JM and Family
Grass Valley, Ca.Comfortable North Shore home
Left on 02/05/2011 for a stay in November 2010
We arrived the afternoon after 6 feet of snow, the day before Thanksgiving to find the decks and walkways all shoveled. The home was warm and very comfortable all weekend long. We brought our own firewood which helped the whole atmosphere within the home. Everything worked well. We had a plumbing problem which was taken care of, even though it was Thanksgiving weekend.
We had nine family members and had lots of room, all of the time. We have already recommended it to friends and plan to return in the future. -
sensitive to noise
Forest Knolls, CAdisappointed by noise from road
Left on 08/03/2010 for a stay in July 2010
we liked the area (Dollar Point) and all the amenities, particularly the pool and surroundings. the home was clean and comfortable. the deal-breaker for me was the proximity to the main road and the constant traffic noise which ruined what would otherwise would have been a beautiful and peaceful setting (the reason we were there in the first place.

Manager
As the manager of this house, I agree with this review. North Lake Blvd is approx 400 ft through the woods behind the property. If you are on the deck, enjoying the view, the road noise is noticeable. This is not a unique dynamic to this property, but an issue that exists at many lake view homes located near North Lake Blvd. While it has never been an issue before, we take all feedback constructively and will pass it along to future guests that are concerned.

Oakland, CAWinter Getaway
Left on 07/15/2010 for a stay in March 2010
The house was a wonderful place for a weekend getaway with friends. Great amenities and location for sure.
The only complaint I have is that some household supplies were not provided adequately for the weekend (paper towels, toilet paper, batteries were out in provided emergency flashlights, etc.)
Response from Tahoe Getaways - 08/03/2010
Manager
TahoeGetaways supplies two rolls of paper towels, two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, a starting supply of trash bags, recycle bags, dish soap, laundry detergent, & a sponge in advance of every arrival. Other supplies such as cooking staples, baggies, wraps, foils, etc are inventoried on a "take some leave some basis", which means guests are welcome to use what is there, and replacing what is used is appreciated. Our emergency kits do include extra batteries for flashlights, but if those are consumed as well, there are a few candles.
