Haiku, HawaiiGood rest in a comfortable, simple, elegant, quiet apartment.
Left on 10/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This is a beautifully remodled part of a Victorian with a very comfortable couch, kitchen with state if the art appliances, very good bed and a stunning view of Mt. Victoria from the bedroom. Its rare to find a short term rental with good heating. It is within easy walking distance to cafe's and shops. If you are staying for awhile there is no closet to hang clothes. I work in .devonport so have to bring clothes sometimes for two weeks. There is a small amoir amd I made due by hanging things on the backs of doors. All in all a very plesant, warm and restful stay. The price is a little high, especially in low season.

This was our first apartment in New Zealand and we stayed there two happy weeks. Eleanor and Gareth welcomed us warmly and were very friendly and helpful during our stay and after it. The apartment was spotless and the appliances are all new and of best quality. The apartment is not too big but very comfortable and full of light. it is located 5 min walk from the village center which makes it very convenient, no car is needed. We really recommend it to any couple who wants to spend a vacation in picturesque place and still not too far from auckland (an easy access with a ferry).

Stevenage, EnglandJust what we needed...
Left on 06/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012
...this luxury apartment was amazing, and just what we needed after a long flight over from England. Comfy bed, lovely shower, fluffy towels, lots of space to relax, beautiful quiet area and friendly hosts. We really enjoyed our time here and it was such a great location- easy walk into town for the bars, restaurants and shops, and then only a short distance away was the ferry port where we had easy access into auckland CBD. Devonport itself is a lovely little town, with numerous nice walks, beautiful views across the water to the auckland skyline, nice beaches and some good restaurants. We would definitely stay again.

A lovely apartment which is very comfortable; good quality equipment and furnishings.
Great location in the very pleasant 'village' of Devonport with its shops, bars and cafes yet with easy access to the ferry to auckland downtown
The owners were very informative and helpful -

we stayed here for a few days at the beginning of our trip to New Zealand. It is in such a good location, being close to the city (only a short ferry ride) but far enough away to feel like you aren't stuck in the noise, traffic and hustle and bustle of the CBD. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower amazing! Would definitely stay here again!

Newcastle upon Tynebrilliant spot for the north shore and auckland city
Left on 02/24/2012 for a stay in February 2012
we stayed here for a week in mid-late feb 2012. the accommodation is brilliantly located, being 10 minutes walk to the ferry to downtown auckland (which itself only takes about 10 minutes). the house is an old colonial style weather boarded property with the most fantastic original ceiling in the living area. there was everything supplied that we needed, the kitchen equipment are all brand new and excellent quality (bosch, siemens etc) and the shower was so good it would have even pleased my friends from across the atlantic who complain endlessly about the puny showers in england... the sheets, the towels, the whole shebang is what it says on the tin - luxury. if you're visiting auckland for a few days, come out to the north shore rather than staying in a soulless box in the city. you won't regret it. the only thing to watch out for is that flipkey, for some reason (and at the time of writing) has the property mapped to the CBD of auckland. this is not correct. many thanks to both eleanor and gareth, hopefully see you again next time we're down under. rick and lorraine.

Left on 02/02/2012 for a stay in January 2012
We stayed in this apartment for 7 nights in January 2012. Eleanor and Gareth were very hospitable and friendly. The apartment had a fabulous location with a short walk to the center of Devonport and to the ferries to auckland and other islands. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful and we loved the countryside atmosphere of Devonport yet it was only 15 mins by ferry to auckland. Devonport is a wonderful small town with great restaurants, cafes and bars and the people are so warm and friendly. The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable with all the conveniences you would ever need. There was a washer/dryer, dishwasher and very modern kitchen. Eleanor and Gareth left fresh milk and coffee for us which was a very nice touch. The kitchen was outfitted with everything you would need for your stay. The bedroom had a comfortable bed with great linens. The shower was modern and even had a heated towel bar. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and we would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to visit auckland but stay somewhere out of the city with charm and convenience.

We stayed in the aprtment during the RWC and loved it. There is loads of space and it is uperbly equipped with all the mod cons you will need for a long or short stay. The location is brilliant as we woke up to bird song yet could be in the middle of auckland in minutes. The hosts are lovely and very helpful.
We'd recommend it to anyone -

We stayed at the gorgeous Luxury Devonport apartment for 8 nights in September, and it certainly lives up to the name of 'Luxury'. The apartment looks exactly like the photos, it is lovely, with no expense spared on the decor and furnishings. If we were ever to return to New Zealand we would certainly look at staying in this apartment again. Highly recommend the accommodation to any couple.

United KingdomGreat Place to Stay in Devonport!
Left on 05/25/2011 for a stay in May 2011
All the furnishings have been finished to a very high standard, most notably the power shower which I wanted to take home with me, the bed was also very comfortable! It has a very comprehensive kitchen so if you are a good cook you will feel right at home. The location is great, close to the village centre (1min drive, 5min walk) but far enough so your not hassled by all the tourist traffic.
I couldn't recommend the place enough!
Devonport itself is a brilliant place to stay, there are lots of cafes, restaurants, art galleries etc. and only 12mins on the ferry from the CBD. The waterfront and beaches are a good place to chill out and watch the boats go by as are the 2 volcanic hills that you can either walk or drive up. -

We really enjoyed our six night stay in Eleanor and Gareth's unique one bedroom apartment attached to their traditional villa in quiet Shoal Bay.
The photographs show the true modern, luxurious self contained interior.
The apartment is central to Devonport Village (walking) and the wider auckland City (car or public transport).
We highly recommend staying here - we will return. -

There is always a certain amount of risk choosing holiday
accommodation via the internet but we certainly fell on our feet! Eleanor's apartment in her newly- refurbished classic
Devonport cottage is well- equipped and extremely comfortable. It is in a quiet location but convenient for the village and ferry terminal serving the auckland CBD and other destinations further afield. There is on street parking in front of the apartment which is an asset. And Eleanor was so helpful and patient in answering all of our many questions. The fortnight we spent in the apartment was a happy one and a great start to our holiday in New Zealand.
