Description from the manager
Seven-bedroom Fortlands Point sits at the site of the original fort leading into Discovery Bay. Its dramatic seaside position affords dramatic views of both the sea and the bay from outside the villa and in. The villa hosts no fewer than 3 private, white-sand beaches and its own cove on its 2-acre grounds, complete with a secluded seaside dining pavilion for a romantic or quiet meal. Set back a few feet from the main beach, the infinity-edge pool looks out over the bay and includes a covered bar seating area for al fresco dining and entertaining in style.

London, United KingdomHeaven for families with small children
Left on 04/18/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We visited Fortland's Point with our extended family, including 4 children ranging from 9 months to 6 years. We found it to be an ideal villa for families. The house layout/bedrooms, grounds, activities, and staff combined to create a most relaxing experience for groups with small children. It was like having a small resort just to yourself. I can't imagine a better property for having a truly relaxing experience with small children.
I personally left the property only once to explore the nearby coastline. Despite 11 days on property there was always plenty to do... great snorkeling with active reefs just off the beach, paddleboards, kayaks, the pool. We hired an amazing yoga instructor (Sheila Pinto) to give us private yoga classes in the beach pavilion. Having everything right on site meant I could enjoy the activities while my small children napped.
For the kids there is a small swingset/slide, large yard with soccer/football goals, cannons to climb, board games, and of course the pool & beach. For others that want to leave the property, hiring a driver for the week allowed people to go to nearby markets & activities in Ocho Rios.
The staff was extremely accommodating & great with our kids. I would also consider the villa to be handicapped accessible, with one bedroom accessible by wheelchair (not sure how the bath is). There is a house dog, which we hardly noticed at all. One kid accidentally stepped on it and it just moved further under the couch. While family-friendly was key for me, we also had young, childless couples as part of our group, who also had a wonderful time. The house & property are large enough to "escape" without actually leaving the grounds.
Things that really exceeded our expectations were the quality of the snorkeling, the quality of the private beach (small, but picturesque & lovely), and the amazing private yoga instructor. There are also a variety of places to dine on the property (we ate in 5 different locations...2 indoors and 3 outdoors).
The only downsides to the villa I found was that some of the things shown in the pictures were not available (hammocks, gym equipment). Additionally, while the chef is good & very accommodating, I would not describe the meals as gourmet (note: my standards for gourmet are quite high). The pools/beaches are not closed off, so it is necessary to watch young children very carefully.
It is about 3 hours from Kingston airport and 1hr from Montego Bay. -

Amazing family trip!

Our family had an amazing time at Fortlands Point. From the location to the villa to the staff, we did not want to leave! The pool and beach combo had something for everyone. The beach was calm and very kid friendly. Having the staff was wonderful. Anything you could want they made possible. We even had a reggae band perform at the house our last night! The food was wonderful. The weather was beautiful. The views from the property amazing. We will definitely be back! - Melissa G., Wisconsin, USA

I recommend Levi & Luxuryretreats to my best friends and family
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in February 2012
I don\'t have the time to write a lengthy review, but the 6 adults and 8 children that enjoyed this fabulous villa vacation with me, had the time of their lives. The private beach, the splendid layout of the house, the proximity to all the amenities from the living quarters was the greatest mix of paradise and luxury. The staff was so attentive the entire time. The chef cooked fantastic, homestyle meals and made everyone happy at mealtime. The grounds are immaculately maintained and pristine always. There are so many little private areas on the property where you can enjoy peace and tranquility while reading or relaxing while listening to the ocean lap against the coral shore. Snorkel, kayak, spearfish, drink, drink, eat, swim relax and did I say relax?? Great time for any family. Highly recommend. Ask for Levi, the man KNOWS his villa. I\'ve been renting from luxuryretreats.com and using Levi for many years (6 or so) and every experience has been better than the one before. - Roger P., New York, USA

A staffed villa is the perfect choice for a family vacation!
Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in January 2012
Fortlands Point is a magnificent villa on a spectacular piece of land. We thought it was the nicest property on Discovery Bay. The open air sitting area with bar was our favorite place to gather. The staff couldn\'t have been more wonderful. It was terrific to be able to relax and enjoy each other without having to think about meals or cleaning or laundry. This was our first experience with a staffed villa, and we loved it! The water is lovely and beautifully clear. The only negative I can think of has to do with location. Because the villa is between major tourist cities, it is quite a long drive to get to various activities that our group was interested in pursuing: Mystic Mountain, Dunns River Falls, tubing rivers, Dolphin Encounter, really good golf, etc. In all, however, we were extremely satisfied with our choice of Fortlands Point, and we had a terrific vacation! - Al G., Texas, USA
