Thamesford, Ontario, CanadaAwesome Vacation Home
Left on 02/03/2011 for a stay in September 2010
It is a magnificent house with a million dollar view! The house was everything that was promised. The ten of us were all very comfortable for the week. With binoculars you could see the balancing rock across the bay.
A seal colony nearby, several whale watching expeditions close at hand and of course lobster, scallops and crab all the time. Absolutely delicious!
Definitely would recommend this property. Great place to stay while in Nova Scotia. -

We spend 2 wonderful weeks for a family reunion here in august. The house is very remote at the end of a peninsula. But we found it easily!
Our group was very diverse with ages ranging from toddler to senior but it seemed the perfect place for everybody. The children played all day long and never asked for TV (even though there was one with plenty of movies to chose from). Every day we did trips to the local beaches or went blueberry picking (30 Min away).
Our favorite place was Sandy Beach (20 Min) at low tide!
The kitchen of the house was perfect and while cooking we could still enjoy the beautiful views!
Not a day went by were we didn't see wildlife from the beautiful porch or on a day trip!
Every bedroom room was tastefully decorated and very roomy. All the cousins had a blast because there was one room that accommodated all 5 of them! Endless playtime!
Not far from the house (10 min walking) there is a seal colony and it became a daily little hike to go there and watch them!
A perfect place for nature lovers who still want the luxury of a beautiful home away from home!

Left on 02/03/2011 for a stay in July 2010
In celebration of my Dad's 80th bday, we headed for the Seal Point House, July 18th. It was the first time to Nova Scotia and we basically knew nothing about it!!! The house was a little more remote than we thought, but wow, everything about it was fabulous! We had 4 teenagers that had no access to tv or internet for a week and they actually had fun! The house was extremely comfortable, extremely clean, and more than enough room for everyone (11 of us). The deck is where we would gather to watch the birds, the seals, the boats, and the beautiful scenery. The first day we were there, a bald eagle flew right over us! We went whale watching at Petit Passage and then had a late lunch...everyone there is awesome and literally 3 mins from the house. We took the ferry to Long Island, did the Balance Rock thing, then to Lavena's Catch which was really, really good. Then to Briar's Island which was my personal favorite...really loved it. We went to Digby, Annapolis Royal, and Bear River (Flight of Fancy is a must if your into art). Did a Winery tour in Bear River, quite interesting and the view from the back is breathtaking. Also, went to Whale's Cove. If you want to meet an interesting, fun person, go and meet Vaughn at the trailer park. He's a rockhound and makes jewelry with his finds as well as being owner of the campground! If you go the opposite way of the campground (if you take the turnoff where it says Whale's Cove, you go straight and at the end of that road you go left or right. Left is stunning view of the water and maybe whales!
To the right is the campground.
Back at the house, the favorite thing to do was to go down the path to Seal Point. And yes there are a lot of seals! . Kids went fishing down at the dock on the other side of the ferry, it's by what appears to be a fishery. They all caught fish! (there are fishing poles at the house..thanks Chris)
Every evening we sat around and talked, played games (lots of them there) did puzzles, etc.
