This detached cottage in Dent sleeps six people in three bedrooms. Congregational Manse is a detached Grade II listed cottage in the village of Dent. The cottage has two king-size double rooms and a twin room. It also has a bathroom with roll-top bath complete with body jets and a separate shower cubicle. Downstairs is a kitchen with dining area and woodburner, a sitting room with woodburner, a snug with a woodburner, and a conservatory. Outside, two permits are provided for parking in a local car park, and there are patios to the front and rear, including a water feature at the front. Congregational Manse is a charming character cottage in... a beautiful spot, convenient for the Lakes and the Dales and surrounded by good walking and stunning scenery.

Amenities: Electric heating in hall, sitting room, kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom with woodburning stoves in kitchen, sitting room and snug. Range oven, steam oven, conventional oven with induction hob, microwave, fridge, freezer with ice maker, wine fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, WiFi, telephone (incoming calls only), selection of books and games. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburning stoves inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Permits provided for 2 cars in car park 3 mins walk from property. Front and rear enclosed patios with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 2 mins walk. Note: There is a water feature on the front patio, children should be supervised at all times. Note: Check in 4pm.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.   The Congregational Manse a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of life in the 21st Century. We visited in the winter and were able to take full advantage of all the wood burners. The cottage was beautifully warm and cosy. It is furnished to an extremely high standard and the kitchen is wonderful, being equipped to a level far in excess of any other cottage I have ever stayed in.
  Dent is a very attractive village and the cottage is in a very quiet location.

  First Impressions deceive

  We rented this property from 23 February 2013 until 2nd March 2013.This property is beautifully decorated, and very tastefully appointed.
  The heating system however leaves much to be desired.
  The conservatory has no heating at all so is totally unusable in winter and just makes the overall low temperature of the house even lower
  The "snug!!" never was anything so inappropriately named had just a small log burner as the only form of heating .
  
  The main living room temperature even with a log burner going never exceeded 16 degrees.
  After less than 48 hours we could no longer stay in the property and returned home
  a total waste of money and having made representations to Sykes and through them the owners, we are told it is all our fault and that we had broken two chairs (false) that are described in the house information pack as "rickety"
  I also have a mobility problem and it took me 15 not 2 minutes to get from the village car park
  
  I would not call it 4 star luxury as we were freezing cold the entire time we were there
