We had never heard of this property before but we liked the website so we gave it a try. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Don't be surprised, this property is an older property however it is very well kept. The rooms were very clean and the grounds were tidy as well. If you are looking for an affordable family destination then this is the ideal getaway. The beach is a stroll away and the fact that the beach chairs were included with our room was an added bonus! We will definantly consider staying here again in the future.

The staff at the Islander was so Friendly and eager to help in anyway. They had a children activity every morning that my kids really enjoyed. The condo we stayed in was very charming and the beds were so comfortable that I slept better there then at my own home. We were 10 steps from the pool and the beach was right in our backyard. We ran in to some owners of the condo's and they were so helpful with leaving us information at the front desk on restaurant's and things to see and do. Thank you so much for that, this was our first time at Destin and had no idea where to go for good food and where to take the kids for fun. The islander was recommended to us from former guest and I now will be recommending the islander.

Nashville, TN108 is absolutely beautiful...
Left on 07/25/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The condo was beautiful, the location was great. I have stayed in Destin for the last 12 years and this is the first place that didn't have a washer/dryer. I was not told anything when I chacked in and had to go back to the desk about 4 times and ask basic quesions... garbage procedures, no safe key ("its lost!"), check out procedures... I didn't receive any islander info about the area. It is a good thing that I am famailiar with Destin. The people at the desk were very friendly and helpful. Guests need at least a handout with the basic procedures listed.

Location, location, location!!! Everything was perfect. Pool and beach right out your back door. Staff was helpful when needed, but blended into the background well. We really felt as if we were in our own home. We will be back for years to come!!!

Huntsville, AlabamaAs usual, wonderful!

We love Destin and the Islander. The condo was redecorated but not in the usual beach stye. The brown and dark colors are not the usual. White furniture and beach colors would have been much better. We are used to twin beds in one bedroom and got there and had two big beds. You personnel was wonderful as usual. We have no complaints, just would have decorated in more cheerful and light colors.
Hope to see you all the same time next year. -

Our unit was very clean and tastefully decorated. The living area was very very comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed the warm pool and it's close proximity to our unit. The second bedroom needed a nightstand and lamp for easier use of the room but both bedrooms had good beds and we slept well. If our kitchen was updated it would be a perfect vacation site. We still hope to return next year. Also enjoyed the patio each day the office was nice and helpful. Thanks Tom Betsy and Judy from michigan

Fort Worth, TexasWe had a nice time on vacation at the Islander.
Left on 01/04/2012 for a stay in December 2011
The desk clerks were professional, attentive, and courteous. The condo was clean and roomy. The pool was right behind the facility and the private entrance to the beach was a bonus. We liked the readily available shopping carts to assist with unloading the car. We asked for a first floor condo and actually got it. Didn't like that the washer and dryer were not in each condo and would like to have more trash bags especially when more than two people occupy the condo. Also, suggest adding grab bars in the tub/shower areas. Enjoyed the location of the Islander with shopping close by. We went for walks every morning outside the hotel property and met up with other people vacationing.

Left on 03/23/2011 for a stay in March 2011
Great first floor condo but we had a lift outside our room and it beeped all day long starting before 7am...I understand that this is just a temporary situation but the constant beeping while I'm trying to sleep in on vacation was too much...

Left on 03/02/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Room had a smoke dtector hanging out of wall and when I used the bathroom sink black mildew poure out from around the faucet and the tub temperature control was not engaging properly. The exterior features and the location are great.
I also traveled with a friend that satyed there and his rate was 240 for two nights but mine was quoted at the desk as 110 per night but the total was 329. Not sure why the difference in rate for the same accomadations.
Overall we like the location and the desk staff and maintenance crew were very nice and accomadating. -

The condo was clean. The sofa bed was terrible. There was no towel service the whole time I stayed.
I stayed four nights and I didn't like reusing the towels. The poor towel serviced bothered me so much I'm not sure that I will return. -

Lafayette, LAGreat Stay in Nicely Updated Condo
Left on 08/20/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Our family goes to the Islander every year(we usually rent five rooms). The the staff is always friendly and helpful with any needs. The location is perfect for us to walk to the jetties to snorkel or fish. This unit is one of the nicer ones we have stayed in. It us very nicely updated and decorated. We loved being on the first floor because we have young children that played together in the grassy area off the patio with the cousins next door. Even though we were on the first floor we could still see the beach and water from our room.

waco, texaswhat? no towels?
Left on 07/22/2009 for a stay in July 2009
Couldn't have been more perfect, except...I had to do laundry while I was on vacation which is a "no, no !" I was told no clean towels were available. I paid $1200 to stay in a condo where I had to go to the laundry if I wanted clean linens ? I don't think so. Seriously considerting breaking our 20 year tradition of styaing with Islander, (although we so love it there) to stay somewhere that has more consideration for their vacationing guest. When Igo on vacation, I want all the conveniences and to be treated like Iam a "guest."
Please let me know if your policy changes and we will be back next year, otherwise not so sure. By the way, we actually rented 3 condos. They were in our children's names, but 102 and 103 were ours as well. The moms with the little children just used dirty towels, they did not want to drag their little ones to the laundry and back. They probably will not want to stay at Islander next year just because of this situation. Very inconvenient ! -
