The beach access is just across the street from the lovely condo. Relax on your patio and enjoy the neighborhood feel and partial view of the Gulf of Mexico. We have been renting from Southern Resorts for many years and have also stayed at Caribbean Dunes multiple times as well. We love the location of Caribbean Dunes to the beach. I doubt we will ever rent there again during spring break. Upon arrival the place was trashed and very dirty. After much frusteration and many phone calls Southern Resorts took care of steam cleaning the carpet and couch as well as cleaning the unit again. This unit has a great location but needs many updates. The carpet throughout is worn and dirty as is the limited furniture, and tile in the bathroom is cracked. Also, Caribbean Dunes has no deeded beach access so the space for setting up on the beach is very limited by the other two condos on either side, we had to be chained into a small section cramped with all the other renters. You are at the beach, and it is a great location, but if it is during busy season and the prices are higher for rental this is not the best deal in town.

The rental was perfect!! Perfect distance from the beach and some great restaurants!! Great distance from Wal Mart and shopping malls!! Perfect!! Very colorful, and very cute decorations!! Had all the pots pans and dishes we needed!! There were two minor things that were not so perfect, we had to rewash most of the plates and platters we used from previous visitors, and the jets in the bathtub had mildew inside and try we're hard to operate! Other than that our stay/vacation was perfect!!

The location was great... the condo just so-so. The bed was comfortable, and I loved that you could park right in front of your room. Just a minute walk to the beach, which was great.I didn't really want to sit on the couch, it was dirty looking, we put the sheet over it. The walls are very thin... we could hear every footstep upstairs. The pool and hot tub could use some major maintence, but the gardening surrounding it was nice. We had an alram going off in our room one day, and couldn't get in touch with anyone from Southern Rentals to help us... my husband finally found the source of the noise in the closet with the water heater. All in all it was just alright... I'm not sure we would want to book this particular unit again.

My recent stay at Caribbean Dunes #104 was with my husband, my 17 year old neice, and my 66 year old mother. It was the perfect vacation rental for all of us. My mother doesn't walk long distances, but was able to walk to the beach and enjoy it from the condo. There were many activities nearby to do. We have decided to make Destin our annual vacation spot and will certainly stay at Caribbean Dunes again!

Unit 104 is a nice unit and we would return again. This was so easy to pick up your chair from the porch and cross the street and you are at the beach relaxing. Weather was great and the water and beach is so clean and nice. Nice to sit on the porch and talk to people walking or riding by on bicycles. Unit is very colorful and well equiped..try it out for yourself!!!

I would have to rate this condo average-almost below average overall because it needed to be updated. Carpet had several bleach stains, comforter on bed had spots on it(did not use because of this). Kitchen was very ill equipped, only 6 spoons, very limited pots & pans. Not what we had been used to in the past. The price was very reasonable for this condo this year or we would have been extremely disappointed. We travel to Destin twice a year.

The condo was nice, but there is need for improvement.
1. The tub and shower is moldy, needs to be recaulked and the tub was stopped up.
2. It would have been nice to have had a outside table to sit out and eat on.
Carribean Dunes is our favorite place to stay, we enjoy the location and the feeling of a small neighborhood, riding bikes, walking to the beach and the many places to eat in Destin and San Destin. The beaches are just wonderful, clean and the water is beautiful. We live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and there is no comparison to Destin beaches. A short drive to away for fun and relaxation. -

Hello, we have stayed in these condos a total of 5 times over the past 7 yrs... We truly enjoy the location and the condos have all been very nice. However, this condo needs some updating. They need to tear up the carpet and put down tile. The carpet was filthy while we were there...they also need to replace the couch... very worn down and very uncomfortable to sit on..the bathroom floor was also NOT clean when we arrived. hair and grime on the floor and the corners. Everything eles was very nice... if these upgrades were made, I would stay here again, otherwise, I would not. Thanks for your time..

