The Hornby Island View house is situated on low bank oceanfront with a 270 degree view of the east side of Denman Island, across to Hornby Island and the Coast Mountain Range. Kitchen, dining, and living areas as well as the master bedroom take advantage of these incredible vistas. Summertime picnics on the deck or the beach give way to roasting chestnuts in the fire on chilly evenings during fall and winter. Enjoy a private cove with 600 feet of oceanfront. Explore the tide pools along sandstone and conglomerate shoreline stretching for miles both north and south. This cozy three bedroom rancher is an ideal retreat and base for island advent...ures any time of the year.

Surrounded by Arbutus, Cedar, and Fir, you will experience true West Coast habitat, complete with calls from resident bald eagles. Deer abound on Denman Island and you are likely to see otters, sea lions, and seals in the cove. As well, shore birds such as grebes, herons, mergansers, loons, and Canada geese frequent the area.

Day trips to Hornby Island a ten minute ferry ride, the terminal is an 8 minute walk away open up more opportunities to enjoy nature, adventure and culture in our unique Gulf Islands. The sandy beaches at Tribune and Whaling Station Bay are world famous and Helliwell Provincial Park is home to the northernmost species of protected Garry Oak trees. Walking, hiking, and mountain biking are great ways to explore both islands. Canoeing and kayaking are also peaceful ways to check out Tree Island Marine Park and Boyle Point Lighthouse on Denman or Heron Rocks on Hornby. Motorboats and fishing charters are available for those who want to travel further afield by water.

Explore the Comox Valley while staying on Denman Island as the ferry service is only a 10 minute ride to Vancouver Island. You can experience a day skiing on Mt. Washington in the morning and golfing on the same day in the afternoon in the Comox Valley. Plenty of shopping, summer markets, festivals, and attractions abound in the region. Cities of Comox and Courtenay have all your day to day needs.

There is a beautiful, green island-chain between Vancouver Island and the Mainland. It's called The Gulf Islands; despite (when viewing the area on a map) there is no sign of a gulf anywhere in the vicinity…
Why? Because during the Age of Exploration an inaccurate presumption made by the first European seafarers to the area lead to the belief that the Strait of Georgia was an enclosed body of water. Misnomer aside, the Gulf and its picturesque islands are one of British Columbia's most popular destination points. With a temperate climate, and sparkling waters, this pseudo-Mediterranean corner of Canada offers some of the most unique island getaways on the Pacific Coast. In total, 14 islands comprise the Gulf Islands: the southern islands of Gabriola, Galiano, Kuper, Mayne, North and South Pender, Saltspring, Saturna, Thetis and Valdes as well as the northern islands of Denman, Hornby, Lasqueti and Texada.
The islands and ocean are rich with flora and sea life. In fact, due to the abundance of Garry oaks, wild lilies, kelp beds and Orca whales, Parks Canada established the area as the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve in 2003. Some of these islands are quieter and primarily populated by residents while others are popular with visiting tourists and summer-cottage dwellers. Either way, most are accessible by either ferry or floatplane and each has a distinct flavor that sets it apart from its neighbours...
