The cons:There were two refrigerators one in the 1st flr & one on the 2nd flr.Not big enough for food for 23 people. No connection to water line for ice maker on the first floor 2nd flr frig ice maker didn't work correctly.need a ice maker separate from the frig.We had to buy bag ice.kitchen not equipped for 23 people not enough glassware silverware pots/pans coffee mugs etc backyard needed a cleanup.no place for small kids to play thornes in yard.one incident on the beach. It is suppose to be a private beach but someone set up a volleyball net and people from the public beach were bringing their boom boxes and coolers over to play. We called to have security take care of the situation but it took them so long to get there that they were done playing by the time they arrived. Needless to say we couldn't sit on our balcony's because of the loud boom box. There was suppose to be a hide-a-bed on the first floor but it was on the 2nd level which is the main level for TV and the kitchen. There is also a hide-a-bed on the 4th floor it was more private but neither of the beds had a decent mattress. It was like sleeping on box springs. We accomodated one person but had to call to have them bring a mattress for the other two people sleeping on the hide-a-bed. Need better lighting in the 1st floor bedrooms. Very dark. The pros: It was a beautiful house. Nicely decorated. Plenty of room for the 23 people we had. Beds other than the hide-a-beds were comfortable. Great entrance to and from the beach and renting the chairs & umbrellas for the week is the best way to go. They put them out early morning and take them in early evening. I do have another suggestion for the owners. I would take the enormous bathroom in the master suite and make another bedroom. It was beautiful but a waste of space. We loved the (3) balconies. I do want to thank amy (i think that was her name) When I called she jumped right on the situation.
Gorgeous home with plenty of room for a large group.

We rented the Jewel in the Sand for a beach trip for our entire office and their families. This was the perfect place for such a large group. The home was beautiful and had plenty of room to accomodate everyone. It is located right on the beach and a gorgeous view was available from almost everywhere in the home. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone!! The only thing that could have made it better was for the elevator to work. The stairs were hard on one of our pregnant mothers and a grandmother that was helping with some of the children.

This is my first time renting a beach home. I wish I had done this many years ago. Everything I needed was at my fingertips! My family wants to schedule next year's vacation at the very same home. No more hotels for me! I've already recommended this home to several friends.

The house was incredible. We had 4 families - 8 adults and 10 kids (ages 7 - 13). The accommodations were great with large bedrooms and Tv's in each of the bedrooms. You can walk out your backdoor and onto the beach. The location is great in the middle of Destin. Traffic can be a problem but overall perfect location close to all your needs.
The management of the property needs to improve. I think we were the first group in awhile and I don't think the property manager even went to the house. We were sent check in information saying to just go to the house and everything you need will be there. In order to be on the beach in front of the house, you need wristbands. I asked about the wristbands in advance and was told you don't need them (you do and you will be checked about every hour). On our drive from Texas we were emailed a different set of arrival instructions telling us we have to go to Compass (manager) first. Once at Compass we were told the parking passes are in the welcome basket.
Once at the house, there is no welcome basket or parking passes. The blinds in the beautiful master were broken with one wrapped in the cord. Once unwrapped it fell to the floor. Two of the toilets did not work. In the main sitting area, one of the recliners was broken. It was very apparent that nobody had been there in awhile. They did have someone come over to fix most things.
We left at 6:00 am and left the parking passes and wristbands on the counter. We received an email on our drive home telling us that we had not returned the wristbands and that they had charges our credit card $700. They did have several of our cell phone numbers but did not call.
Overall the management company did nothing for you other than make you drive to them to pick up what they require you to have. Paying a premium for the rental gets you a great house but zero service.
Make sure you understand and re-confirm everything prior to your arrival!
