My husband and I had a wonderful time on the Island! We visited Gulf Shores, Fort Morgan, Fort Gaines! Went through the USS alabama in Mobile! We had a great meal at Skinners, really good fresh seafood! Barnacile Bills has great Grouper! The lighthouse resturant in Coden has great Fried Crab Claws! We would so go again!

Orange, TexasPerfect place to stay at Dauphin Island!

We really enjoyed our stay at this West Beach cabin. We went the week before Hurricane Isaac hit. I remember when we left, the storm was in the Caribbean. Hope there was no damage to this beautiful rental. It was clean and we really enjoyed the back porch. It sat right over the Gulf and the views were spectacular. The house was very clean and it had everything we needed. We had the beach to ourselves and we really enjoyed it. It was my husband and myself and our 19 year old daughter that stayed. We all had our own space. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. Hope to go back next year!

Starkville, MSQuiet fun at the beach!
Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Enjoyed the quiet slow pace of the island. One thing to note is in this house you are right on the water so may need watch little ones closer. Very prompt response from maintenence when we had a leak from the air conditioner and he was very pleasant in his attitude and very conscious about not taking long so he didn't disturb us. thank you!!
there truly isn't much on the island in the way of groceries or "resturants"--this was different for us since we usually stay at Orange Beach so we weren't as well prepared to eat in as we would be when coming down again. I was also a little concerned that there isn't any emergency clinic closer than Mobile Infirmary and wonder if that shouldn't be addressed by the Mayor and Town Council.
i loved being able to walk on the beach and not have so many people around. The balcony overlooking the water was great. the house was very well maintained and had a great layout for our family--we didn't feel like we were stepping on each other cause there is plenty of room.
What we liked least The "no see-ums"!!! those pesky little flies werepretty bad while we were there.
Overall--really good vacation, very nice accomodations, and the rental company doa great job answering questions, promptly and making sure you have what you need (if you know what you need) and do anticipate questions and needs well also. Thank you! -

Memphis, TNAmazing beach house!!
Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in May 2012
My family thoroughly enjoyed this beach house and island!! It was exactly what we were looking for and more! We could watch sting rays, all kinds of schools of fish, numerous dolphins following shrimp boats, and even a shark from the balcony overlooking into the water! The house was extremely clean and we loved the open floor plan! The owner came right over when we had a small issue with an appliance and had it fixed immediately. He was very polite and kind. It was an awesome experience for our entire family and one we will remember for years to come! We have already booked again!!!

Trenton, TNFabulous Family Vacation Spot!!
Left on 05/31/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We have 3 daughters ranging in ages from 18-20 and this place was perfect for us! With only two houses between us and the public beach on one side and the next lot being empty, we had one side of the beach to ourselves the entire week, and yet we were still close enough to "town" to be there in just a few short minutes.
The house was great! There were plenty of sheets, towels and extra blankets and someone had even left a few extra cleaning and washing supplies behind. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking except for some storage containers with lids for leftovers. We really appreciated the beach chairs that were provided as well as the sand castle building stuff that we used for sand sculptures.
We were at the house for a week and never left the island except for going on the ferry to visit Fort Morgan. Everything we needed could be found somewhere right on the island. Plenty of things for us and the kids to do without all the crowds. We went to the Sea Lab, Fort Gaines and Fort Morgan, Parasailing, frequented all the shops and most of the eating establishments and dolphin watched off the front porch just to mention a few things.
We loved everything about our stay except for having to leave! We will definitely be back!

The house was right on the Gulf. The owners have put much thought into making the house comfortable for guests. The covered deck was excellent.
The two front bedrooms look out on the Gulf and you can hear the surf at night.
Note: there is a house directly behind this house about 40 feet away but nothing but sand and water on each side. -

Frankfort, ILMost awesome experience!
Left on 03/01/2012 for a stay in February 2012
My family and I had the best experience staying at West Beach. We came down for Mardi Gras and weren't disappointed. I have vacationed in Dauphin 4 times now and this was one of the best homes we have stayed in. We were able to watch dolphins frolicking right from the porch of this home, and fall asleep every night listening to the crash of the waves. David and Nancy answered questions and emails promptly. The home was everything described and more. I would recommend this home and Dauphin Island rental to anyone looking for a great experience in every sense of the word!
