Just returned from a week's vacation with my wife, 10 year old daughter, and my sister. First time in Costa Rica, and although we read plenty of books and websites in advance, we were best served by the advice and incredible hospitality of Edwin and the rest of the on-site staff. They were awesome!!! Only had to whisper in Edwin's ear when we arrived that my wife's birthday was the following day and he arranged for a birthday cake and cooked a fantastic birthday meal that was shared with the other guests and staff - I was blown away with their willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure first class service! Our week involved alot of adventure arranged by Edwin (zip lining, snorkeling (or "snoking" as Edwin calls it!), chasing dolphins and turtles, white water rafting, and rappelling down beautiful waterfalls. Incredible time, beautiful accommodations (and we've got high expectations), and wonderful staff! Highest recommendation if you're looking for a great spot to visit in Costa Rica!

This property is spectacular! The staff are all very helpful, knowledgable and fun! We spent a week with our two children and had a blast! The amenities are top notch (probably because the owners actually stays there often). If you are planning to visit Costa Rica, Punta Gabriella is a "must do"!

Punta Gabriela is wonderful. Each of the villas are private and have great views of the coast. The bar area and pool are awesome. Beautiful beaches are just a short walk from the resort. You could spend your entire vacation right there and never leave the beautiful premisies, or you can take excursions off the premises arranged by the staff. We took trips to fish, horseback ride to water falls, go zip lining, and rappell down water falls. Each trip was a half day, leaving the rest of the day to shop or just hang out around the pool or bar at Punta Gabriela.

The villas are luxurious and private. The staff are
available when you want them and unobtrusive when you don't. The communal kitchen and bar are fun and make the stay relaxed. The vistas and the atmosphere are exceptional. We all came home relaxed, refreshed, and re-energized. We have amazing memories (backed up by 2006 pictures & videos) and a little Pura Vida will always stay with us.

Had the greatest spring break of my life at this place. The rooms are beautiful and are kept in perfect condition. There are many things to do around the resort with in a 10 minute drive. I fell in love with the place after the first sunset.

Punta Gabriela is absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views at every turn. The staff is so accomodating and treated me like royalty! I felt like I was in paradise. The premises and rooms are clean. Villa 1 was a dream! The view from the patio at Villa 1 was truly amazing and I felt blessed to wake up to that view every morning. The sunsets there are unbelievable. Pictures can't even capture its beauty in its entirety. The town is close by and Tortilla Flats had the best fish tacos. I enjoyed zip lining and repelling down the water falls. I have already recommended Punta Gabriela to all of my friends. Loved it and can't wait to visit again!

Breathtaking views, beautiful rooms, excellent and friendly staff, and even a zipline on property. One of the best places I've ever stayed on vacation. I highly recommend Punta Gabriela to anyone visiting Costa Rica.

Honestly, my husband and I just got back to south Florida a few hours ago and can't stop raving about our amazing experience in Costa Rica. We attribute our honeymoon-of-a -lifetime to the owners, Jesse and Karen, and staff at Punta Gabriella. From the minute we were picked up at the airport, we were accommodated in every way possible and made to feel like our honeymoon experience was truly important. From the breathtaking views to the beautiful decor of the villas, every detail of this resort was carefully planned to make guests feel like they are living in paradise! Edwin, who is the go-to man if you need anything at all during your trip, knew all of the best places to go for the various activities that we wanted to do and let me just assure you that every adventure he planned for us surpassed our greatest expectations. We spent a lot of time on site too where we were able to have our privacy when we wanted it or enjoy the company of friends down at the main house and bar area. I just can’t say enough what an incredible experience my husband and I had this entire week and we are absolutely grateful for Jesse, Karen, and everyone at Punta Gabriella for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime. Your generosity, hospitality, knowledge of the area and culture, and willingness to go above and beyond to create the best experience possible is so truly appreciated and we look forward to seeing you all again!!!

The Gabriela is a beautiful villa with very beautifully decorated rooms. Both pool areas have a wonderful view. The breakfasts were awesome.
It was helpful to mail a check for our reservations. Many properties in Costa Rica require a wire transfer or exorbitant credit card fees.
We rented all 4 villas and were told we would have the place all to ourselves. It was not private except for the area by Villa 1. Maybe when the owner isn't around - it would be private. There also is not a restaurant on site. We had no maid service. There are dogs on the property and some noise from the highway below. There were a few other snafu's but all in all it was very nice. I would rate it 4 star. -

Me, my boyfriend and a good friends couple, decided to take a getaway vacation together. We were looking for comfort, near by many things specially the beach, privacy and of course incredible views where we can just relax and forget about the world for minutes. We found Punta Gabriela.
We rented Villa #1 and #2, we were close to each other however we remained privacy. Punta Gabriela offered us everything to make our stay enjoyable. We didn't leave the place not once to go to the groceries.
We would go surfing and swimming in the morning in Dominical Beach a world class surf spot and only 2 minutes away from the villas and in the afternoon we were at Punta Gabriela villas watching breathtaking sunsets with our favorite cocktails, seating in the jacuzzi or zip lining in the trees. The Canopy sits in the property overlooking the ocean. A truly romantic getaway place in the jungle, in the mountains in the South Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica. -

