We will stay here again. The positives far out weigh the negatives. Some of the furniture could use some TLC.
Bottom drawers in both dressers are broken and unusable. The table legs could use some attention also, but we still loved it!!!

The room was more than enough space for our party. You are right on the beach so the Sunset was beautiful. The pool is on the back side of the building and is never in the Sun. Not a good place for kids unless your kids love the beach. If there is any chance you will arrive before 4:00 check-in (on the weekend), make sure to make arrangements to check-in early. No one is in the office on the weekend. I called the local and the 800 number and no one to this day has returned my call.

We were extremely disappointed with this condo. It had not been cleaned in some time. We found the counters were dirty, the sliding glass doors were green with mold; the cooking pots and pans were unusable. We had to clean the inside of the refrigerator before putting our food in it. The ceiling fans were caked with dust and dirt. The kitchen faucet was not working properly. The shower heads were not working properly. The commode seat was almost off. We rented it for our son and his wife. They spent all Friday afternoon cleaning and vacuuming so they could enjoy it. We have rented condos many times in the same area. We are very satisfied with the area but have never found a condo in this condition. We feel that Southern Vacation Rentals and the owner should be embarrassed to rent a condo in the condition that we found this one in. In addition, the pictures we found on the internet did not accurately reflect what we found.
For future rentals we would only rent if we can actually see the condo prior to renting as we have found the pictures can be deceiving.

First of all, I would like to say that Southern Resorts was a pleasure to deal with -- communication was great and I would call on your services again. We have stayed at Crystal Dunes a number of times and in a number of condo rentals and I have to say this one was in the worst condition of any. The refrigerator ice maker did not dispense ice, it took 2 full days to cool our food and drinks. The faucet on the kitchen sink turned around in a circle to shut off. The washer/dryer was so loud you could barely stand it. The towels were so hard and stiff they were a nightmare to use. However, the condo was very clean.

We have been coming down to Destin for 4 years now and have stayed on different properties by Douthern rentals and have never been disappointed. Your web site is very factual and true to what you get at the property. we would definitely come back. We have 2 kids and this year my 15 year old daughter brought her friend and she said it was the best week of her life!!

lovely beachfront property. the beach chairs and umbrellas were a definite plus. pool was usually crowded with little kids but that's not your fault. condo was comfortably furnished. could have used a few more bowls and spoons, etc. minor maintenance issues (doorknob fell off, dresser drawers were falling out) overall, spent a relaxing week and would be happy to come back.

I have always stayed in hotels on vacation, it was a last minute decision to go to Destin, my secretary looked for hotels and did not find any on memorial weekend, she come to me and said that she had found a condo on the beach, I was very reluctant to go have to tell you I could not believe it the place was exactly as the picture, it was clean and beautiful as the picture I have never ever written a review this is the first time, but I will go back in a heartbeat and I recommend anyone alone or with family to go to this place was amazing.

Loved the complex, loved the location. Liked the condo, but expected better conditions for the premium price paid. The carpet needs replacing badly. The electronics need replacing and updating badly. Expect flat screens and h.d. for this price, not dated analog monitors. The couch and love seat were worn. The stove had a huge chip in it. The bed mattresses were soft and worn. There was a leak from above in the kids bath and a faucet handle was detached.

This is the tenth year we have rented a condo on the beach through Southern Resorts, and the 7th time at Crystal Dunes. We have never been disappointed. This was our first time in #202, but it met all of our expectations. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. We rarely used the elevator as we were located on the second floor and the stairway was right outside our door. The view was gorgeous and the weather absolutely beautiful every day. It is so nice to have the beach service included with the condo. Every day we had our umbrella and 2 chairs waiting for us on the beach with our condo number on it. We didn't want to leave!

We have stayed in this condo for years and will return for many more. Just run
down the steps and you are on the beach! THE BEAUTIFUL BEACH!!! Not
crowded at all in May, so it is a great time to visit. The condo has new
appliances and is lovely. Views of the beach in the living area and master
bedroom. Great baths, too. Nice, clean, well maintained pool. If there was one
small area of concern, it would be with the beach service. We asked for an
extra chair for each day ($5 fee...that's fine) but it was only there 1 day. Beach
service provider was never around, so I lugged the chair tagged with our
number to the beach. Finally, we just gave up. He was always off surfing and
was never there when you needed him. That is small potatoes compared with
how wonderful the rest of the trip was. We will definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed staying at the Crystal Dunes in Destin.
Our condo was spacious and nicely decorated. We loved sitting out on the balcony in the evening watching the ocean (or occasional storm).
The kitchen was very well stocked with all appliances and living room had comfy couches.
The walk to the beach only takes one minute and lounge chairs are set up in the morning. (you pay extra for an extra chair though).
Only downside was that the mattresses were very soft and probably should be replaced. As do the sheets, they looked old and worn. We forgot to pack a hairdryer and unfortunately there wasn't one in the condo.
I can definitely recommend it; the condo was comfortable and the location and beach are fantastic! -

