Service was good.
The house had dust in the bedrooms.
The house was average.
The location was great.Amenities would have been better if the seniors could have used the elavator.
The backyard is in dire need of upkeep,no one could walk or play in the grass because of the the stickers or torns.
Overall we liked the house. -

We rented the Jewel in the Sand for a beach trip for our entire office and their families. This was the perfect place for such a large group. The home was beautiful and had plenty of room to accomodate everyone. It is located right on the beach and a gorgeous view was available from almost everywhere in the home. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone!! The only thing that could have made it better was for the elevator to work. The stairs were hard on one of our pregnant mothers and a grandmother that was helping with some of the children.

We had my daughter's wedding on the beach and 20 people stayed at the house. The house was huge and could easily sleep more. We were very pleased with the location, great neighborhood. The house is decorated beautifully, top quality everything! I wish the landscaping on the patio was nicer, there was none, but the beach makes up for it. The house next store had weeds all over and seemed like no one ever stayed there. None of this would have mattered if we were not having a wedding there and would not have changed my mind about staying there, just one small complaint about a great home. The water and beach is the prettiest I have ever seen, better than Hawaii, Mexico or the Caribbean. Will definetly come back to Destin.
Compass resorts was so helpful and responded very quickly to any of our needs. Great staff!
Highly recommend Jewel in the Sand and Compass Resorts. -

Compass Resorts staff are incredible. The house is beautiful and in a great location.
Elevator didn't work so not handicap accessible.
We have rented Jewel in the past and will return. -

The house is great, very spacious. It is also in a great location, it seemed only minutes from everywhere. The beach behind the house is beautiful too. Overall, the house is perfect. The house and beach gave me a fairytale wedding, at least that is what my guests said.
Now this review is going from the house to the experience I had with the HOa Manager. If you are havinga an event at the house. Make sure you contact the Home Owners association to let them know. They will want a "refundable" deposit, which is understandable. But apparently, the Home Owner Manager has a pattern of causing problems for guests. It seems that she starts early the day of the event to build up reasons to keep the money. She became such a nuisance that we had to tell her to stay off the property. She called the police later that night, half way through my wedding but they left within 10 minutes because there was nothing for them to do. They seemed frustrated because I think they have dealt with her before. Long story short, we finally got the money back but had to work for it. It took pictures, video and maintenace crew texting her to make it all happen. -

This is the Best vacation that I have ever had. The beach is better than Hawaii in all aspects! We had 23 people staying in this house and it never did seem crowded. We were able to all eat together both inside and out. The kitchen is just right for several cooks in the kitchen! We had the beach pretty much to ourselves in the evening for wiffleball, washers and of course crab hunting. Only down side was the neighboring family whose kids like to destroy sand sculptures.

The house had bugs. We encountered roaches on multiple occasions. The floor were dirty..we did not wear shoes in the house to keep sand out of the home and our feet stayed very dirty throughout the stay. The internet was down when we got there but help came quickly on multiple occasions to help get it going. Multiple light bulbs were burned out throughout the house. The biggest problem was the TV downstairs did not work. No VCR on the big TV on the upper floor which left only the big TV on main floor for children to watch movies together which is where the adults wanted to be. Overall the home was lovely, and I think everyone had a good time. The weather was perfect and the beach beautiful.

This is my first time renting a beach home. I wish I had done this many years ago. Everything I needed was at my fingertips! My family wants to schedule next year's vacation at the very same home. No more hotels for me! I've already recommended this home to several friends.

The house was incredible. We had 4 families - 8 adults and 10 kids (ages 7 - 13). The accommodations were great with large bedrooms and Tv's in each of the bedrooms. You can walk out your backdoor and onto the beach. The location is great in the middle of Destin. Traffic can be a problem but overall perfect location close to all your needs.
The management of the property needs to improve. I think we were the first group in awhile and I don't think the property manager even went to the house. We were sent check in information saying to just go to the house and everything you need will be there. In order to be on the beach in front of the house, you need wristbands. I asked about the wristbands in advance and was told you don't need them (you do and you will be checked about every hour). On our drive from Texas we were emailed a different set of arrival instructions telling us we have to go to Compass (manager) first. Once at Compass we were told the parking passes are in the welcome basket.
Once at the house, there is no welcome basket or parking passes. The blinds in the beautiful master were broken with one wrapped in the cord. Once unwrapped it fell to the floor. Two of the toilets did not work. In the main sitting area, one of the recliners was broken. It was very apparent that nobody had been there in awhile. They did have someone come over to fix most things.
We left at 6:00 am and left the parking passes and wristbands on the counter. We received an email on our drive home telling us that we had not returned the wristbands and that they had charges our credit card $700. They did have several of our cell phone numbers but did not call.
Overall the management company did nothing for you other than make you drive to them to pick up what they require you to have. Paying a premium for the rental gets you a great house but zero service.
Make sure you understand and re-confirm everything prior to your arrival!

This house was perfect for our large family to get together. Everyone had their own space yet there were plenty of areas that all of us could hang out too. It was so nice to walk right out of the back door onto the beach. Any things we needed were taken care of promptly by the rental company. We will definitely be staying at Jewel in the Sand again!

the house was great. the location to the beach is unrivaled on the gulf coast. the back deck is awesome. the kitchen was fabulous. we had 8 full families with kids from 7 mos to 25 yrs old. everyone had a blast. we had 30+ people and did not have a problem sleeping all of them. great beach home. we pray the beaches will be ok for us to return next year!!!
