Had a great stay. The condo looks just like the pictures, but bigger. Nicely updated, very clean, all amentities. Right on the beach, beautiful view, no problems with the chair service. Everything was in place as promised and Southern Vacation Rentals was very responsive and helpful to any questions we had. Very good location. Would recommend this condo and would stay there again.

Emerald Dunes #405 was beautiful, clean and a wonderful view of the ocean and beach. This is our third year staying at Emeral Dunes facility, but #405 has been the far better condo!!! The only thing that I would have liked differently would have been able for us to have gotten into the condo earlier than 4:00 p.m. without an additional fee.
We look forward to future vacations in Destin in this cond. -

Our family arrived in Destin early from two separate locations, each driving all night. I paid for early arrival times, understanding that we would gain access to our unit NLT 1:00 pm. I was also advised when paying for the extra time, that we should call upon arrival in the event that our unit had been cleaned we could possibly have access prior to 1:00. I initially called about 11:45, and was told that they were almost complete and to call back in a few minutes. Long story short, it took several calls (with a hot,hungry and sleepy toddler)to finally be told that we could not get in until 1:00. That would have been fine, and we would have planned our arrival accordingly if I had not been told it might be possible to access the condo earlier. The only other issue was the beach chair service. After a couple of days of not finding our chairs "tagged" with our unit number, I spoke with the chair "valet" who informed me that the tagged chairs were for owners and guests who paid for them, and then first come first serve. Our family loves coming to Destin and it is always the highlight of our year. As usual, we had a great time being together, and Emerald Dunes has been our destination for several years. For our next trip to Destin, we may request an area a little less crowded.

The condo was very clean, updated and very comfortable. It was very well furnished. I liked the security on the property.
The weather was perfect and the beach was nice and clean. The water was crystal clear and of course the sand was as white as sugar.
All in all, we enjoyed it very much. -

This unit was pretty great, beyond my expectations. The view was fabulous from our balcony just needed 4 chairs instead of 2 and the screen door was off the hinges. We cooked every night we were there and the condo met all our accommodations. We saw dolphins from the balcony and also from the beach. The master bath was perfect size. The only bad thing I can tell you is that the people that stayed directly above us on the 5th floor were a rowdy bunch. You can easily hear them pouncing all around. at all hours of day and night we herd foot steps and loud bangs but other than that the condo it self was perfect and we will be back.

We have stayed in #405 for 5 or 6 years and it has always been perfect until this year. 405 itself is still great for us!! The large size of the couch is perfect and one reason we love this rental! However, it isn't as clean as it once was. You can tell that the carpet in the bedrooms is getting older. This year we had some neighbors below us that were unusual for this condo. They were mouthy (yelling at people and cussing) and scummy looking. I was very uncomfortable alone with them in the elevator. I wouldn't let our little boy go anywhere alone because of them and I didn't use the elevator alone again. This has always been a very family oriented place and we have always felt perfectly safe until this year with those guys. Also, we had to deal with public beach people this year. We have never had to do that! They tried to take over! "Beach Boy" had to chase them off very often. They would just come in with all their stuff and plop down in front of us. They left trash etc etc! Emerald Dunes has always been perfection with other families! This year, we dealt with trashy people and a public beach. We may have to move to another condo because of these problems.

The rental unit itself was great. The view is beautiful and location is perfect. However, Southern Vacation Rentals will not receive my business again. Upon arrival, we did not have any codes to the beach access, pool or pool restrooms. We had to bring all of our belongings to the public access and walk back down to the condo area. We were told by an employee that we should ask someone utilizing the pool what the codes were (that is not what I paid for). I placed several calls and did not receive the codes til the later the next day (from the condo HOa, which I had to call). Two days after our arrival, someone had deficated in the pool. I had to call again and see why the pool was closed. They told me why and that it would be closed for 24hrs. The pool was closed for a full 48hrs with no explanation. We are now on Wednesday, only to be interrupted by 2 service calls. One, to replace a filter for the refrigerator water dispenser. We were told that was suppose to have been taken of before we arrived by the tech. The other was to spray pest control. Neither service were we notified of. We did not appreciate the interruptions, nor did we feel our belongings secure unless we stayed. We also had cleaning supplies dropped off inside the condo door while we were not there. Not sure why those items (pot holders, shower curtain and toliet bowl cleaner were needed to be delivered in the middle of our stay).
I have made several calls and have only been credited $105 (half of one night stay). This is totally unacceptable for all we went through on our vacation!! I have made a few other calls to have a supervisor return my calls and have not heard from anyone in a month. I will not recommend this company to anyone! -

