Southern Vacation Rentals was very helpful on our arrival. Sealoft #103 is a nice enough place to stay. It needs a thorough cleaning.The beds were good and the accomodations as a whole were satisfactory. Access to the beach was great. Location can't be beat. There were plenty of restaurants and places to shop nearby. The best feature is its closeness to the water. We did not like the screened in balcony.

We stayed in Sealoft 103 for 2 months and for the most part, it was enjoyable. When we arrived, the garbage disposal and the ice maker weren't working. The odor that was mentioned in previous reviews was still there. The appliances were fixed quickly by a Southern maintainence man and he once and for all found the source of the odor and corrected it. The condo was clean but could use some sprucing up. There were burnt out lite bulbs, the living room furniture is showing wear and needs to be replaced, and the entire unit is in need of a fresh paint job. However, it was very pleasant and liveable with everything you could possibly need available.

Wonderful location to beach and everything else.
Condo is pleasant, kitchen equiped well, beautiful master bedroom/bath. On the down side, the second bedroom/bath is not best for second female or adult. No good storage in bedroom such as chest/drawers: and curtains did not block out the lights from outside so bedroom was not dark all night long.Drapes should be changed. Bathroom did not have storage for cosmetics,etc. It would have been nice to have shelves over toilet area for personal things. Bathtub/shower could have been unsafe for an elderly person to use because of no hand bars. The master bath could have a soap bar/tray.
The ice machine quit working on the second day and we had to buy bags of ice.
It is a better facility for a family and can see that a family with children would be very comfortable here.Response from Southern Vacation Rentals - 01/05/2013

Aside from Southern Vacation, not having our keys ready for the 4PM pickup. We had a great vacation. Took some figuring out we needed a door code and the keys provided were for the beach access. I agree with the previously renters that it could have been a tad cleaner. We quickly figured out that the vacuum itself was broken and we requested a new one on Monday. Had it by end of business Tuesday and after a good vacuuming the air quality and debris level both improved. The kitchen was great for a vacation get away. I would have appreciated a little 409 or windex to be stocked for me. The 4 rocking chairs on the porch won me over. The beds were all comfortable and we felt secure at all times. Lots of towels. The screen porch could use a little mending but there had been weather the week before that could have caused it. We used RentGearHere.com for beach chairs and they were wonderful too.

I called Southern vacations four days prior to our arrival to inquire if prior review of 10-4-12 discrepancy of item had been addressed. Assure the sofa had been cleaned. I was told the sofa bed had been cleaned. On arrival the sofa had awful smell. I contacted Southern and they sent one of the maintenance people to inspect. I suggested to him the sofa be temporarily removed and replaced since the owner was coming the following Wednesday. Supposedly the next day people came to clean the seats of the sofa. Smell was still apparent. The net of this is that we were unable to enjoy the living room at all. I finally covered the sofa with a blanket to reduce the smell. Southern did provide a small discount on our rental upon our checkout.
This unit needs to have carpet replaced and the unit cleaned by someone who cares! Southern Vacations personnel were very courteous and friendly but the bottom line is the problem never got resolved. We have been coming to Destin for 31 years and this was unfortunately a troublesome stay because of the smell. Unit is well furnished in kitchen and the location is superb. Also the bed in master is very comfortable.
We are sorry this occurred since this was our 56 wedding anniversary. Due to the condition of the unit while we were there we could not recommend this unti. We are confident with sofa replacement and cleaning this could be very enjoyable unit.Response from Southern Vacation Rentals - 11/15/2012

I sincerely apologize that you experienced any inconveniences and dissatisfaction during your stay. After receiving your comments, I did review the actions that were taken prior to your arrival in regards to the sofa, and we did have them professionally steam cleaned and sanitized. During your stay and also after you departed, the upholstry was also cleaned and in addition the carpets were cleaned. We feel that the problem has been rectified and we hope that you will give us the opportunity to regain your goodwill and stay with Southern once again.

We really enjoyed the location of this condo. It was close to the beach with easy access and we had lots of privacy. We appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was with appliances and utensils. The unit was well decorated, although could have been cleaner. The carpets need cleaning, there were shards of broken plastic or glass on the kitchen floor and the sofa bed had a strong odor of urine. Southern Vacation Rentals did a great job trying to deal with the urine smell, but we were not ablet o enkoy the living room due to the odor. The wireless internet was intermittent in the 2nd bedroom and the bed int he 2nd bedroom was very squeaky.

There was nothing in this condo that could have been improved upon. It was wonderful. Loved the view overloking the ocean. We watched dolfins jump in the morning from our patio! The beach was outstanding. Beatiful clear water. Very clean. We will definitely be going back.

