Dubai, United Arab EmiratesAwful place, very unwelcoming
Left on 11/24/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed here as part of our honeymoon, travelling from Positano, to Siena and then up to Dolo. We arrived at the B&B; and was greeted by Sara, the owner. She was very friendly (not for long!!) and gave us the choice of 2 apartments. We were quite shocked however that she would not allow us to even bring our bags into the villa from the car before seeing our passports and booking voucher (every other B&B; allowed us to at least unload our bags into the room before proceeding with the formalities). Sara looked at our voucher and promptly told us that even though we had paid for breakfast, she didn't offer it! She advised us to call our wedding coordinator in the UK to ask about our breakfast. I was quick surprised as the signs outside the villa, clearly say "B&B;". Sara took us through some maps of the area, told us how to get to Venice, and then told us that she was going home for 3 days and we should put our key in the letterbox when we check-out. The service was therefore nil. The room was clean however when we go there the water heater wasn't on so no hot water for a good hour. There was no soap in the bathroom and we were allocated just 1 toilet roll for our 2 day stay. There was absolutely nothing provided. The villa also has a communal room with reading chairs, lamps and a pool table. The pool table has rules that you must abide by, the lamps are on power save so they automatically switch off every 10 mins so you are left in the dark in the middle of your pool game. The tourist leaflets on the table are not allowed to be taken. There are signs and rules everywhere. Also states that wi-fi is provided but you have to stand in the middle of the garden to get it as Sara has the wi-fi in her house. My general impression is that it is run on a tight budget and is just a money making scheme rather than caring about the guests.
It was the most awful part of our honeymoon and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. The service, the staff (what staff, we were left alone!!) and the place... terrible.Response from Sara Frison - 05/19/2013

There has been a misunderstanding between these guests and the agency who booked them at our place. We are very clear about not offering breakfast.
Our apartments are self-caterling, and we don't pretend being a hotel. We have guests who keep returning every year.
Unfortunately some guests like those who wrote this bad review think they can get 5 STAR-service at no-start cost. We are very affordable, and YES, we run the place with little budget. We don't do it for the money, but just to contribute to preserve this gorgeous historical building and to have some nice people around the house.
Our prices are very reasonable for the beauty of the place and for the style of our accommodations. We have hardly had a complaint, and no disappointed customers with the very rare exception of those that expect to arrive at a hotel.
WE ARE NOT A HOTEL, so don't book with us if you look for lots of services. -

This place was absolutely lovely! Sara was wonderful and very informative. Payment was pretty easy through the bank. We were a little worried at first when pulling up to what looked like an abandoned building. But, as it turned out we were staying next door. The area was gated so we felt safe leaving our car there. The apartment was small but, neat and clean, and had everything my husband and I needed. There is a shared community room, which we may have taken advantage of if we had stayed longer. Wi-fi is offered, just not in the rooms. The router is located near the owner's apartment but there is nice outdoor furniture there to use. Everything was wonderful! Thank you Sara and andrea!

I was there with my family of 4. We have 2 children. The studio apartment was just big enough for us and had all necessary things for a 2 week-stay.
