I rented 706 and 708. We have been coming to the islander for 23 years and have never failed to enjoy our stay. Room 708 was decorated much nicer and have larger tv in living room, but accommodations overall certainly lived up to our expectations.

Excellent Experience

Easy check in at the desk (open 24 hours a day), easy to talk to on the phone for reservations, the condo was just as described. I love this part of Destin since it is close to the grocery store and many attractions but also right on the beach. It has an excellent view from either side (beach or jetty). Pools and restrooms were clean as well as nicely landscaped grounds.

Wonderful Trip Great Place to Stay

First time to Destin wonderful time

After hours of calling and emailing different places in Destin I finally chose the Islander. I am from Southeast Missouri and we had never been to Destin before so I had no clue of where the Islander was exactly located at. I read their reviews and it was 2 nights before we were suppose to be leaving and I decided to call. We stayed on the 7th floor in room 706 which turned out to be wonderful. We had everything we needed in our room and it was nicely decorated. The view of the beach from room 706 was great we saw dolphins one morning and lots of fishing boats. The Islander is very well kept up. The landscaping was beautiful and the folks at the front desk were just great. Good customer Service. I would definately go back to the Islander and stay in room 706. I could not of chosen a greater place to stay. Thanks for making our vacation so wonderful.

Family Vacation

While the checkin was a bit mixed up, after that the stay was awesome. The condo was nicely decorated and had all the amenities of home. If you forgot something, you could generally get what you needed from the front desk. Close to the beach and 2 pools allowed for any kind of water fun. And it is close to everything in Destin, while being off the main roads. I will bring my family back again!

A terrible ending to a 30 year tradition of the collins family

As a group, we expected at least the courtesy of getting the best rates (those that were given to walk in customers). This was inconsistently charged to rooms 718, 717, 716, 713, 712, my room-706.
The manager on duty laughed at my spouse when she reqested help to move as we came back from a day on the beach to find we were being moved by other members of my family.
When we checked in the desk clerk asked if we wanted an extra day since we checked in one day early. We forgot to finilaze this additional day in time before it was reserved. a phone call would have been nice to remind us about the last day.

Fanastic

I was there because I getting married on the beach. I had serveral guests who stayed at the Islander. Everyone (front desk) were awesome. Anything i needed such as additional chairs for the ceremony at the last minute the staff provided us with the chairs. The services was just awesome all the way around. The home we stayed in 706 (me and new hubby) it was clean, nicely decorated and had almost everything i needed...lol We were looking for something to play a CD (music) on but there wasn't anything. Ususally you can use the DVD player but the DVD/VHS was kinda old and it didn't work. All the Tv's are a little out of date and the DVD/VHS player. But i didnt watch much tv anyway, i was there to get married and to honeymoon so it was ok. The rest of the house i have no compliants just beautiful. I have nothing negative to say. My wedding was perfect, staff was great and the home was beautiful. Thanks so much to Islander staff for making my stay pleasant and my family and friends stayed in other rooms and they have no compliants either. I will be back.

winter get away

Unit needs updating, wall coverings etc.Tv service poor,very quiet and great view.
We are not able to book for 2012 because prefrence is given to previous guest

Nice vacation

The Islander has to be one of the best condo's on the beach . You can't stay at a nicer place for the money ! The staff is great and included with a fair price on the room you get an excellent ammenity package which we used daily and saved several dollars . The only problem was the lack of beach which I know is out of their control . Hope to return and stay here again !

Outstanding Stay, Great Staff!!

As most, I was a bit reserved about my expectations going into the vacation. I must admit I was very impressed with the condo, the view and the cleanliness of the premise. Staff member, (Sheila) went out of her way to accomodate me and my family. The stores and eatery was close by and the cost was right along expectation. I really didnt want to leave! I will be going back to Destin because of the tremendous time I had.

I have been a loyal return visitor for over 10 years

I have been coming to the Islander for over ten years at least two times a summer each year. My children feel like it's their second home. I know the economy is bad, but I would much rather have garbage bags provided to me than an Islander coffeee cup. I spent money that I really needed to spend on needed things rather than a vacation so I was a bit put out when I called for a garbage bag and was told that they were no longer provided past the one that you got in the can when you arrived. Other than that, we have always loved the Islander.

Winter Stay

We had been long time renters at Jetty East and decided to try the Islander after our daughter and son-in-law brought their three children to the Islander. We fell in love with unit 706, the view, the layout, the furnishing.
The only thing is that the king matress is not firm enough for us old folks. Time to replace.

Great Anniversary Getaway

The weather was beautiful and the beach was great. This was the second year we stayed in this unit and we enjoyed the stay very much. We took long walks on the beach and enjoyed the peace and quite of the vacation property.
During this season it is very nice because there are the snowbirds that rent out the majority of the rentals. This is a good thing if you are going for rest and relaxation. The view out of this unit is awesome. There are really no words to describe the morning view with the dolphins playing in the water. We will be going back again.
