Beautiful facility, Our unit was tastefully decorated, very clean and comfortable, Our compliments to the owners of unit 708,
This was our first time to visit Destin and we were pleasantly surprised and we will definitely return.
The Islander staff was very helpful and pleasant. We thank you for a very nice stay...but we wish it was a little warmer. -

We loved unit 708 and would rent it again. The decor was out of a magazine...lovely (looked like they worked with a designer). The view of the gulf was spectacular. The condo was roomy and the location on Holiday Isle was fantastic. The Islander had great kids programs, easy parking, and a wide and deep stretch of beach. My only complaint was that it was lacking a few items that travelers take for granted. It would have been nice to have had a hair dryer in the unit. Also, in the kitchen there was no salt/pepper and very few pots, pans, trays, etc. The pros definitely outweigh the cons. Would definitely recommend this unit to friends.

We have stayed at the Islander for about 14 years and in this condo for about 4 years. It is clean, furnished nicely with a beautiful view of the ocean. The Islander recently underwent a substantial renovation and the changes are great. We like Holiday Isle because it is quiet but close to the "action". The complex is right on the beach. It is a great place for families as well as just couples. Definately give the Islander a try.

Olathe KansasThis is a great location but an average room.
Left on 08/17/2011 for a stay in July 2011
The location is outstanding and the staff is terrific. The downside is that the room is run down even though I had been told it had been remodeled. The walkway to get to the room is extremely scary, but I am afraid of heights. Good place but not for the price.

We really enjoyed our stay in condo 708. My kids had such a wonderful time they suggested we go back every year. So we will definitely be back next year. The view was perfect and the staff were very friendly. I have a child that is disabled so my only complaint was there was no handicap ramp to get him down to the beach but he still had a blast and was in the pool and on the beach everyday. The other complaint is that the bathroom hardware needs to be changed because the rooms are to beautiful to have ugly hardware. But it was definitely worth every penny and will be back every year! It won't let me rate my stay but it gets 5 stars!

Our condo at the Islander was wonderful. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed our stay. Only minor inconveniences noted. The large flat screen TV was a bonus, but there was some difficulty is playing Dvds for the kids during downtime. The remotes were confusing to operate. Other than that, things were perfect! Definitely will stay there again!

SHAWANO WIA very unusual start, A pleasant ending.
Left on 03/31/2011 for a stay in January 2011
the weather at the end more or less made up for the rocky start. cannot understand why we were told we could check in on the 7th of jan. when there was obviously no possibility to do that. In our case, we are unhappy we weren't able to stay the extra week thru the 31st of march.enough said! We feel the bad situation was handled by the staff vey professionally and at the end of the day, bad memories were generally erased. we are looking forward to the forthcoming season, and hopefully seeing old friends and staff. with all that said, because we were not part of the grandfather rates for this fall and feel like we should have been included, we will compare similar housing in the area.

Huntsville, TexasCan my family move in?
Left on 03/24/2010 for a stay in March 2010
My children said this was the best vacation and even better than Disney World. The amenities were outstanding and we look forward to coming back but in the summer when there is more available. The heated pool was outstanding since it was a bit chilly. Love the beach and the ocean view. Loved the patio, rooms, colors and so on. Having dishes and all was very helpful. There was only one problem...we recommend a tankless water heater. We ran out of hot water in one shower and would have to wait 30 more minutes for the next person and for a family of four that can be a bit challenging with all the sand and salt. We have a tankless water heater at home and it is heaven. Other than that we LOVED are stay and can't wait to come back! We are going to make it our family get away! I'm in love with Destin!
Looking forward to coming back to our get away from life,

Left on 03/04/2010 for a stay in February 2010
When we arrived, we were treated to an immaculately cleaned condo, with a breathtaking view of the gulf. We felt quite at home, everyone was friendly, and met many wonderful couples. There were many activities planned at the Islander, including a Canada Day celebration with many other Canadian snowbirds. Islander staff were helpful & accommodating.
There were a few very minor problems in 708 which I am sure will be addressed before we return in February 2011.

michiganThankful to have a great condo for Thanksgiving
Left on 12/02/2009 for a stay in November 2009
We arrived on the day before Thanksgiving and were able to check in early because the condo was ready. The folks at the desk were knowledgable, efficient, and friendly. The home was well appointed and comfortable. We found almost everything we needed in the kitchen. We had soap for the dishwasher but no soap for doing dishes in the sink. We had plenty of towels, and showers were always warm and plentiful.
We really have no complaints; everything was as expected.
By the way, on the second day (a holiday, no less), we managed to lock ourselves out of the condo. Feeling foolish and sorrowful, we called the emergency numbers and within 30 minutes, Brad had arrived and cheerfully opened our door to let us back into our temporary home. He could not have been friendlier.
Thanks to all. -

Left on 04/29/2009 for a stay in April 2009
The condo was nice but had a mildew odor. After turning the air down lower it still did not help. That was the only downfall about the condo. The elevators are very slow, at one point we waited 10 minutes for an elevator. I recommend if you are in a rush, take the stairs if you can.

Lafayette, LaPleasant Stay
Left on 04/02/2009 for a stay in July 2008
My friends and I had a nice, pleasant stay during this visit to The Islander.
I have stayed there before and have consistantly had a pleasant experience.
The condo was not "fancy", but was clean, had plenty of space and has everything you need for a nice stay at the beach.
The staff is friendly and helpful, and I especially like that you can get fresh linens as needed. (Not many condo rentals in which I have stayed have this option.)
The price is also very reasonable.
I would (and have) recommended this property. -

Left on 03/23/2009 for a stay in July 2008
This condo was really nice. It was nicely decorated and clean. However the Islander itself was a little disappointing. There seemed to be alot of kids there under the age of 21 staying with no adult. At night they were loud and woke us up at 2-3am in the morning. The pool was nice but the beach didn't have a large area to put your stuff. We had no problems with the condo itself but would probably not stay at the Islander again.

Lafayette, IndianaNice place
Left on 03/23/2009 for a stay in April 2008
It was a lovely place and a wonderful view -- which is what we wanted. Having never done this before I guess I was just naive -- I was very disappointed that there wasn't so much as dishsoap under the sink; or cleaners; or laundry detergent. I just thought it would be more turnkey. There were dishes, but not much else. I guess I need to ask more questions before I stay in a condo. I did think all the little amenities that were included, like minature golf were a very nice addition.