We really enjoyed staying in this brightly decorated condo. It is very conveniently located to all our favorite restaurants and shopping locations. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood in the mornings. It's also perfect for biking. The only improvement we would suggest is the patio furniture. It was very dirty. We scrubbed it before we used it. Most of the other condo's had nicer patio furniture.

We have come to Destin for many years and always try different places to stay. We have loved everyone we have stayed in, also. The location of Caribbean Dunes was wonderful. The public beach was right across the street with walking distance to another, more roomy public beach access. Our condo #104 was clean, nicely decorated,and included everything we needed in the kitchen. After a few days we noticed the air conditioner was not cooling down the unit to a comfortable temperature. After checking the filter area where AC unit is located, we noticed an inch of ice that had collected on the AC condenser. Having to turn AC off for the night to let it thaw out, unit became uncomfortably warm, as it was the middle of August. We ended up sleeping in our friend's unit, a couple doors down, because the maintenance man couldn't come til the next day. He was very nice, saying he had been there a month before servicing the AC for the same problem. He told us he put 5 gallons of Freon into the unit, which is A LOT! By the next afternoon, the AC had frozen up again. We called and were told someone couldn't come out til the next day. We were leaving the following night, so we braved it and slept there that night. I was not happy with having to sleep in my friend's unit just to stay cool. Other than the AC problem, we would stay with Caribbean Dunes again, but in another unit, and I will definitely check the AC as soon as I arrive.

We had a great time in #104. Our family enjoyed the brightly decorated condo and short walk to the beach. It was the perfect location! It was close enough to walk back and forth to the beach many times each day! The condo was a nice place to relax during the few rainy hours!

My family's stay at Caribbean Dunes #104 was extremely enjoyable and relaxing. The unit was nicely decorated and very comfortable. Access to the beach was only a few steps away. We especially like the keyless entry which elimiates the need to constantly ask "who has the key". We are planning on returning next year, but will be staying for a week or more!

Carribean Dunes #104 was a great home away from home! It had such bright colors in it, my kids loved it! Very kid friendly! This was our first spring break trip to Florida and would definitely do it again!
It was a one minute walk to the beach across the street - which is not busy, I was worried about having to cross the street, but it wasn't an issue at all.
You won't need to pack 1/2 of what you expect to because you'll be in your bathing suit most of the time and if you use the washer and dryer in the condo you will save a lot of space in your vehicle.

We arrived Jan. 15, 2009 and we were pleasantly please with the decor of #104. It is very bright and cheerful. Our accommodations were very comforable. Obviously we all differ in our requirements for a kitchen. However, we found things to be adequate. I did leave a message that the blender and electric can opener do not work.
We would definitely recommend this place to others. -

My family and I had a fantastic time. Here it is November and we are still wishing we were back in Florida. My 5 year old just said last night that she wishes she could be swimming in the pool again and playing with the sand. We of course have decided to return again next year. My parents had great things to say and found it well worth the price. Our condo was decorated beautifully and seemed to set the mood. It was the first beach expierence for my daughter, my brother and my mom. They absolutely loved it. Thank you again and we will be back.

My wife and I have stayed at Caribbean Dunes four or five times (the last four or five times we have visited the Destin area). We have been coming to the Destin area since 1976 and have since the growth since that time explode. With the construction of the "new" Hwy 98 and the tremendous growth along this highway, we thoroughly enjoy stayhing in the area that we refer to as the "Old" Hwy 98! Caribbean Dunes was originally referred to us by some friends, we have enjoyed staying there. It is close to the beach as well as being close to shopping & restaurants, plus it allows to go to these places without getting in the car unless we want to. The various units we have stayed in have been clean and comfortable. With the use of the keyless entry and reservations online, we do not have to go to any office first - very convenient. We look forward to coming back in 2009!!

We had the pleasure of two stays at Carribean Dunes 104, once in May and again in August. We love the ease of our stays with Southern Resorts. For years we went to Myrtle Beach but the water is clear and the beaches so white.
We'll be back in May and again in August of next year!
