New York City, New YorkBeautiful house in a terrific and quiet neighborhood
Left on 05/14/2013 for a stay in May 2013
I traveled to Denver recently for a conference. Having lived there several years ago, I know a bit about the quality of hotels in town (they are either elite and expensive or roach motels to avoid at all costs), as well as neighborhoods to visit and those to avoid. This home is in the Highlands neighborhood, which is a hip area in which to live and visit. There are many beautiful homes in this area, and this one is a jewel.
You'll have the top floor of the house to yourself, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen. It is very spacious, tastefully decorated and quiet. I didn't get a chance to meet the owners because I wasn't around that much other than to briefly relax and sleep, but they did leave some very delicious cookies for me on the day that I arrived.
This is a terrific alternative to the standard hotel in Denver. You are close to downtown, and there is an RTD bus line that goes right near the house. Be forewarned, the 32 bus stops running at approximately 7:30 p.m., so be prepared to cab it if you are out late. There are also several very good restaurants nearby.
All of my colleagues were jealous of where I was staying, for good reason! -

The location of this flat is ideal if you are interested in going to the mountains in the west. Access to the airport is easy and you are right off the highways. We visited Red Rock and the St. Mary's Glacier and the Rocky Mountain National Forrest with relative ease. You are within a short 5-10 minute drive to all parts of downtown Denver. There are several restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. The apartment itself is well maintained and has all the amenities. Mind you, it is not the Taj Mahal but it is quite acceptable. If you are not used to the altitude and are older, you may have a little difficulty climbing the 2 1/2 flight of stairs but it is not too bad. Good choice all things considered.

55451Excellent location in a beautiful neighborhood

Conveniently located on bus route 32 that goes downtown and also connects to the airport route, so you really don't need a rental car if Downtown Denver is your destination. The house is very beautiful and you have a private entrance to the flat. The flat is on the third floor, so the elderly may want to consider other properties. There are restaurants, a bakery, and an organic market all within walking distance.
