This house was very nice and it is in a great location. Only 2 minutes from the grocery store and many restaurants are within 5 minutes. It is well stocked with everything. The pool was nice it was bigger than I expected and it gets deep. My only two complaints is the street you cross to get to the beach is busier than expected. The other complaint is that most of the mattresses need to be replaced. But overall very nice house and would stay here again. We loved the deck out front, it is large enough to hold everyone.

I have been going to Destin for 3 years and this was one of the nicest home I have stayed in.It was easy to check in but not check out. It is very spacious and close to the beach.It has a nice pool area although the pool was a little small. The aC works well (I had a bad experience with a aC that was not working properly). I really enjoyed this home.

I am a fourth or fifth time customer of Southern Resorts, and this was the first time I can say I truly was not happy... it wasnt too much the house, but more the service of Southern Resorts. The cottage is quaint and perfectly located. The pool is extremely small - it is round, so its more like an oversized hot tub. Every mattress in the house needs to be replaced asap. No one slept comfortably. The mattresses are the hardest/cheapest I have ever slept on. The upkeep on the house itself wasnt that great either. The shower door was barely hanging on and on the first night, came crashing down on me! I had a bruised foot that I could barely walk on for days. Thankfully, it happened to me and not one of the children. The first day we were there, a Southern Resort representative came to the house "to look for the house phone". She barged into every room (she came in my room without even knocking) and looked every where. This made us very uncomfortable. She never found the house phone.. and they never brought us one. I found this to be very peculiar. Overall, the beauty of Destin didn't fail us, but Southern Resorts did. I will rethink who I use next year.

Wonderrul experience. House was clean, ready, and well suited for our family beach vacation. Everything we needed other than food and people was provided. Our only complaint-aminor one though-was the too firm bed in the master bedroom.

The house turned out to be perfect for our family. Everyone had their own space and bathroom. The house was clean and comfortable. The weather was perfect, so really didn't use the TV or DVD, but nice to have the option in each room. The kitchen seemed well equipped. Generous towels and wash clothes provided. It was nice to have a washer and dryer on site in rental. Two draw backs to property. The pool is quite small. For now it works well for us with one small grandchild, but could get tight with more than one or two youngsters. Also, the rental next us (the house for sale) had a very loud family renting and often were yelling at each other, parking in the front of our place, and played very loud music,(which always drowned out our radio so we would have to turned it off). Not certain what Southern Vacation Rentals policy is regarding this type of complaint...we decided to overlook it.
We did use Sunny Days bike rentals, they are listed as a 'perk business' you recommend for a discount. We were very dissatisfied with them. Bikes were late to arrival, charged us for delivery which they state in your perk info that there is no charge for delivery, charged our credit card more than 6 weeks in advance of our stay for the full amount, we had to phone them to ask for a receipt, they did not provide us with everything they had promised for the price, including safety helmets. When the bikes finally arrived late without helmets we were told they would return with the helmets the next day...we never received them or heard from them. You should discontinue Sunny Days Bike Rentals from your perk listings. They provided very poor customer service. Had I known there was a closer bike rental (1 block from the house); I would have used them instead. We do not recommend sunny days bikes rentals.
Don't want to end on a negative note, as our time together was great and the property was excellent!!! We hope to return next year!

The home is nice but, there were old half eaten crabs by the pool and on the porch...one on the beds linen had sand in it and had to be washed before they could be slept in... the living room had not been properly cleaned, trash on the floor... and the dryer did not work, we had not brought many clothes because of the washer and dryer but was unable to use the dryer, was very disappointing

we stayed with 3 family groups including 2 teens and 2 small children and were so comfortable. it is a precious cottage with lovely ceiling and floor colors and decor. just a short walk to the beach and the arrangement around the pool kept it private in spite of being in a busy area - just far enough off hwy 98 to feel more private. very convenient to the mall/movies as well.

We've stayed at Cobia Cottage 2 years in a row and love the house. It's a very easy, short walk to the beach. There is plenty of room for my family (there were 9 of us!) and the kids love the pool in the back to swim at night when they couldn't go to the beach. The furnishings are comfortable and plentiful. We were able to save a lot of money by cooking at the house and not eating out. The grill enabled us to cook most of our food outdoors! It's really a super little house and we'd stay there again!

