Nestling on Harthill Moor,5 miles from Bakewell,Chatsworth House,the world-famous home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire,and the medieval manor,HaddonHall. Both Chatsworth and Haddon are popular period film (website: hidden) the Duchess ,Jane Eyre,etc.
There is ample private parking space outside apartment. A car is essential as no public transport .
The village of Winster with it's old,small ( minute,actually ) Market hall in the centre of the village. and Elton,are within 1 mile. Some great eating places are in Winster, Youlgreave, Bakewell and all surrounding villages and towns.
Bakewell is famous for it's Agricultural Market and Show, Music Festival held annually in August.
Lots of things happen here,in the Peaks,eg.the Welldressings,unique to Derbyshire,music festivals,eg Gilbert&Sullivan; and Buxton Fringe,i+ the Military Tattoo n July, New for this year is the visit of the Tour de France coming through Bakewell on June 20 -22nd..The Eroica Vintage Cycle Festivalis in Bakewell June 19-22nd. Not to be missed.The Pride and Prejudice Ball is being held at Chatsworth House. a1st for the area !!
YNot Music Festival in August, Matlock bath Illuminations and the Wirksworth Arts Festival in September.
The cable cars at Gullivers Kingdom , the Otter Sanctuary and Donkey Sanctuary are great for children

There is parking at the Secret @ Peak Serenity, and it is advisable to bring your car ( a 4x4 in the Winter!),as there is no bus service along the lanes,nearest bus stop is in Elton.
