There is a huge area of public land, lakes, ponds, wetlands, and forest surrounding the property. Nearby you'll find the Mountain Laurel Center with concerts and events, Pecks Pond, where you can see Bald Eagles, rent boats and fish, or eat at the historic Pecks Pond Inn. Lake Wallenpaupack, the third largest body of water in PA, is 20 minutes away. High Knob, one of the highest mountains in the Poconos, is just a few minutes away. Numerous ski areas, golf courses, paintball, boating, hiking, ATV and Snowmobile trails, waterfalls, and more are all in the nearby area. Milford, Stroudsburg, Matamoras, and Hawley are all about 20-30 minutes away. This property is located centrally in the Poconos so you are within a reasonable drive of almost all of the attractions. What is most unique about this property is that it is not in a gated community, unlike most Pocono vacation rentals, so you can enjoy real seclusion while still being close to civilization.
As for skiing, the great thing about this location is that you are right in the middle of most of the Pocono ski areas. We get a lot of skiers who want to visit a different area every day. Tanglewood is only 12 miles away, about a 20 minute drive. You are also within 30 miles of Shawnee, Camelback, Mountain Creek, Big Bear, Alpine Mountain, Fernwood, and even Sno Mountain in Scranton is not out of reach.

  A rare high quality rental house in the Poconos

  I stayed in this house with a group of 20 dudes for a weekend-long bachelor party. We loved this place. Having stayed in a few Poconos vacation rentals in my time, I had low expectations, but this place was nothing like the others. The house was huge, and the layout was great. We loved having the two kitchens, which were both well stocked with the kitchen essentials. The hot tub was clean. The game room was great. There is a tv in the game room with an atari 2600 hooked up, along with all the best games. Such a nice touch! Also appreciated were the 3 flat screens, esp the 60" in the family room next to the game room. All in all, the house felt really clean. The area was pleasant. The pond was ok. Plenty of parking for our 10 cars.