We loved the size and layout of the house. It was exactly like the pictures online. I love the beach decor and overall feel of the house. The living room is very large, so it worked great for our group of eight. If I could buy a beach house, I would buy one like this. It was very convenient to the beach...closer than I thought. We walked to the beach every day with all of our beach stuff and it was no problem. The kitchen was very well supplied with all the cooking and serving items anyone would need. It even had a shrimp deveiner, which we used. Although the king master bed was fine, I have a complaint about the two queen beds, especially the one downstairs. The queen mattresses needs to be replaced because they slope in the middle. If they are not replaced, this could prevent me from renting again. They are very bad for anyone who has the slightest back problem, which my son-in-law does. Our grandchildren really enjoyed the pool. It is small but just right for younger age children. And of course the beach was beautiful, which is the reason we went to Destin. We will definitely go again.

We had plenty of room and enjoyed the stay very much. This was early in the season and it was on the chilly side and would have enjoyed alot more if the pool water wasn't so cold, would have been nice to have had the pool heated for the money we spent.

The Cobia Cottage is the place to stay in Destin, It's comfortable, affordable, just a short walk to the beach, and just the right size for our family of 12, which included our adult children and various-aged grandchildren. The decor was lovely and the rooms were just the right size. The master was especially great.There were large screen televisions, dvd players, a video game system, books to read and games to play. It is well-stocked with kitchen-ware and has ample pantry, work-space, and a large dining table. The pool is just the right size for lounging when you're tired of the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We called the management a couple of times for more bedding and to check the propane in the gas grill, and they promptly took care of us and even called to verify that our needs were met. The deck was nice for relaxing in the evening breeze, the street was quiet and there was little traffic, and we were very close to Bass Pro and the mall. We will definitely stay there again when we come to Destin.

we had the best vacation. it was easy to make reservations, check in was prompt and easy. the house was big enough for everyone to have their own space when they neede it. the pool was great- bigger than it looked in the pictures. the house was very clean and easy to keep that way!

Cobia Cottage was like our home away from home. A leisurely walk to the ocean for a splash or the cool pool in the back yard-just wonderful! The house was plenty spacious for our family of 8. I can't impress enough how comfortable we felt there and the customer support from Southern Resorts was outstanding from the beginning. Of all our family vacations, this was one of our best. Thanks! Cobia Cottage was clean, safe, and convenient. We had the room we needed to have a wonderful stay. The private pool was terrific for the kids! The short walk to the beach was fun for all of us. The beach was close enough, yet far enough to give us some privacy. We can't wait to return to Cobia Cottage next year!

This is a wonderful beach cottage. This is our second year to return to Cobia as a family. It was just as relaxing and memorable as the first time. We love the decor and the happy feeling you get inside and outside of this perfect beach cottage. There is plenty of room for everyone with a great kitchen and eating area. The pool is nice to come back to and cool off after a long day at the beach. We enjoyed it so much that we are already planning next years trip to our favorite beach cottage.

My family of 5 along with a family of 4 stayed here. We had plenty of room; the upstairs accommodated 5 and had 2 bathrms , so my family had plenty of privacy. The house is so pretty and cozy on the inside. I loved the colors they chose. It is definitely one of my top picks out of all of our stays.

My girlfriends and I take a girls only beach trip to Destin each summer. This was the first house we have rented and we were all so impressed by it! It was decorated just like you would want a beach house to look, had all the amenities you would need and was only about 3 minutes from the sand. There were 12 girls staying at the house and we had more than enough room. And it was nice to have the back patio with the pool, for those that didn't want to get sandy. We will stay here again!

We rented this cute little cottage for my daughter and her friends senior year spring break. We had one of our best times at the beach. The house was a short walk to the beach and easy to get to. Everything we needed was in the house.
we did have a rocky start because of a *&^%$ renter next door who complained about us twice but thankfully he left. My advice to any one wanting a peaceful vacation go some other time than spring break!! My sister and I enjoyed sitting by the pool in the back when wind on the beach picked up. I would definitly rent this house again and would also recommend it to others. -

We evacuated to Destin, Fl. because of Hurricane Gustav. Renting the house was a blessing. My daughter had a baby girl two days before we had to evacuate. When we usually stay in Destin, it is in a condo on the beach. This beach home was perfect for the family. Every one had their own bedroom. Cobia Cottage was so quaint and comfortable, I didn't want to leave. It was one block from the beach and no problem walking there. Everyone enjoyed their stay.

We had a wonderful time and the house was big enough for both my dauthers and their families. The house was in a great place. The only problem was the A/C. It could have been a little cooler, but we had a wonderful vacation. My grandaughters still talk about how they would like to go back and live in the beach house with all their family.
