The "Hide-Out Cottage" is a cosy wooden holiday house, located in the less touristic area in the South of Dominica, ideal for nature-lovers, hikers, adventurers and families!
The " Hide-Out Cottage" which is fully run by solar power, is surrounded by tropical nature, various fruit trees, tropical plants and flowers, many different species of birds and is near the Geneva River, providing a peaceful and relaxing environment. The cottage is a few minutes walk away from the village of GrandBay and the Atlantic coast.

The "Hide-Out Cottage" is located in the tropical garden of a Swiss-Dominican Rastafarian family at Geneva, in the less touristic Southern district of the Nature Island Dominica in the Caribbean. The "Hide-Out Cottage" which is fully run by solar power, is surrounded by tropical nature, various fruit trees, exotic plants and flowers and is near the Geneva River, providing a peacuful and relaxing environment. The cottage is just a few minutes walk away from the village of GrandBay and the Atlantic coast. You may want to visit the Arts and Crafts Center of Geneva, or the ruins of the house where Novelist Jean Rhys use to live just on the other side of the river.There are many interesting tours and hikes arround the "Hide-Out Cottage", like Perdu Temps hike to Naturalist Pomme, hike from Tete Morne to Soufriere Sulphur Springs, Victoria or Sari Sari Waterfalls, go snorkeling at Champagne Beach or enjoy a romantic boat ride on the Caribbean Sea (with a surprise included!), get a Roseau Valley tour, even hike to the second largest Boiling Lake in the world and so many other adventures!
To visit the capital Roseau, it only takes 25 minutes drive and taxi services are provided even if you arrive by plane at Melvillehall.

Wir waren das erste Mal auf Dominica und waren vom ersten Tag an von dieser Insel begeistert. In diesen ausgezeichneten Gesamteindruck fügte sich auch unsere zweite Unterkunft (zuerst waren wir im Norden) im Hide-Out Cottage an der Südspitze der Insel ein. Nicht weit vom Meer, aber schon im Regenwaldgebiet gelegen erwartete uns ein mit viel Liebe gebautes und ausgestattetes Holzhaus mitten in einem tropischen Garten. Umgeben von den verschiedensten tropischen Bäumen und Sträuchern, von Früchten aller art (Papaya, Kakao, Kaffee, Physalis,Cashewnuss, Ananas, Physalis und vielen anderen mehr) und Blüten, welche von Kolibris umschwirrt wurden konnten wir ein Leben mitten in der Natur genießen. Das Haus ist konsequenterweise energieautark, die Solarenergie, welche am Tage eingesammelt wird, dient am abend zur elektrischen Beleuchtung. Die beiden Gastgeber, Rahel und Octave, wohnen im benachbarten Haus und kümmerten sich liebevoll um uns. Es war einfach ein Ort, in dem man völlig den Lärm und die Hektik der arbeitswelt vergessen konnte.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in The Hide-Out on Dominica. What a wonderful place to spend time at. Thank you to Rahel and Octave again. After 9 days enjoying their garden, wild life and hospitality, we feel renewed again. Dominica is a jewel and we hopefully can come visit soon again.

Ce cottage nous a été recommandé par une résidente qui savait que nous recherchions un endroit calme et ouvert sur la nature. Nous avons passé des heures délicieuses à lire dans le hamac, nous baigner dans la rivière et observer la faune d'un jardin magnifique. Nos hôtes étaient charmants et pleins de petites attentions. Il serait inimaginable de retourner en Dominique sans séjourner au Hide-Out cottage !

On my most recent visit to this marvelous island, I was pleased to receive a hint about the secretivly located Hide-Out Cottage.I truly enjoyed my stay due to the excellent hospitality performed in a spotless clean house.The friendly and heplful owners proofed fun to be with sharing their experties and knowledge about the environment, the island and it's people.To have stayed in this garden of eden made my visit even more memorable!

We stayed for 6 days in the lovely hideout cottage in Dominica. There was plenty of room for the five (three children) us in this beautiful cottage situated close to the atlantic coast and in a very quiet location. Solar power gives you light and it is really great to get away from it all. Rahel, Octave, Zawoli and Zikomo really make you feel at home! A car is very useful especially to see the Victoria or Sarai Sarai falls. There is great snorkeling off Scotts Head only 30 minutes by car or 2.5 hours walk away. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we did!!!
