We found our stay at Beachside Inn to be everything that we had read about online! We arrived Thanksgiving Day, so the office was closed, but our room was ready for us, complete with a delicious loaf of bread, and the instructions for retrieving the room code and general information were just as described. We met both Peggy and Kelly in the course of our stay, and they too were just as described in the reviews we read; caring, friendly, helpful, etc. The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the hotel and surrounding area was quiet and peaceful. We brought a 75 lb German Shepherd, and although she is very well behaved, we were concerned that a dog that large would not be welcomed. Instead, she was complimented, admired, and welcomed everywhere we went, including the coffee shop, where she enjoyed lounging as we had our morning coffee... Camille's restaurant was very good as well. Access to the beach was quick and safe and while it was too cold to swim, it was warm enough to dangle our feet in the hot tub! We would return again with or without a pet! The entire trip was very enjoyable and we were very impressed with Newman Dailey property management as well. They are clearly very customer driven. Would recommend without hesitation!
Will definitely return!

From the first hello on the phone to book up until the last goodbye, our experience was excellent! The room was spacious, beds were oh so comfortable, location was perfect, Camille's being onsite was convenient, and onsite scooter rental was fun! The fact that we were not on HWY 98 was great! I loved the family feel and quietness of the location.
Exactly what I was hoping for!

I had read a review that was what I wanted to hear and sure enough when we arrived it was all true! We strolled in to the lobby to check in with with our dog Maggz after a 6 hour drive. It was all so comfortable and Peggy came from behind the desk to pet our dog and say hello. Kellie, the other front desk manager was just as good with him the next day along with the lovely woman taking care of the rooms. Our dog is so important to us so the attention they gave him was wonderful. The rooms were super clean and well decorated for a family beachy place. My kids loved the two level pool and I loved the sushi restaurant and cafe. My son had a fever and I ordered him a smoothie. The server wrote a get well note to him on the cup and he was thrilled! The neighborhood was adorable, the beaches were beautiful. Our beds were comfy. We had a little trouble with Wifi but the hotel staff was all over it and got it taken care of. For our family it was just what we needed and we will plan to go back again for sure!

We very much enjoyed our stay! The rooms were spacious and clean, beach access is wonderful, and the pool was very well maintained. We do wish that housekeeping could have cleaned the rooms earlier in the day (it was usually around 3-4 in the afternoon). However, when she did get to us to clean she was very nice and did a wonderful job. All of the staff was friendly and it was nice to see the same faces working each day. They would ask how our trip was going and if we needed anything when passing by. Overall, our experience was great!
It was okay

I Stayed in destin at the resort and my experience was okay. I checked in at 4:55 and the office closed at 5:00. The front desk clerk gave me the wrong code to the room, so I had too wait and can call the emergency number. The front desk lady also didn't tell me that I had to put the parking decal in window, I had to find out on my own. The shower had hair in it. The only thing that made me feel better about the stay was the restaurant, That is a must eat place. I was also thinking this was a nice bed and breakfast type romantic place. The front desk person told me it was and it was just another hotel room. Not a romantic getaway. Just for Older people.
Doing it again soon

I had a blast, the Hubby and I don't get away too often. We have now found our annual trip with the four legged family members. The best place for pets, location and budget. Real clean, all except for the trash recepticle for the hotel. (Smelly)gate was always open (not good)
Great place to stay

Family of 4, 4 nights - This year we went for location oppose to size. Felt the location was perfect...during our stay it was very quiet at night..no complaints.
I would stay here again if it were just my husband and me..but with kids we decided space was more important.

We stay at Beachside every year and at different times...spring, summer and fall. The rooms are always extremely clean, the bedding neat and clean and plenty of towels. The pool and spa are clean and refreshing. We enjoy the dinner from the restuarant and breakfast and snacks at Camille's.

