My husband and I took 3 teenagers and stayed on the beach in this condo, #702 at the Sand Dollar Condominiums. The place was very clean, the beds were comfortable and everything worked as expected. The master bedroom/bath is really nice! My son said the pull out couch was comfortable. There were beach chairs, an umbrella, a small cooler and some beach toys available for use on the beach. Security is very high with an underground parking garage and keypad entry from the beach. Its a great location - close to grocery stores and some restaurants. The balcony was large and had a great view directly facing the ocean. The beach in this area is clean and beautiful.
The kitchen had been remodeled and was nice with new appliances. There were plenty of plates, glasses and silverware for 5 of us. A large frying pan would have been good to have for some of the cooking I did. There was only a small one. There is no BBQ grill on the property that we could find.
There were plenty of bath towels but not many large beach towels. We did bring one beach towel each and were glad we did. Laundry machines were large and worked fine.
The one downside was that there was construction being done on the building and also on the building next door. They started at 8 am and worked all day. It was noisy and annoying and could be heard even on the beach. So we didn't sleep too late in the morning. Since we weren't in the condo much during the day it wasn't a big problem. We noticed a lot of construction in the general area. Something to consider if planning to go during off season. -

I feel so fortunate to have come across this condo when looking for a place to vacation. It was absolutely wonderful. Clean and comfortable with an amazing deck overlooking the atlantic. Unit has everything you'll need -- fully equiped kitchen, comfy beds, 3 nice Tv's, beach chairs/umbrella/coolers/towels/toys. Owner is great to deal with. Terrific location. You can walk on a gorgeous beach for miles or play in the ocean perfect for swimming. It takes about 2 minutes to go from the room to the water! Great restaurants and plenty to do in the area. You'll never want to leave!

The condo is just as stated, clean, comfortable, and everything you need is furnished. The owner's attention to comfort is second to none. The balcony over looking the ocean is really an added bonus we thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunrises there.
Dealing with the condo owner was easy and efficient. He was very helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we were accommodated in everyway.
The managers' of the condo however, their attitude gave us the impression they do not like renters. They have strict rules that they enforce (and sometimes not very politely) i.e.: shirts or cover-ups and shoes must be worn inside the building at all times, even going from room to pool or the beach. The $50. charge to let us in our condo after locking the keys inside seemed a little extreme, in all fairness I believe I might have been warned about the fee, but let's face it, we were on vacation and it was the first day. We were told, however, the next time was free (isn't that backwards? Shouldn't they have opened the door free the first time and then warned us of a $50 fee next time?).
All things considered we had a great time.

The room is very nice and well kept!! Sits on the beach and the view is unbelievable! We had several friends stay at places close, while we were there. We visited their places and was stunned, they were nice but dated and they had high reviews!! No comparison to this room! I felt like I became close to Juan through our phone conversations. This was a wonderful experience and we will be back in room 1803 next year! I highly recommend this room! You will too! Thanks Juan my wife and daughters had a great time!

This is a beautiful, clean, well decorated, large condo. The owner was so helpful as we had never rented a condo before. Everything we needed or could imagine was there. Very secure and safe. Restaurants and grocery store close. We are so grateful to have found this and plan on another stay. Thanks Mr Fernandez!!!

I have visited Daytona off and on for roughly 20 years, and my week in this condo was the most comfortable trip that I have ever made. The secure/private nature of the building makes you feel safe, the secure parking makes access easy and quick, the absolute attention to cleanliness, and the "homey” décor of the condo makes you realize that you are renting from folks who love the beach, and want to make your trip enjoyable! The Fernandez's have put a lot of heart and soul into this condo, and it very clear! I found myself saying "Wow”, many times as I realized the things they had thought of. Everything that you need is available to you from the kitchen to the utility room to the linens. The balcony is utterly amazing and it made our vacation so much better feeling as though we were staying with friends! Thank you Juan for ending our summer with such a wonderful property! I hope to return again soon!

This type of appreciation is what makes us keep on improving our condo at every opportunity we get. Instead of maximizing our profit and letting the unit slowly deteriorate we put back as much as possible, Next month for instance we will be installing a brand new kitchen with granite counter tops. The bathrooms were just remodeled last week! The condo will soon have nothing to envy one built yesterday.

My family (wife, 18 year old son, and 80+ year old mother-in-law) stayed a week in unit 702 at the Sand Dollar Condominiums in Daytona Beach Shores Florida in May 2011. Everybody had a great time! Unit 702 was very nice. The unit was decorated like a comfortable, well cared for second home with clean, attractive and comfortable furniture, a clean and ready to use kitchen, and clean bedrooms and bathrooms. There was even coffee and filters, paper towels, toilet paper, and dish, dishwasher and clothes soap enough to hold us over until we could get to a grocery store! The large balcony off the master bedroom and den is directly on the beach and the 7th floor views of Daytona Beach and the atlantic Ocean are awesome. From the balcony you can watch your friends and family playing on the beach, swimming in the pool, or relaxing in the hot tub. The sunrise over the atlantic was beautiful with pelicans, sand pipers, and dolphin gracing the scene most mornings. The view of sunset over the Halifax River was wonderful. We bicycled, swam, boogie boarded, snorkeled, kayaked, paddle boated, hiked, and watched and photographed birds, dolphin, turtles, and manatee at several springs (Sliver Glen, Salt, DeLeon, and Blue) and in the ocean. We cooked pancakes at our table at DeLeon Springs, played at a Disney water park, and ate wonderful seafood meals all within walking, cycling and driving distance no more than 5 - 60 minutes from the condo. The unit had nice televisions, a good selection of channels, a DVD player with many movies, wireless Internet service, washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, and stove/oven. The owner was friendly, accommodating and easy to work with. We'd stay here again, and would recommend it to friends and family.

The Sand Dollar condominium is my favorite place in Daytona Beach Shores. I have stayed in this condo for 20+ years. Juan Fernandez has made excellent improvements to the condo. It's a wonderful place to spend relaxing, quality time. The balcony is most enjoyable. Often the dolphins swim by as I enjoy my morning coffee. It's a wonderful place. I think of it as a 'second home'. Even by myself, I feel very comfortable.

This condo is located in Daytona Beach Shores which is a lot less crowded than being in the middle of everything at the Boardwalk. The condo is decorated beautifully and is a wonderful home away from home. We have plenty of room when we come there and enjoy our vacation tremendously. Sitting on the balcony that is oceanfront is breathtaking!
