We had a lovely stay at ST. Martin Villas. The location was great and was close to everything in Destin. The condo was fully equipped with everything you needed and when we had trouble with the dryer a service repairman came that day and worked on it quickly. The walk to the beach was short and easily accessible from our room. Our favorite thing was how nice it was to be close to everything in Destin.

We vacationed in Destin for our son to learn to surf. We asked our friends who have visited Destin where are the best accomidations for famlies close to the beach. We were referred to Dale E. Peterson (DEP) as a reputable company to use. We called and they told us about St. Martin Beachwalk Villas, they mentioned that it was an older property that was being renovated. We arrived and noticed that there was a building that had caution tape completely around it as well as all type of building supplies scattered on the ground. It was 11:30 at night and we just moved the tape, stepped around the debris to get to our condo. The next day we called DEP to inform them of this issue, they moved us to another building in the same complex. We then started our vacation, a couple of days after coming from surfing lessons, our son was about to take a shower, he turned on the water and went to his room to gather some items. When he stepped back into the bathroom he slipped. When he called me in I tool a look at the floor to see water soaked everywhere. I noticed that it it was dripping from the ceiling and threshold. Upon further examination we detected that the water was streaming from the showerhead to the ceiling where a considerable amount of plaster had fallen indicating this being a long term issue. I called DEP and told them of the situaion and they had someone to come out to replace the faulty part. What concerns me is that problem was an old issue and there seemed to be no concern for resolution until our son fell. We still have not had an apology and was not impressed with the facility or DEP. Beware!!

We were informed that during our stay there would be construction going on at the complex, but it would not affect the unit we were to stay in. We were supposed to be at #132. Upon our arrival, we found a mess around this building. There were 2x4's everywhere, there were no railings on the stairs, and signs were posted everywhere about construction work that would be done throughout the week and that hard hats were required. I called the office and we were given the option of moving to unit #232. Although we believe that #132 may have been nicer, we felt that with younger kids and grandparents with us, #232 was safer. We settled in to #232 and realized that there were many things that needed work and/or updating. The patio was very dirty and had a broken screen off the master bedroom. The patio door itself would not open and close without two people pulling on it. There was a missing fire alarm with exposed wires hanging from the ceiling. The microwave door was broken. Door knobs in several rooms kept falling off. Blinds in the master bath were missing slats. The kitchen sink leaked from the faucet. The washing maching left stains on several items of clothing. There was a water stained ceiling tile in one of the bathrooms. Neither tv worked in the smaller bedrooms. My dad called your office and was told someone would get back with him about the tv situation, but no one ever called back. Additionally, construction started well before 6 am each day, including work on the original unit, which we were told would not be done. Until work is done on this particular unit, I would never rent it out again. We have stayed at St. Martin before and had a nice time, but we will think twice before returning.

This unit was not very updated. It states 4 Tv's but only 2 work as Tv's others are only good as DVD players. No working remote for the TV in the family room. Linens & couches need to be cleaned or just replaced. kitchen sink leaks and floods right hand side of kitchen counter. Had issues with hot water heater & dryer..love the location and have stayed here before. Would/could not recommend this unit without changes.

This was the first time we tried Dale Peterson Property Management company and I can ensure you it will be the last. We entered our room (3 stories up) with most of our luggage to discover the room had not even been cleaned. This was at 8 p.m. so our only choice was to go to WalMart and wash sheets ourselves after driving 3 hours! I called and complained and was assured that someone would call me to discuss the problem. After three days, I called the office, left a voicemail and never received a phone call back. One of the main reasons we chose this property was because they told us we could park our boat there for the weekend because they had a back parking lot and the condos were not near occupancy. As our friends arrived with the boat the maintenance man was adamant that we could not leave it there no matter who told us (before making reservation) that we could. It costs us $90 to store our boat that weekend. It has been two weeks and I still have not received a phone call from them. One of the most unprofessional property management companies I have ever dealt with. We spend 4 to 5 vacations a year in Destin and I can tell you Dale Peterson has been crossed off of our list for good!

When we arrived at the office the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our place that we stayed in was very spacious, nice and clean. It was perfect for 5 adults and 3 kids. I didnt know that the place had games and other things for the kids to play with. The location was perfect because the big Kahuna was cross the street and the stores was only mins away. The only thing we didnt like was that we had to walk around the back of the build and in between these two hotel to get to the beach. Overall St. Martins was a nice place to stay.

The condo was very nice, however, the cable in one room wasn't working - not a real big issue as the kids were out most of the time. It is in a great location in that alot of "teenage" things are close by. A little further to the beach than we wanted, but well worth the price. We would come again!
