From Memorial Day to Labor day this unit only rents by the week Saturday to Saturday. At all other times this unit has a 5 day minimum stay period involving the weekends,and a 4 day minimum stay during weekdays not involving the weekend. NO EXCEPTIONS. The condo was gorgeous. My husband & I ended up sleeping in the guest bedroom because the master bedroom's bed was too soft. I have a bad back & when I woke up the first morning I could not get out of bed. We would like to return to the Islander for our next vacation, but we will be picking a different unit. The concrete floors are very slick when wet. It rained one of our days there & I fell walking from the balcony back into the living room.

This is a great location near the end of the beach on Gulf Shore blvd. A gated keypad keeps the parking lot and beach area secure. From our room you had to look past the Jetty East hotel to see the water. We had more of a pool/jetty view. A short walk past the pool and across the parking lot of the Jetty East condos got you to the beach. The beach staff was excellent getting our chairs and umbrella ready every day. It is close to many food locations and entertainment. Only about 10 minutes from Fort Walton Beach. The white sand beach was beautiful and crystal clear water was amazing.

We stayed 7/28-8/3 in 514 and enjoyed our stay tremendously. We liked that it was clean and the concrete floors were a smart idea...easier to clean tracked in sand. Everyone knows carpet and sand just don't go well with each other. Our kids enjoyed how spacious it was. I loved they style/decor. It was simple, but modern. We would definitely come and stay in the same unit again. The people that worked at the Islander were very accomodating when we didn't want to do our workout in the condo so as not to bother our neighbors below and so provided a solution for us.

We were very pleased with the condo. It was very clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfy and the condo was nicely updated.
We did have a issue at the pool which had nothing to do with the rental. My 4yr old got locked in the pool bathroom. Because her hands were wet she was unable to unlock the door. My husband had our son notify the front desk. She made several attempts to call maintenance but no response. They tried several attempts at trying to pick the lock. No Luck. My husband was very upset because our daughter was stuck in a bathroom with no air for a good 30 mins. It's about like being locked up in a car. They finally decided to remove the door knob and free our child. I would suggest the front desk keeping a key readably available for situations like this. It was very scary and our child came out flushed and over heated. -

Beautiful modern condo. Very clean upscale room. Always someone at the front desk to help you! Not once did we pass by that they were not smiling and friendly! Great vacation! Will stay there again:)

The Islander has the best staff ever, always at the desk and asking if they can do anything for you. The home was relaxation at its finest! We simply loved everything about this stay...the beautiful scenery, the restaurants just moments away and of course the beach...to die for. What meant the most to me was the solitude, which most people need the most.

The condo was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. The views were spectacular. We especially enjoyed the heated pool, it was as warm as bath water. We will try to stay there again next year.

This was my first time at the islander and I really enjoyed my stay. Room 514 was awesome! The decor was very modern and nice. The unit was well furnished and convenient. The bed was to die to for, it was sooo comfortable! The view was also great. We did not want to leave... it was so relaxing.

We have stayed at the Islander many times since 2000 and have always appreciated the value and location. This time we were pleasantly surprised by the recent renovations. The common areas and the grounds are beautiful! The beach has been reclaimed (from a previous hurricane) and we were very pleased to find that walking to the jetty no longer required getting wet. We chose room 514 because it has been updated and stands out from other rooms we have stayed in at the Islander. We especially liked the queen-sized bed in the second bedroom as we were traveling with another couple who preferred not to sleep in twin beds.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and available 24 hours per day. We didn't need them during the night, but it was comforting to know that someone was in the office should a need arise.
The pools, hot tubs, gazebos and tennis courts are in great shape and certainly add to the delight of staying at the Islander.
We would absolutely recommend staying at the Islander; in fact, we did. My sister checked in the day we left!
We feel that the amount of living space you get at the Islander for the price is an excellent value.
We plan to stay at the Islander every October when we are in the Destin area for the Fishing Rodeo.
