The condo is very large with 2 living areas, 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. It needs some updating when it comes to the electronics, television and internet service. It could also use some better utensils and cooking pots and pans in the kitchen.
Views are great, the location is excellent and other than no access to the fitness center (owner's only) it had good access. -

This condo had many lights that did not work, the kitchen had very few utensils, dishes, or supplies. We have rented a place every Spring Break for over 10 years and this is by far the worst. They call it the penthouse but the only reason is because it is on the top floor and the cost. There wasn't any dishsoap, soap, toilet paper,trash bags, etc. or any of the amenities that we found in other places. Most give you a few days worth and then the renter can replace what was used. We had many friends that rented in the same building that week that by far had way better conditions and paid less. I would go back to the Empress, but not this specific unit.

The views from both the gulfside and bayside balconys was always spectacular. Furniture was more than comfortable. Location in Destin could not be better.
On the negative side, internet connectivity was very weak, low water pressure in master bathroom and hot water took forever to get there. Could supply more garbage bags and T.V. should be up-graded to flat screen. Thoroughly enjoyable and restfull vacation. Also liked the discounts and free beach chairs. -

Empress 1201 was just right for our family of 5 during our stay. Views were spectacular and had every comfort of home. A few things could have been better. The sitting room was missing the TV. Also by the end of our week the dining room carpet was getting very wet and spongy so there must have been a leak somewhere either from shower in 2nd br or airconditioner. Also a minor thing was the master br had the smaller bed so my wife and I had to stay in the 2nd br which had the larger bed but much smaller bathroom. Our 12 yr daughter loved it though. There also could have been a TV in the 3rd br with the twin beds for our 2 boys and their Xbox which we had to set up in our br. Those are all very minor and we loved our stay. Also could have been a bigger grill on the deck to bbq. We will definitely be back and recommend Empress and Seascape to our friends. Also should have been given 2 cards for the discounts. A few times my wife was at beach and I was golfing and we only had one card. Both golf courses honored the discounted price though so that was fine. Fitness facility at Empress definitely needs an upgrade. And tee boxes at Seascape golf need Hole markers. First time players don't know what hole they are on. Thx, Rob Schmidt