The condo and the entire complex was in excellent condition. The location and amentities were excellent. The beach service was very responsive and courteous. Southern Resorts office and reservation staff were very good and professional. The staff was very responsive to correcting a minor problem (no clothes hangers in condo). The reason I would not rate the stay 5 stars is for Southern Resorts overall corporate reservation policy. We made our 2009 reservations as we checked out in 2008. Southern Resorts received a 40 something precent deposit immediately. Southern Resorts/Owner had full use of my money for almost a year without any services rendered to me. However when a 10% discount offer for Southern Resorts customers, who had yet to make their 2009 reservations, was sent to me by accident via e-mail about six weeks before our arrival, you refused to honor it and offered only a 5% discount. I booked early, you had use of a large deposit for almost a year, and I get penalized versus a person that just decided to book. A really great customer relations move for a returning customer!!! Also the full payment due 30 days before arrival, almost forces you to take out the trip insurance. (What's Southern Resorts commission?). We fully intend to return to Crystal Dunes in 2010, but I will look for a agency with less restrictive resevation policies and a agency who fully rewards a loyal returning customer before I place a resevation with Southern Resorts again. I think the large early deposit required even at a year out and full payment 30 days before arrival is no longer competitive in this current market.

Crystal Dunes is an extremely popular rental and chances are that if you waited to book when we sent the last minute specials out there would have been no availability in Crystal Dunes. The thinking behind the special was to push the small amount of availability we have left in our inventory. The email blast also had a disclaimer that stated that the offer was not valid for existing reservations. However, we met you halfway and offered a 5% discount. We value your business and appreciate you letting us know about your concerns. The reason we collect payment in full 30 days prior to arrival is so we can release a keyless entry code to our guests so they can conveniently skip our check in process and go straight to the condo. Thank you for staying with Southern Resorts and we sincerely hope to see you again.

We have been coming to the Crystal Dunes or Emerald Dunes for almost 10 years. This year's experience was very good at the Crystal Dunes unit 202. We arrived before the check-in time of 4 pm, yet our property was available before that time. We called and told Southern Resorts that we were in town early, and they set up a text message to let us know when our unit was ready. Our family went and ate lunch at a local restaurant, and by the time we had finished eating, we got the text that our room was ready. We were able to check in about 2 hours early without having to pay extra. The condo was in great condition when we arrived, and we had NO problems with any of the appliances, AC, or any other aspect of the condo. This was truly a thrill for us, and I would highly recommend this unit and Southern Resorts as a very reliable team for your next vaccation stay. We enjoyed the location to all of the local Destin attractions including restaurants, grocery stores, banks, etc.

Baby boomer couple with 2 adult children and spouses (and baby-on-the-way)chose well. First class service from Southern Resorts - they even shipped home a tote bag that I'd left behind - got it in about 3 days! Stayed at Crystal Dunes for lst time, but definitely not our last! We gave up the crowded high-rise condo where our kids grew up, and opted for the smaller, quieter, VERY convenient amenities at Crystal Dunes. Second floor condo was so close to the beach. We loved: keyless entry to unit, on-site security 24/7, complimentary beach service, cleanliness of complex/unit; spaciousness of unit, ceiling fans in every room, comfy furniture; photos of owners' family (personal touch) and guestbook; large balconies with partial shade am/pm; great tropical pool area; handy outdoor grills; friendly, courteous guests; ease of checking in/out (never even went to the office!); price of accomodations was reasonable. Location was great -- limited beach traffic - just 4 bldgs east of Henderson State Park. Weather, water and sunshine was perfect! We hope to be back in 2010, if not sooner!

are a must for us in Destin. The beach isn't crowded here but so
close to all the activity in the area. This unit is beautifully

We have a long ride in the car to anticipate the way our "temporary home" will look. Exhausted and 980 miles from home we put the key in the door, and all those miles disappear. We were so pleased that our condo was clean and decorated beautifully. We had the beach out one door and the pool out the other.
Shopping and restaurants down the street. I am already looking for a place for next year 2009 to call "home".
