      beautiful, peaceful home-from-home

Left on 07/18/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Set just under the church at Deia, this is the perfect spot for pretending to be one of the lucky locals who live in this delightful part of Mallorca. We came to hike in the Tramuntana Mountains and this house made for the best base, with loads of restaurants nearby, a wonderful terrace garden to eat/relax in, a super comfortable living room with open fire and a huge kitchen and dining room. The main bedroom is very lovely and boutiquey but the second bedroom is very small, with no en suite. Sleeping downstairs in the living room (where there is also a second bathroom) would probably be a more comfortable option for a family with children. Deia itself is very pretty but quite chichi (ie expensive) and there are not many swimming options. The local beach is tiny and gets packed, but there are many others up and down the coast, accessible by car or the regular, reliable coastal bus that stops 5 mins from the house. If you want to make the most of the cooking facilities and lovely terrace dining space, stock up on supplies at a supermarket in Palma or the Sunday market at Valldemossa.

      A magical place to stay

Left on 11/05/2011 for a stay in October 2011

This is a wonderful place to stay right at the top of the hill in Deia near to the ancient Church. The view from the terrace of the mountains is enchanting. It was a lovely place to relax in the warm October sunshine beneath the almond trees. This is a special house at the heart of the village where you feel very welcomed.
We loved walking to Cala Deia where we had a sunny but windswept lunch overlooking the cove. We enjoyed a visit to Ca N'Alluny, the home of the poet and author, Robert Graves which was inspiring. We visited Soller and swam in the sea from the local beach. We tried some of the great restaurants and specially enjoyed the simple but delicious meals at the Village Cafe and were very impressed by the wonderful service and amazing cuisine at Sebastians.
We loved this holiday and returned relaxed and feeling very much fitter even after a stay which seemed too short...

      Perfect Hilltop retreat

Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in August 2011

A fantastic house in a stunning setting. Sitting at the top of a hill overseeing the beautiful village of Deia, the house has been tastefully renovated and felt like a home away from home. On arrival we were surprised how big the house was and thankful for the air con in the bedrooms. The house had all the 'mod-cons' we needed and more.
We spent many evenings enjoying the views from terrace.

A short walk from the house is a large selection of restaurants and two small grocery stores. We also found a good bus service to both Soller and Palma. The beach in Deia is well worth a visit.

Would definately return to the house and Deia in the future.

      The best holiday ever

Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in May 2010

This beautiful Mallorcan House is in a fabulous location in Deia, Mallorca. It has the perfect traditional / contemporary balance.

Tastefully decorated with a contemporary feel and some artwork by the surrealist painter arturo Rhodes.

It is larger than I expected, fantastic outdoor area to dine, large living room, wonderful master bedroom. The spare room is small but nice. The kitchen is fab with another great downstairs bathroom. The house also has a very peaceful garden with lovely flowers and a lemon tree.

You can not see the ocean from the villa however its only a short walk away to the stunning crystal clear water and a very short walk into the inspiring village of Deia.

To top it all off the manager Michael Hardy is a pleasure to deal with. My only regret is that I don't live there ...

Can't wait to go again and highly recommend this Villa.

Beautiful house and garden in a fantastic location with great views of the hills and valley. The owner was more than helpful when we booked and with a couple of questions while we were away. Plenty of happy memories and we all want to go back.

Stylish, charming house with great views in a lovely village

Left on 08/28/2010 for a stay in August 2010

      Dear travellers,

I can highly recommend renting this house in Deia. It is really charming, with a lot of character. There are amazing views onto the mountains from every room. The terrace is fabulous. It is tastefully decorated and has everything you need. It is particularly good for small children, once you've taken the lovely bowls etc. from low places and put them in high ones (!), since children making noise in the kitchen/dining area cannot be heard from the bedroom. (Adversely, everything can be heard from the television/living area). There is also a high chair and lovely cot to make life easier.

Despite no specific parking area, we never once had a problem parking at the church 2 minutes away in the height of the tourist season.

The owners seem keen to want guests to enjoy themselves so rental is not impersonal.

      Enjoy!

      Hill-top gem

Left on 08/24/2010 for a stay in July 2010

This tastefully modernised tradtional Mallorcan house commands an excellent hill-top location in the peaceful and idyllic village of Deia.Serving as a "home from home" for the owners, it is very well-equipped and maintained. It has one double and one single bedroom and is ideal for up to 3 adults or for a family with one or two children. Unusually for Deia, it has a terraced garden as well as an excellent terrace. Every room enjoys spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

Deia itself is served by excellent restaurants and 2 mini-markets. The local bus service is frequent, cheap and confortable, making car hire unnecessary for those who, like us, wanted a complete break from the hustle and bustle of life.

The owners could not have been more helpful. They have created a beatiful home, of which thye are proud but they are neither fussy nor intrusive in any way.

We have rented many properties in and around the Med over the past 30 years and this is as good as it gets, if you are not bothered about having a pool (of which there are very few in Deia).

We had a gorgeous time staying here. The house is wonderful, great vibes throughout, a traditional villa with modern appliances so you get the old feel with the comforts of modern living. Bigger than expected, nicely decorated with exceptional artwork about the place. Large outdoor area and a beautiful garden. My only regret is I don't live there full time - we will be back asap and as often as possible. I highly recommend staying here, its such a great property and lovely owners.
