Winter or Summer, Megeve in the French Alps is a perfect place to visit.

Within the Jardin Alpin development of 5 chalets sits our very own chalet. It's only 900m from the center of Megève, one of the most popular resorts in France.

The chalet is impeccably finished with a well equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms and a sofa bed to accommodate a total of 8 people. The master double bedroom has an en suite shower room. Both the master and second double bedroom boast a balcony to enjoy the mountain and pasture views. The third bedroom has 2 single beds.

  Beautiful chalet in a great location

  We had a great time in Megeve. The chalet is really really lovely! Valerie (manages the property) was very helpful and very friendly. We only have positive feedback on the chalet and on Valerie! She was there to meet us as we arrived and had asked us ahead if we wanted any basics such and milk, bread, butter etc which was a nice touch. Whilst the supermarkets are very convenient there not the first place you want to visit and this way you don't have to.
  
  6 of us in total stayed in the chalet however can easily sleep 8. We went in the off season so it was quiet and was just before the snow fall but was the perfect place to relax for the week.
  
  The chalet comes well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and it has a dishwasher which was great! There is a fire place with plenty of wood to keep you going, comfy chairs and a sofa bed in the lounge. There is also a tv with a DVD player and wifi, it really does have everything.
  
  Upstairs you have the 3 double bedrooms (one with on-suite) and another bathroom. The showers are powerful and the water was always hot, the main bathroom also had a jacuzzi bath!
  
  As mentioned earlier, the chalet is in close proximity to 2 supermarkets (€10 for 24 beers went down well), it is also in walking distance of the centre of the village and the bus station. We went in the off season however there was still plenty of places open during the day. Really nice village, would love to go back when the Xmas decorations are up as there is a huge Xmas tree in the centre of the village square.
  
  As well as Megeve itself, there are plenty of places to go such as chamonix which is beautiful plus you get stunning views of Mont Blanc.
  
  Overall the chalet was homely and spacious enough for the 6 of us and we all had a fab time and were sad to leave.

  Great Summer Experience in a beautiful location and well appoint

  In the summer of 2007, 7 of us spent a great 2 weeks in Megeve. There is so much to do in the Town and adjoining areas. The Chalet is ideally located only a short walk from the local Casino supermarket, yes it is a supermarket not a gambling den. You can get all your meat, veg, fresh bread etc from here and some very reasonably priced wines and beers etc., as well as fantastic cakes and pastries. In the opposite direction the centre of the town is only a 10 minute walk away with great shops and numerous restaurants who all speak English. The surrounding area is great for hiking and I would expect it to be great for skiing in the winter with plenty of lifts etc. The chalet was very well appointed, clean and very comfortable, even with a bubble bath which the kids thought was great fun. The cooking facilities etc were adequate for us to cater for 7 of us with a dishwasher so we didn't need to spend too much time washing up and could get out and explore the surrounding area. From Megeve there are a number of wonderful trips within easy reach such as Chamonix with its cable car to the top of Mount Blanc with its ice cave, the lake at Annecy and the town is also a must with its exciting drive over the mountains. The kids had a great time swimming in the lake and there was also the possibility to hire a boat if you were so inclined. The possibility of also visiting Geneva and the lake was also on our list but we just didn't have sufficient time. The sports centre in Megeve also provided us with an opportunity to try out the wonderful swimming pool. The summer luge also proved to be a great success for the younger members of our party, it must be really hair raising ride in the winter. All in all a great chalet in a great location and we are pleased that it is back again for renting, we have already booked again for 2 weeks this summer (2010)