I went with my boyfriend for a new adventure in a 3rd world country and we found ourselves in a piece of paradise with all the commodities of home, an incredible 180 degrees view of the pacific ocean with unique sunsets. The accomodations are superb, lush suite, private jacuzzi in our room overlooking the spectacular view. We even woke up in the middle of the night to go to the helipad on top of the house to look at the incredible sky that you can only see when you are away from the city.
Activities are really nice, we zip lined in the property, went horse riding, and water rafting... visited a few different beaches, our hostess took us to some beautiful places and my boyfriend thought he was Tarzan at the waterfalls.
Animal sight including: tucans, sloths, guaramundies, monkeys, deers...and others that can't remember.
Recommended for couples (honeymooon), group of couples, girls and/or guy groups... it can be a great party house. Don't hesitate, is great!! -

Traveled for the 5th time to Punta Gabriela. Every time I go I experience something different. Went white-water rafting with my 14 year old daughter and my friends. As we were riding the rapids it began to rain. We didn't even know it had been raining. It was so breath-taking and surreal. Returning to the the villas a masseuse was waiting in the guess penthouse. Windows open, only the sounds were the waves hitting the shore, sooo relaxing. Afterwards, dinner with our hosts, family and friends. This place is a must!!! Everyone should experience this just once in their lives.

We had the pleasure to take a short get away for our anniversary & stay in the private villa with private pool...it was absolutely incredible!!! The views, decor, amenities, privacy...were breath taking!!! I totally recommend staying here & enjoying a quiet romantic spot in Costa Rica!!!

Recently returned from a week at Punta Gabriela, perhaps the most beautiful place I've ever stayed. As accurate as the photos and descriptions are, my experience was beyond my expectations. I can't imagine how one could improve upon the elegance and comfort of the villas lovingly and tastefully designed and built by the owners, Karen and Jesse Maurer. My stay in villa #1 was beyond luxurious in every way with my own private pool and jacuzzi and a patio to soak up the sun. The room is huge and gorgeous. Edwin, the Costa Rican property, manager knows all the great activities in the area and he can help arrange for all of them from ziplining to fishing and rafting. The sunsets are spectacular. If you can find a way to go, do it!

This place truly is luxury in the jungle. The location was just about a 2 hour drive or a quick flight from San Jose. We drove one way and flew back the other way and this only added to the adventure. Good site seeing along the way and you really feel like you are getting away from it all. The entire property sits on a cliff with ocean views that are extraordinary. We stayed in one of the villas. It was gorgeous, clean, private, and extremely comfortable. The owners were very friendly and knowledgeable about Costa Rica. They handled all of our excursions and everything we did was top notch. We enjoyed a canopy trip, whale watching, fishing,horseback riding, surfing and more all within close proximity. They even prepared the most delicious impromptu dinner for us from our fishing trip bounty. This was my first trip to Costa Rica and staying here definitely enhanced the entire experience.

From the moment of my arrival I felt completely comfortable. The owners, Karen and Jesse couldn't do enough for me. There was just the right combination of adventure and relaxation. The view from everywhere on the property is just astounding, not to mention breath taking. It's the only place I know of where the Pacific Ocean meets the jungle. My villa was so beautifully decorated. Not one thing was overlooked in the design. The treehouse/zip line is one of kind. All of my excursions were arranged for me (everything from horseback riding, canopy tour, whale watching and waterfalls). I highly recommend a get away to Punta Gabriela to everyone! I can't wait to go back there.

Punta Gabriela, You feel Costa Rica here, You feel the sea and the waves crashing on the rocks, the palm trees , the rain forest and jungle. Our bedroom suite/villa had a beautiful outdoor space with a private infinity pool overlooking the Pacific ocean. We felt like we had a piece of heaven!
Karen is a wonderful host. We felt at home.
Punta Gabriela has an exotic modern zen vibe and the accomodations are first class which finds harmony in a tropical setting.
Did I mention we had lots of fun in nature, the horseback riding to the water falls, the best ever!! We will be back ! Sam and Emmy -

The villas are spectacular in design, amenities, cleanliness and extremely comfortable. No details have been overlooked.. Views of the mountains and Pacific ocean from each villa are unmatched, along with the sunsets. The hosts are the most accommodating people you will ever meet and you will want to list them among your friends when you leave, and they will look after your every needs while you are there. Their major domo, Edwin, is very witty and most friendly and will arrange for any excursions in the vicinity. In all, the most relaxing and best B & B we have ever stayed in.

You drive up towards the property and have no idea what you are about to see. Unbelievable piece of property. Private, intimate, breathtaking views, beautifully decorated and spacious villas. The property managers are so helpful and accomodating. Owners have beautiful hearts and their only interest is that you leave with a wonderful memory.
