We loved our vacation to Montana and our stay at the Boulder Lodge. We woke up to visiting deer every morning which was a treat for our kids who have grown up in the urban midwest. My husband and I loved the sound of the rushing creek below and we ate outside every chance we could. The cabin was clean, comfortable and perfect for our needs. We were sad to leave after our wonderful week of hiking and fishing. We will visit again when we can.

If you want to really experience Montana, then this is the right cabin for you. It is set up on top of a hill with a very nice flowing spring running beneath the cabin on the North and East side. Inside of the cabin has a very rustic feel, and made us feel just like we were at home. Fully stocked kitchen was one more compliment to this house, all new appliances and a great master bedroom. This cabin is for no city slicker, it for someone who truly loves the outdoors. Will be back this coming year, loved Montana.

Rossville, KansasBeautiful, Relaxing, Wonderfully-equipped "home away from home."

Boulder Lodge was a terrific vacation experience. The cabin accomodated 5 adults very comfortably. It was white glove clean...when we opened the door for our first night's stay, the cabin looked and smelled amazingly inviting. The kitchen and bathrooms were equipped beautifully...we love to cook, and we enjoyed several scrumptous meals at the cabin. The roar of the creek was everpresent in the background. It made for such a relaxing stay and many a great night's sleep! The drives within the area were just gorgeous...any direction you drove in offered scenic splendor. The remote mountain walks and drives were breathtaking. Their was plentiful wildlife surrounding the cabin with frequent deer grazing in the early morning hours. All in all, I would rate this vacation experience among the top vacations ever for remote, relaxing atmosphere and outstanding exposure to the wonders of nature.

The location is perfect and the cabin has all that you need. Secluded yet close enough to town. The one thing that needs to be fixed is the stairway down to the creek. We have enjoyed the creek in years past teaching our kids to fly fish but this time it was inaccessable due to the stairs deteriorating. Otherwise, the Boulder Lodge comes highly recommended.

Portland, OregonAn absolutely Delightful Place to Take in the Bitterroots.
Left on 07/18/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The Boulder Lodge completely exceeded our expectations upon arrival.
The cabin is beautifully appointed with rustic yet modern and luxurious furniture and fixtures. Woodwork throughout is just gorgeous, especially the floors. The layout of the cabin overall was perfect for our family of four with two children ages 12 and 9. My wife and I enjoyed the privacy of the upstairs master bed/bath, and the open kitchen and dining room combo really encouraged family time from making meals together to playing board games at night.
Best of all, though, is breathtaking Boulder Creek just yards downhill from the property. The cool mountain air and sound of rushing water gently working its way into our rooms at night gave me a peaceful sleep I haven't experienced in years.
The Lodge's location is also perfectly suited for anyone who enjoys short or long hikes, horseback rides, or just quiet, contemplative moments in the beautiful Bitterroots. It's close enough to charming little Darby for essentials, but also quite remote enough to provide an authentic sense of getting away from it all.
Managers Brett and Sherrie couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and accommodating to us. I got a real sense of their love and passion for the area, and that only added to our wonderful experience. We have family in Hamilton and although that's a bit of a drive back and forth, we will certainly be hoping to rent the Boulder Lodge each year as basecamp for our annual return visits.