As always we enjoyed our stay in Destin thanks to wonderful accommodations arranged through Southern Resorts. The view was wonderful. The condo was well equipped.
Only negative thing was perhaps a personal preference the master bedroom bed was dreadfully hard and the lack of mattress pad didn't help.
The condo we had rented for many years previously was not available this year as we had waited late to book; I think perhaps our procrastination may have paid off. We have a new favorite.

Emerald Dunes 405 was just such a very pretty and comfortable place. My son was married on a Sat., and my husband and I held a dinner party for all who came for the wedding. I made a big dinner and the kitchen was a dream to work in. Lots of space. Plus the spacious counter was perfect for all the drinks and buffet style food. Everyone was very envious of the view and the overall place.
Southern Vacation Rentals was wonderful to work with. Thank you very much for an enjoyable stay. -

We stayed in the Unit 405 in Oct and again this June. There were a few things that need corrected after a Oct. trip and when we got to the unit in June we were happy to find all of the problems had been taken care of. But we were so happy with the end unit that we booked it again for June even though it is a smaller unit that we have stayed in at in the past. It we very clean with enough linens for the 6 people in the unit. But the one thing that I can say is if there is a lot of people in unit 505 as it is a 4 bedroom unit you can hear them all times day and night walking and running around. It is ok during the day as we spent most of the time of the beach but at night when you are trying to put small one down for the night, not so good. I thought the pool was to warm and I know it is hard when it is so warm but o well what can you do? This was the first time in all the years we having been coming down to Destin beach that we had to pay for our beach service the first day and not the last day of the week. So Jon lost out on his tip this year Jeff alway asked for it at the end of the week. He just lost out on $25 we would have given him at the end of the week. but over all the trip was great and can't wait til June 2012

We had a wonderful time on the beaches of Destin. The condo was clean (even if the upholstry and bedding were a bit worn) and very comfortable. The kitchen was nicely equiped. We ran out of dishwasher tablets and toilet paper - it would have been nice to be able to get more. The woman who seemed to be in charge of the condos was less than friendly.

This unit needs to be cleaned!! The sofa, chairs, area rugs are filthy. The bed linens were nasty. We rented a large unit for extended family & there were no linens for the sofa bed--as were advertised. The kitchen was very large & nice but many of the dishes were very dirty & had to be scrubbed & rewashed!! The view was great!! There was ample sitting room. Pocket door in MBR was broken (spring & wheels) & took 2 days to be repaired!! The bathroom situation down by the pool is dangerous!!! Since its keyless the lock on the doornob just spins & there is a latch very high to lock the door--it does not work well & if a child flipped it shut they could not open it because it sticks & you have to push the hinge to release it--the fan must be on for the light to work in this Bthrm & they would not be able to hear you giving them these instructions--also they should not leave the door unlocked while going to the bthrm. We have older children that are small in stature & would find it difficult to reach these adult head level locks, but are at an age where they don't need parental assistance in the BR. Also, any pretator could grab a child & have them in this BR with that latch locked & no one could get in there to rescue them!!! Very dangerous!!!

