The Boat House is beautiful. Few issues: The outside grill is ready to collapse, table umbrellas were broke leaving one small umbrella as the only shade in the yard (thank goodness we brought our canopy) there was hidden garbage throughout the house (sucker sticks behind the VCR players, cigarette butts in the mulch outside, dirty dishes in the cabinets) - we took pictures on our arrival so not to be responsible for these things - the VRC players are outdated and the two small TVs do not work so the kids were disappointed, the place is as a whole pretty dusty. The top floor gets unbearably hot - you definitely need all 4 fans to tolerate that level. The great aspects of the house absolutely outweighed these issues. The pool is fabulous and location to the beach and walking distance to shopping is perfect. The wrap around porch and front and back yard is very nice and inviting. Note to families who have small children - the rooms are a bit hard to determine online, however the setup on the 2nd floor is perfect for parents who want privacy yet want to be close to little ones - king size bed large TV big sitting area giant walk in closet/ changing area, huge bathroom (no tub- but the walk-in shower is giant). 1st floor has two queen size bedrooms, a full size sleeper sofa in living room, full bath with shower/tub, and the top floor has a full size sleeper sofa. walkout porch on every level. Our family had a great time. We would definitely return and definitely stay in this unit/ or with Newman Dailey again - and you can't beat the perks with Newman Dailey, the race track is a must visit and the kids love it. We hope for updates to the unit and maybe that it receive a deep clean. - and new umbrellas at the pool :)

Newman-Dailey was wonderful to reserve and take care of things. The boat was a wonderful home. Just a short walk (appox 200 yards) to the beach, located in a residentail neighborhood. The home was just as described and clean and ready to use. Shops, restaraunts and other activities were also within walking distance or a within 1-5 mile drive such as parasailing, gulf fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, golf, putt-putt, go-carts, cruising the coast road, or just doing nothing. The house has a pool that is a typical, small residential pool with a decent size grass yard for kids to play as well, but we really had more things to do in the area so that we didn't really even want to use that feature. Spring Break weather has the air and water still cool, but we had a great time enjoying everything this area is rightfully famous for - sand, sea and vacation. Enjoy. We'll be back.

Two bedrooms downstairs are identical in size, with one bath between them and it was perfect. Plenty of seating space in living room, huge TV for big Ole Miss/Mississippi State game, wonderful master suite on second floor with tons of space, and great outdoor seating areas on all three floors. We could have easily slept 6 more people, and anyone with children will love the twin beds at the top of the second-floor stairs. The third-floor loft area is also great for kids or for someone who needs to work away from everyone else on their computer. And proximity to everything was about as perfect as you could get. We'll be back!

Our stay at the Boathouse was wonderful!! From check in to check out Newman Dailey was great to work with. Love the Crystal Beach neighborhood which has easy to access to the beach and everything else. Having a private pool is a plus for us in the evenings when we are grilling and just hanging out. We will definitely use Newman Dailey to book our next stay!

we always use Newman-Dailey each year for a week long stay in Destin since 2004. We have alway recv'd excellant customer service. The air stopped working the second night and the next day someone came by 10:30 and fixed the problem. The dryer quit working and and someone came the next day and was not able to fix it so a new one was delivered by late thursday even though we were without a dryer they dropped off clean towels and offered to do our laundry which was very nice/ The man who delivered the dryer hit my car and with the dryer and failed to mention it me or my husband I tried not to let this upset my vacation, and the lawn service came to mow the lawn and we had to leave the pool area and go inside for safety reasons-other than those 4 issues we had we do love staying at the Boathouse and we like giving using Newman-Dailey for their attention to customer service. The employees at Newman are always friendly and treat me as if we have been friends for a long time I like the personal treatment I receive when they call or send emails you could stay some place else for less - but you get what you pay for!! See you guys summer of 2013!