In the beginning of the reservation, I was disappointed the customer service staff did not know if beach chairs were availalbe on site or not. They did offer the information we could go to Captain Dave's where there is a public beach access. But, goodness...that was 1 1/2 miles from the condo. We were able to rent chairs from a local vendor, but there was a mix-up with that which cost us a day of relaxation just with the aggravation. Once I rent a chair for an extended stay, I shouldn't need to go down to the beach to mark my chair with towels in order for no one else to take them. The chair service should come up with a better system, and Southern should know about it.
There wasn't a parking pass, nor a key to the beach access gate in the townhome. I called and left a message with the Rental agency but never heard back from them. The icemake in the townhome was not producing ice when we arrived. Upon calling the agency, they said someone would be right out to repair it. No one showed. We did receive another call from the agency saying the repair person would be out on Monday to replace the icemaker and were very nice to offer payment for any ice we purchased. However, no one showec to replace the icemaker. Just a little frustrating.
The townhome, itself, was very nicely appointed. The guest bedroom could use better window coverings, as the windows overlook the parking lot with all the light shining into the window. The location was perfect, the beach was perfect, the weather was perfect...all savers for the frustration we encountered. The screened porch was like heaven, and the rocker chairs were the perfect place to begin and end our days. The proximity to the beach, and the upkeep of the property were our very favorite. We will come again. -

This condo was fabulous! My family had a wonderful time on this vacation. There are only 8 condos in the faciity which meant we had the entire beach to ourselves practically every day. When we weren't on the beautiful beach we were in the rocking chairs on the back porch watching the water. The condo felt like home because of all the nice upgrades with granite in the kitchen and tile throughout. We will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Hall bath light was out. Had to replace ourselves so bathroom would be functional. By the second day there was an ant problem in the kitchen. The second bedroom mattress was horrible. My husband and I took turns sleeping on the couch. Very cute decorations, but was not the cleanest place. Microbe handle was broke off, bathrooms were just ok on cleanliness.

The condo was beautifully appointed and the location was great. Our 2 year old took a little while getting used to the boat bed but by the end she just climbed right in there. Thank you to the owners for sharing your vacation home with us. We absolutely loved our vacation and can't wait to come back.

I took my parents here for their 50th anniversary and it was near perfect! The location was wonderful, and it was just a very short walk down to the water which is what I needed for my mom who has had back surgery and cant walk that far. I just got back from Mexico and this beach was much nicer! It was compeletely clear waters, and the beach was very clean. We rented chairs and umbrellas every day. The condo has a screened in porch which is very nice to sit out on at night. I wouldn't have picked a different location. Everything is close by. I really liked how few people are in front of the condo since there are just a few units. We had a family with kids running above us the last night for hours, but other then that, the trip was amazing!

We have stayed at other locations, in Destin, that do not even compare to Sealoft 103. It is gorgeous and we loved how it had a private beach and the condo had so many windows to see the beautiful beach! We will definitely be back next year and the year after that but with our friends so they can enjoy it!! =)

Very cozy place nearby many great restaurants! Loved stepping right out onto the beach and the privacy of the beach...not crowded at all! Everything was very clean. Five females and myself stayed here for a girls getaway and it was perfect! Never ran out of hot water either, which is a big plus in my book. Great place and even better location!!!

Our family stayed in Sealoft #103 in late March of 2011. It was a great vacation! The condo was right on the beach. We were far enough away from public beaches that is wasn't crowded. I was worried the weather might be a little cool that time of year but most of the days were very nice and warm enough to enjoy the beach. My children even went in the water though it was a little chilly. The place was very nice and clean. We had a wonderful time.

My husband, sister and I spent a week at Sealof 103 and with the exception of some noisey neighbors upstairs, we had a wonderful, relaxing time. The condo is located only stepts from the beach - something that is rare in Destin. We felt very much at home there.

This was the greatest place ever. We was near all shopping and food but out of the way of the crowds. This was better than we could have imagined. I would recommend this Sealoft #103 to anyone and I will bring my family back with me next time. Right on the beach. Just perfect. My favorite was the screened in back porch where we gathered each morning and each afternoon.

We loved staying at Sealoft #103. We stayed here in 2004 but was run out by Ivan, so our stay was for only 3 days then. We were blessed to stay for 2 weeks this time and loved every minute of it!!! It is well decorated with lots of bright colors to make you feel happy. We loved sitting on the screened porch in the rocking chairs each morning to wait for the dolphins to swim by..they actually put on a show for us jumping and playing for about 45 minutes one day...a delight!! The kitchen is well appointed with all the dishes, cookware needed...although could use another tea towel instead of just one. We did miss having a stereo/cd player...there was no music!! And we love our music for the beach! So either maybe an upgrade on the cable system to include music channels or stereo/cd player would be recommended. Some books and games would be good to as we forgot our games this in in our mad dash to get here as soon as we could :). We had a totally wonderful time in Sealoft #103 and plan on being there again!

Condo just as described. Great location right on the beach ... loved that there were only 8 units in this building. Easy to & from the beach... my husband & I loved that ... no elevators to deal with! Nicely decorated & clean unit. Just make sure you unlock the door going out onto balcony before you shut it... we locked ourselves out the first day ... funny now but not at the time.
