Newark, DelawareVery nice resort hotel
Left on 05/12/2013 for a stay in May 2013
Other than Daytona being a bit on the redneck side of life (so many smokers!, so many tattoos, so many overweight people), we had a pleasant stay the first week of May 2013. The beach and pools were perfect for relaxing. This hotel was perfect for our family because of being so accessible to the beach. We enjoyed the board walk right outside the pool area.
We ate at many of the Seafood restaurants in the area. Our favorite two were the North Turn and the Inlet Marina.
Activities beyond the hotel: Go to Daytona speedway-we aren't even Nascar fans and we thoroughly enjoyed this 90 minute tour. Go to the Ponce lighthouse and climb the 203 steps for a great view of the area. Take a Fanboat ride on the Johns River-we did Gator Hunters-our guide explained everything well.
Our room's free wireless was unreliable, but I could get it in the lobby. -

Our vacation at Daytona Beach was at the start of spring break. Our room was on the 11th floor which was high enough that we couldn't hear the spring breakers in the pools. Accommodations were very comfortable, spacious, and with the necessary kitchen equipment typical of WorldMark. With wi-fi available, I was able to do some work early in the morning while watching the sunrise. The rest of the day was spent either on the beach or strolling along Ocean Walk or just plain relaxing.

my boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and besides the view we were not very satisfied. When we went to the front desk a lady named Jodi checked us in, she wasn't very nice, she wasn't mean but some of the questions we asked she came back with very short cut answers like she was very bored answering these questions. we walked up to our room which was very spacious with a living room area and the bedroom all the way down the hall. In this hotel if you want maid service you have to call to the front desk and they don't even have coffee packets in the room for you to make coffee! like I said the view of course was nice but everything else wasn't good enough for me to come back.

This is a timeshare rental..not a hotel. There is not daily maid service as in a hotel. The room should be equipped with a starter pack of coffee/ popcorn, salt and pepper and coffee filters.....and if there wasnt any , the resort would have provided upon you noticing that.

Great Vacation!
Left on 08/21/2012 for a stay in August 2012
My family and I stayed at this resort right on the beach. We had a 2 bedroom lockoff. I stayed in one side and my daughter, son-in-law, and their daughter and friend stayed in the other side. We used my side to cook our meals and watch t.v. when we were inside which wasn't too often. Everything was great. We did have a problem with the blender but called and had it replaced within the hour. We had an ocean view which wasn't bad but I would have loved an ocean front view if it would have been available. Had I known that I could have requested that when I made my reservations I would have had one. They don't tell you this when you book. I tried to switch rooms when I arrived but there were none available. I was told if one came open during the week we could move to it. The pools were great, but if you go a little later in the morning you may have a hard time finding a lounge chair. We just walked around until one came open. No big deal! Only complaint was that the one hot tub didn't work but there were two others that we used. Everyone at the resort was very helpful and we had a great bartender at the Turtle's Nest at the pool. If you like excitement every evening, then this is the place to stay. Right next to great restaurants and concerts on weekends. We were on the 15th floor and never had a problem with the music or noise outside. Daytona is a great place to go if you like to have a good time. Lots of entertainment around and on the weekends the Flea Market is a great place to go for gifts for family and friends. I know my grandaughter and her friend had a great time. At age 15 there were plenty of boys to look at!! The resort had a dance and sing along on Friday evening and had a lot of games and entertainment during the day. Only annoying thing was the internet service. We had none for 4 days! There was a problem with the satilite in space and we had no service in our rooms. But you could go to the lobby or the rec room and they had internet. Other than that we had no complaints!

60933Could Have Been Great
Left on 05/26/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This is a large resort with many amenities: 2 pools, kid pool, game room, etc...Overall, the resort is maintained very well. I'm sure the ocean front rooms are very nice, with a lovely view of the ocean. However, the unit I stayed in was an ocean view, meaning it was located on the side of the building. The view from my balcony was of the rooftop and noisy air conditioners of the building next door. The unit was very nice-sized, with two large bedrooms, a large master bath and a full bath for the second bedroom as well. Why it "could" have been great? The view, the furniture was somewhat worn and had spots, and they assigned us a handicapped unit without advising us of that fact. This meant there were no cupboards under the kitchen and master bath sinks. Another aspect of this resort is the crowded conditions at the pools. Because the pool decks are not very large, there is not enough room for enough chairs for the number of guests. It is very difficult to find empty chairs, and again, because the pool deck around the pools is small, it always feels very crowded, and not very relaxing to just lounge around the pool.
It was difficult to rate this resort, as I'm sure there are units that have a wonderful view and the furniture, etc. is in better condition. It just so happens that the unit I was assigned was not that great. -

Beautiful resort on the Beach. Everything you needed was there, restaurants ,stores souviner shops all within walking distance. Resort was crowded, but we traveled during spring break for families. Accommodations were nice, the beds could have been a little more comfortable, and the living room sofa bed was just not suitable, the cushions kept sliding off when you sat. Something just wasn't right. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Had a great stay!

Our family was looking for a quick get away. I usually look for something quieter, off the beaten path but I quickly realized that due to spring break my usual places were booked. We tried the "Ocean Walk". It is very large and busy but the amenities and convenience made our stay worth it. Our room was absolutely beautiful. 3 bedroom, 2 bath ocean view. The pool area was beautiful with a little water slide and a variety of hot tubs. The beach was easy to get to. I loved that there were lots of little shops and restaurants really close by. I would say that this "area" is the heart of Daytona Beach. I also loved having a full kitchen and laundry in the room. It made things so easy. Just know that at certain times of the day the elevator wait can be long.

