Chattanooga, TNMemory of a lifetime

The house was absolutely gorgeous!!! We got married in Destin and had our bridal party stay with us at the beach house. The house was spotless except the pool but as soon as I called, they had it cleaned. Some of the furniture has been moved around, which kind of threw us off and caused a bit of confusion with the sleeping arrangements. Both of the queen sofas were in the living room and not as shown. And the striped couch is actually a futon now. Other than that, I would not have changed a thing!!! The beach was about six houses down. We ended up having to have our ceremony in the backyard because of the weather and had a blast. I would definitely recommend this house.

This place was overall good, but not great or excellent. House was ready at time of check-in. Pool in backyard was great. Propane gas grill...could have been better. Had to call office for wireless internet access password though. Going to the beach requires a short walk (roughly 8-10 houses down the down). Rooms were great. Wished it had one more bathroom though. No hair-dryer available. Iron/ironboard was there. Kitchen was nicely stocked with necessities.
The biggest complaint is the TV, especially in the main family room. It's too small for family viewing! It's only a 26in flat panel TV. -

The property was very much as described. A major asset is the large private pool with a bar, lounge and bathroom area right there on the ground floor.
But, you don't have a fridge down there so you have to operate out of ice coolers or track up and down the stairs every time you want a drink. This could be dangerous depending on what you're drinking.Owners should add this feature and point it out in their listing.
The beach access is right at the end of Shirah street but there is limited parking there. Take a pop up tent with you and go to the beach and stake your spot early (before 7 am) Otherwise, you are in for a walk with all your gear. We set up our tent and chairs there each morning and nothing was bothered or taken. -

When we arrived about 30 minutes after we got there still unpacking the power went out but that was mother nature not SR. Well once the power came back on 4 hours later one of the airconditioners was broke it was 85 degrees in all the main floor bed rooms so we called. They had a maintenace guy come out and say we will have to have a heat and air guy come so another hour or so later they showed up cleaned some stuff and informed us that they had already been to this location 4-5 times for the same thing. That's really frustrating so here we spent our entire first day there dealing with the power out and no air. it was 98 outside this day. Then we go upstairs to the master bedroom which was nice but the fire alarm is hanging from the ceiling just hanging there and we laid down on the bed like really and there was chucks of food all over the bedding so I pulled back the sheets and there were hairs on the pillows like they weren't clean it was really nasty. so we worked around that and moved on trying not to let anything ruin our 1x a year vacation. then the last and final day we are there we spend all day on the water in a boat so we are exhausted and I come home take a shower in the master bedroom upstairs and sit on the bed and the bed breaks. So I call again about to cry because this was the first time we used this company and it wasn't cheap so we wanted what we paid for. Well we called and they sent a maintence guy out at 10pm and he told us well I can try to fix but I have already been out here 2-3 times already to fix this same thing before. And there was another brokwn box spring in another bed room the kids delt with all week and the maintenance guy told us that can't be fixed has to be replaced. Well even though we checked in at 4pm we still had to check out by 10am so seems we lost 2 days somewhere and that didn't seem fair at all.

I highly recommend The alexander House to anyone visiting the Destin area and who need a little more room. My husband and adult children and their families stayed with us at some point during the week of our stay and the home was roomy and everyone had their own space.
My grandchildren, ages 6 to 12 enjoyed the bunk room and pool tremendously and for parents and grandparents who didn't want to trek to the beach everyday was a lifesaver.
The beach was just a short walk from the house and convenient.
The house itself was located conveniently to shopping and eating. The house was equipped with everything needed to prepare meals. We couldn't have asked for more.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone with multiple family members. There are lots of stairs, though, and probably isn't a good fit for anyone with knee problems or who has trouble climbing stairs.
The management company was super. They answered all my questions without hesitation and even offered early check-in and late check-out for our convenience.
We would stay here again and hope to return soon!
Thanks for a great stay! It was super! -

They have thought of everything with this house. We had guest over for a cookout so we gathered in the party room at the pool. Everyone was able to hang out inside an air cond. area on hang out on the patio. The kids were able to swim and still have easy access to food. The kitchen was very well furnished with anything you needed. I was able to bake a cake after we arrived and had access to anything needed for that. Never have stayed anywhere that i did not feel more at home as I did in this house. The day we were to leave we had car trouble and needed a later check out. One phone call to the resort and we were granted a later check out at no charge. This was a life saver as we ended up having to haul our vehicle back to Georgia. This gave us one less thing to worry about. Already looking foward to next year despite the ending. Thank you Southern Resorts!

We went to Destin for my neices wedding. There were at least 4 different homes rented. This was the one with the best pool, best yard, largest living area, Pantry, kitchen and dining area.
The location of the reception ended up being moved to our home because of this. It was a beautiful place to stay, and we all loved it.
The cleaning service was superb. We felt like we entered a four star hotel. -

Pool was the great part of this rental. House was overall good but starting to show some age. Could use some paint and overall cleaning. The design of the house missed the boat by not having another bathroom on the kitchen level.
Decks were great and we had a great time being outside most of the time. -

The house was perfect and we loved the big backyard and private pool. We truly had a wonderful time and would rent this house again in a heartbeat. If there was a negative it was the public beach access. There was public beach access a short walk down the street and it was great for our morning walks, however, the amount of actual public beach was VERY limited. We had to walk a long distance to find an area of public beach to spend the day. After the first day we went to Henderson Beach State Park just a short drive from the house and that worked out best. Again, great experience and super service from Southern Resorts.

We really enjoyed the house. It was great. We received great response to some minor issues we had. Our only concern was the beach. We had to go about 3 blocks to get to a public beach. The beach at the end of our street was all private and taken up by the condos. There was also not much to do close by such as renting wave runners or parasailing.
Next year we plan to rent closer to Frangista Beach instead of Crystal Beach. -