My family loved Destin and staying at this condo. It was well equipped and I really apreciated the washer and dryer. We didn't use the kitchen much but it was well stocked.
I would say my biggest suggestion is some attention to the beds(comfort) and bedding(quality and age) as an area to improve.
As a side note, I was stressed upon arrival to not have a place to check in, it was my first time staying at a private condo. I did not receive check in instructions by email, not in my junk mail either. -

Emerald Dunes is a very well tended and comfortable condo. As soon as we returned from our stay there, I wanted to book again for a stay in the spring. The view from 405 is perfect for watching the gorgeous sunsets. The kitchen and living areas were a great size for two people and I think four people would be very comfy there. I especially enjoyed that the kitchen was stocked with anything you could possibly need or want to cook anything you wanted. The condo was also very quiet, I never heard outside noise at night. Also, across the street is a bike rental place which I thought was super convenient since Scenic 98 is a good place to ride. I personally can't wait to go back because I think I have found my "go to" spot for my annual treks to Destin.

Everything was fine with a few exceptions:
1) cd player for music was broken
2) two rolls of t.p. for two people for a seven day stay was inadequate.
3) A samll packet of laundry detergent would have been nice.

We will repair or purchase a new cd player. 2. We supply the initial supply of toiletries in each of our rentals. We leave two rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom. 3. We supply one packet of laundry detergent placed on top of the washer so I apologize if one was not left for you. I will address this with our team and in the future if you are unable to find one give us a call and we will be happy to bring one over for you. 4. I am sorry to hear you paid for internet access. We have free wifi set up in this room so I am wondering if you might have logged onto another condo's wireless signal. There is a binder on the kitchen counter with instructions on how to log in and if you ever have any trouble give us a call and we will do our best to help. this condo was super. we usually get a 3 or 4 bedroom, but just husband and i went this year. this 2 bdrm took care of all our needs and then some. beautifully decorated. had a few problems, and bedspreads were a little dirty, but other than those few problems it was great. would i stay here again, yep, you bet ya. thanks, owner and southern resorts.

Crystal Beach is great place to stay. Quaint, peaceful, and also convenient. Grabbed sushi one afternoon across the street and was very good. Emerald Dunes a nice place to stay and unit had all needed conveniences and was very nice. Would recommend it.

Southern Resorts was very helpful during our stay at Emerald Dunes on Crystal Beach. This condo is wonderfully located but yet so quiet. It was beautifully decorated and had breathtaking views. Every time we visit Destin we are pleasantly surprised by something new. We can't wait until next year!

The condo unit itself was wonderful - nicely furnished,updated and equipped! The beaches were the most beautiful beaches we have seen in a long time - white sand and clear ocean. Our family is used to vacationing on the outer most islands of NC and SC, therefore we were not a fan of all the traffic and crowded beaches. A little too crowded for our liking. The condo was very loud. The noise outside the condo was very loud (especially for our young son to sleep)at night time. A lot of slamming doors, etc. The renters above us were very loud as well, which created a lot of noise in our unit. The unit was not very sound proof and the renters above us kept us up late at night with all the noise. Overall, we enjoyed the beach and warm weather during our stay. Thank you.

We love staying at Emerald Dunes! This was the third year that we have stayed in the exact same condo. It is our home away from home! I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Destin. Southern Resorts has been absolutely super in every way every time we have booked with them. I wouldn't change a thing! Emerald Dunes is close to everything and the condo is very roomy and clean! We especially like the condo being on the corner because we have a view of the ocean from every room.

We really enjoyed staying at Emerald Dunes. The condo was perfect, the view magnificent, and the location great. We look forward to staying there again in the future. The only complaint: the dryer over the washing machine takes a very long time to dry towels.

Condo is spacious, well furnished. excellent location both to beach and shopping. grounds and property were clean and well kept. there was nothing additional that we could have needed as it was as close to perfect as any beach property we have ever enjoyed.

This unit was a corner unit & a very quiet location. The kitchen had all of the necessities needed to make meals and the unit itself was very clean. The promixity to the beach and shopping was wonderful. Parking in the lot was also always very quick and easy. Our family will rent at Emerald Dunes again if we vacation in Destin again!