This condo worked really well for our extended family. The open floor plan was great when everyone wanted to be together and the separate bedroom/bathroom wings each with televisions and a view, were great for time alone. We had two 6 month old infants with our group and it was great for them to have a quiet, separate bedroom for naps. The babies loved having their baths together, with mom and dad, in the large jacuzzi tub. The view from the 24th floor is amazing!!! (sometimes the elevators were slow and it took awhile to get where you wanted to go). The thing that impressed us most was that the resort and surrounding area was great for all age groups (families, spring breakers, small children, teenages, couples, retired folks) - there was something for everyone to do. The condo was clean and had everything we needed - Publix is 3 miles away. The only negatives were that the pool bar had a very limited time for serving food and they didn't have many of things that were posted on the menu - they also ran out of some common drinks and beer. You had to "reserve" a pool chair by 9 a.m. or you wouldn't get one. Also, the neighborhood seemed a bit questionable at night, lots of sirens, loud music booming from passerbys, arrests, etc. One night, a shop across the street had the glass door shattered. If you stayed at the hotel it felt very safe but going out after dark may be a little iffy. On a positive note, there appeared to be a pretty heavy police presence. Check in at the hotel took a very long time (and we came on a Sunday afternoon thinking that would be better than Saturday) - they definitely need to come up with a more efficient check in process. It also took some effort to find our check in information. People at the desk were very friendly. The lazy river was very cold as was the toddler/small child pool area (this should be warmer for the little preschoolers). It would be nice if the condo management left some dishwasher soap for a load or two.

ohiochristmas at the beach
Left on 01/13/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We had a timeshare rental at the Oceanwalk the week of Dec. 24- Dec. 30th. We were excited to go spend time at the beach for the first time ever at christmas.
We were welcomed by a host of security when we arrived. They were extremely helpful in where we should park and where to go in to check in. We arrived around noon and knew we would have to wait for our room. We at next door at Sloppy Joes.
We got into our room around 1! Our room was not an oceanfront, but oceanview and was beautiful with amazing views of the ocean and the city.We were in room 1920.
We had 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a full kitchen and plenty of room for all 5 of us. The unit was clean and open.
The temp. that week was in the 60's - 70's. We spent every chance we could down at the pools. The big pools were heated so the kids swam everyday. The hot tub was a big hit during our stay! The lazy river was not heated so the kids did not venture into that very often!!! We did experience the afternoon shade from the hotel, so we usually headed down to the ocean to be in the sun a little longer.
The hotel offered many activities for the kids. Therwas a game room that the kids played in often. They had an activity center that included childcare, computers, crafts, and much more. In the lounge there were activities for families like Kareoke and games. In the activity center there are board games you can sign out. We also used the Blockbuster kiosk to get dvd's for our room!
In the evening we would walk around downtown. Next to the Oceanwalk is a complex with restaurants and shops. We went there a couple of times. So nice that it was right next door!
Every night the kids would go down to the pool for night swimming. this was their favorite! The pool was warm and most of the moms and dads got to sit and enjoy the evening watching at the pool!
The sunrises were beautiful and the ocean was so relaxing.
Also, during the week of christmas, there were christmas activities and on christmas eve, they had elves doing some of Santa's work! :)
We had a wonderful time at the Oceanwalk. If we would go back to Daytona, we would stay here! -

Toronto, CanadaGood place to stay that used to be great. Staff need to be more
Left on 09/15/2011 for a stay in September 2011
I vacationed with all age groups, 5 yrs to 55 years. Stayed previously had a great time using all they had to offer. They have a schedule of activities that they run for the week and they promote them some you sign up for and otheres you just attend. Every activity that we were going to utilize for some reason or another they cancelled. Before we speant many hours playing water volleyball, sending children to activities, watching the dive-in movie (the hotel put up a big screen near the pool and have a movie at night and everyone gets loungers and watches movies like a drive in). There were two nights on our vacation that they advertised. The first night they decided to show it inside for some reason, the weather was great but I think staff were too lazy to set it up. The second night they didn't do it at all. Water volleyball in previous years was continuous, this year I asked to have the net set up and the response from the young girl was "last week someone broke it by hanging off it so we sent it for repair when it came back we put it back up and again they broke it so we had it repaired and I'm not putting it back up". That makes total sense because the people vacationing on our week were not there the week previous and why would you fix something and keep it in a box. Who knows, I'm 51 I think I'm responsible enough to play volleyball. We wanted to purchase an extra parking spot as we had two cars. You'd think we were asking for a new car. We offered to pay for the spot. They told us to park the second vehicle at the Hilton and pay them. So we did, thinking that they must be extremely short of parking spots for that week. Were they you ask, absoloutely not!!! The parking lot did not even have a 10th of it full. Don't understand why they did not want our money so we paid the Hilton. In the past the grounds and the pool had been extremely clean, not this time I was going to complain but I didn't have to because the Inspector came the following day and had the whole place hopping. I guess someone else complained. Would I stay again, probably because it is right on the ocean with oceanwalk village attached. We seen a great band and loved the fireworks on the pier. Daytona Beach itself looked a little vacant and the entire area needs updating. If they dont update the area soon I would hesitate to bring a family there. Places I go to bi-annually are now looking seedy. Security may become an issue.
