Description from the owner
'Samawati' means 'a heavenly place' in the native Digo tongue. This is an Arabesque Swahili house on a pristine 3km stretch on Kenya's Indian Ocean seaboard. There are 4 spacious bedrooms, indoor and outdoor sitting rooms, ping pong table, dining room, kitchen around a courtyard with outside patios and a large infinity edge 12 metre swimming pool. Set up on a cliff above the beach, the villa and pool enjoy sweeping views of the Indian Ocean through a grove of coconut palms. Access to the beach is via a private path - about 60 metres in length. This property known as ‘Chelsoon’ is on 9 acres with 200m of beach front.

Additional Location Information
This charming Lamu Arab style house which we call Samawati overlooks the Indian Ocean at Msambweni, 56 kms south of Mombasa, just off the tarmac road to Tanzania. If visiting by air, you would take a regular departure flight from Nairobi to Mombasa International Airport or the civil aerodrome at Ukunda (Diani Beach) only 25kms from Msambweni. It is ideally situated not only for a beach holiday with safe swimming and goggling, but also for visits to the Shimba Hills National Park, the Kisite Island Marine Park, Wasini Island, the Pemba Channel Fishing Club at Shimoni, Funzi Lagoon and other fascinating areas nearby.