We booked online after vary carefully checking reviews, and doing comparisons and other research. They didn't have great photos, so we were suprised by the fact that it is actually a motel.. not hotel.
The rooms were clean, the reception was very friendly. The problem was the onsite restaurant. Because of the traffic, the walkways were dirty and smelled like the back of a restaurant.
The employees hanging out by the pool, or in otherwise clear visual and smelling shot while on smoke breaks, wasn't ideal either.
On our second day the cleaning crew, did not bring us new towels, did not restock the coffee, soaps, etc, and only made one bed... very strange.
The free wifi didn't work in our hotel room, and there was no fix offered or investigated.
Upon being asked to review this room, they think we stayed in something called "idyllic 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath home". In fact we stayed at the motel that they also own... suggesting that they internal management system is lacking.
Overall, the site would have been fine, but the impact of Camille's restaurant on the hotel guests, coupled with the overall level of service was a bit of a downer. Read more
Response from Newman-Dailey Resort Properties - 07/23/2011
Thank you so much for posting a review for us. We love to hear from our guests in order to move closer to excellence.
I believe our houskeeping staff at the Inn are the "Best on the Beach"!. The only reason they would not make a bed is if there were personal items on the bed. They are not allowed. At any time during office hours extra supplies can be requested. If a do-not-disturb sign is placed outside of the door then the houskeepers will not enter. Otherwise rooms are re-stocked daily. There may have been an error, I cannot tell as I did not hear from you during your stay?
It is unfortunate that your experience was not completely satisfactory.
Employees smoking on or around the pool is unacceptable! Please accept our utmost apology. The situation has been addressed and hopefully will not occur again. Camille's management was also informed regarding smoking and cleanliness. Immediate action was taken.
Regarding our WIFI I cannot imagine that a guest would be ignored when facing an issue of any kind? Please contact me at your convenience as I would like to know more details. I am not aware of any guests experiencing WIFI problems that was not remedied?
Once again thank you for your review. I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully serving you in the near future.

ok, first off I found this hotel online. I have been to Destin several times and never stayed on the beach, so I wanted stay somewhere close. This Hotel was right across the road from a public entrance and it was great. Also I was nervous about the quality of the rooms because the price was very affordable.. and they were fantastic, very clean and beds super comfortable. We will Definately be back!! Thanks!
Nice accommodations, good price, close to the beach

The accommodations were close to luxurious. The price was great for the location. Just a very short walk to the beach. Wish there was a bigger breakfast, but it was adequate.
Great last night weekend trip.

We stayed at the Beachside Inn for a wedding. A group of rooms were saved for the wedding guests. Easy check in. The room was large and comfortable. Great access to the beach. We had a dinner at the attached restaurant and it was very good.

happened upon it by accident

Happened upon the Beachside Inn by accident. The manager was very pleasant and very helpful in getting us checked in. The room was not quite ready, but the kids needed to use the restroom and she personally took them upstairs to the room so that they could use the restroom. She also got us some blankets for the room.
The room itself was unusually large. More than enough room to turn around in without hitting someone or bouncing into the furniture. The pillowtop mattress's were very comfortable. Our little 6 year old was could not get upon the bed with out using the cooler as a step. The room also had a fridge and microwave as no additional cost.
The location was directly across from the beach, with their own pavilion with picnic tables, restrooms and showers. Several of the larger chain motels, ea. Hampton Inn and Ramada Inn--their beach access was anywhere from 2 blocks to 6 blocks down the road.
Please keep it a secret!!

The Beachside Inn is the best kept secret for clean, comfy, affordable accomodations in Destin!! PLEASE don't let that get around!!
From the beachy feel of the tile floors to the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel setting, the accomodations are unbeatable.
This was my second time to stay here in 2008 and believe me, I WILL be back! Cookie cutter highrise hotels don't offer the charm that Beachside Inn provides.
Having the option of a pool & hottub or walking just a few steps to the most stunning beach in the U.S. is also a tremendous plus.
My daughter and I loved having breakfast al fresco every morning at the Crystal Beach Coffee Company conveniently located right on the property. Fresh pastry and delicious coffee were the perfect compliment to people watching and enjoying the morning breeze.