We enjoyed the Boathouse. It is close to the beach and in a nice area of Destin. Inside, the house was nice and clean but I wasn't overly impressed with the outdoors. The outdoor furniture by the pool was a bit lacking. Some of the umbrellas were broken and the furniture was really old. The grass was also not mowed in the backyard and we were hoping that would be a fun place for the kids to play in an enclosed area. I asked the office to mow it at the beginning of our stay and when we left a week later, it still hadn't been mowed. It was disappointing service for the amount of money we paid.
Other than that, the house is nice and comfortably fit two families. The kids loved the house, especially the loft area. I agree with other reviewers that the third floor is too hot to really enjoy. The master bedroom and closet are great!
Overall, we had a lot of fun, I just wish that my request about the lawn had been taken care of. -

This year marked the 10th year of a "school's out for summer" getaway for a group of teachers from Mississippi. We had a wonderful time, as always; yet, this was our first year to use Newman-Dailey. I won't be using the bigger named rental agencies again! From the time I booked in March till we arrived in June, it was an easy booking.
More importantly, the Boathouse was perfect! We loved having the private pool. Walk to the beach was not far and the beach access was very nice. The only thing we would change is to find a bigger house next year so we may invite more of our teacher friends. -

This is a beautiful home will all the amenities within a short walk from the ocean. We received excellent service. The door code we were given did not work and someone was there within 15 minutes to solve the problem. Everything we needed was within a short walking distance; including the beach, shopping, a wide variety of restaurants and a grocery store. I highly recommend the Boathouse to any family or group looking for a home away from home. We had an excellent vaction and a beautiful Christmas on the beach.

This was a very comfortable home with lots of extras in the kitchen. I will definitely stay here again. The internet access was a plus as well.
The boathouse is located within minutes of bookstores, groceries, and delightful shopping areas.
And walking to the beach is a breeze.

My family spent the week of July 18th in the Boathouse and it was a wonderful place to stay . We have used Newman-Dailey for the past 8 years and all of their rental properties are excellent. We always rent a house with a private pool, which is wonderful. We spent several hours a day in the pool. I would recommend this house to anyone children.

I would really rate The Boathouse a 4 1/2, if I could. The house was great for our big group of people. The half I would like to take off for the house, was the room on the third floor. We were planning on using that as one of our sleeping places, and to have it as a place the kids could hang out watch tv. The room was terribly hot! Even with the fans going it was very uncomfortable to even be in. So really, that room was never even used.
I do have to say as far as location to the beach, it was perfect. We were able to walk to the beach everyday, which was great because there is not a lot of parking near the beach area. The pool was the icing on the cake! If we weren't at the beach, we were in the pool!
Overall, The Boathouse is a great property. We are already planning our next trip to Destin, because we loved it there. More people are planning to come with us, so we will now have to find a bigger property! And lastly, Newman-Daily was great to deal with! Thanks Katie! -

It was a great week. Weather was hot but didn't keep us from having one of our best vacations ever. The Newman-Dailey people couldn't have been more nice or more helpful. There was a storm that came through Thursday night and knocked out our A/C. It was fixed the next day and they had to replace the power supply to the A/C and the compressor. Can't wait to go back to Destin, we were in walking distance of the beach and Destin Commons. We are telling everyone how nice, clean and beautiful the house was.

House itself was clean & well maintained, the dishwasher seemed 2wash dishes extremely long and
3rd floor was not really used very much ,not much cool air up there, the house is near the beach
and we enjoyed our vacation this time like the previous years we visited Destin , we 'll be back again next year but we always want to try different homes each time we go there.
The check-n personnel at the main office was also very accommodating (we arrived 15 mins after 5pm closing . Thanks FL for another memorable vacation.

I loved the house and it's spacious layout. The location was waliking distance to the beach shopping and restaurants. The pool was wonderful. My only warning is that upstairs loft was extreamly hot and usable for sleeping. If you are looking to sleep 8-10 it is great but if renting in the Summer don't plan on using that room.

Beautiful home, the fireplaces were great...
the beds were comfortable.
Only regret we had was that we had not asked for the pool to be heated before we arrived..wasnt heated for swimming til 3 days after our arrival....however after it got heated up it was wonderful!!!
