when they are a little older. they can then see the chickens and horses. Maybe then they could get a ride on one of them.

Good hostess whom made time to chat1

What more could you ask for!

Idoilic...why am I not living there! The ponies are lovely!

Georgeous Cottage in an idealilic location.

Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in August 2009

The cottage was clean ,well equipped and comfortable. The location was fabulous with wonderful views across the dale. Access was a little difficult when it rained and the dirt track was water logged. Owner friendly and helpful. Smallest bedroom very small and really only suitable for children. Very enjoyable stay.

      Cosy in the Wilderness

Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in October 2009

We arrived windsweep in the darkness having visited several farms in error. Our car (finally) groaned up the steep hill in first gear, bumped over the pot holed drive, then went past a ramshack stable. By this tiem the children were getting seriosuly worried. However, as the outside lights of the cottage came on they spotted chickens and a kitten in the yard, ran into the cottage and shouted its lovely. IT WAS. We lit the log burner, had supper and slept blissfully.
Although it was in the wilds, places to visit were near - just 30 minutes to explore rockpools, explore Whitby and fossil hunt, trains at Grossmont and each night returnign to a small but warm home with a kitten at the doostep!
