Coconut Grove is located on the South Pacific Coast, 2 km South of Dominical. It is situated on one of Costa Rica's most picturesque and private beaches. Coconut Grove offers a lovely beach house with separate bedroom with queen bed, comfortable futon in living room and trundle bed (2 twins). The house has full kitchen w/micorwave, ceiling fans, A/C, TV, phone, Wi-Fi and private balcony w/hammock. We had the pleasure of staying with Diane and Richard a few weeks ago and the only thing wrong with the stay was that we didn't schedule enough days there. Next time it will be longer. We loved the house, the closeness of the beach, and the warm welcoming attitude that our hosts shared.
They are there if you need them but don't intrude on your privacy. Their dogs are an added plus. At a time when I was missing our pet, they helped to fill in the gap.
We left our laptop in the car of the driver who brought us. Diane and Richard were most helpful in contacting him so we could get it back.
We are definitely planning on staying at Coconut Grove again. -

Upon a 3rd trip to Dominical, we chose to stay at Coconut Grove this time in Dominicalito- we will be going back to this location again, and again! The room was private, the morning beach walks/shell hunts were serene, the daily swim in the pool was glorious and the outdoor massage while listening to the breaking surf was spectacular.
Both Richard and Diane, the owners, not only offer a great place to stay but made sure our stay was exactly what we wanted. Not to mention, Richard plays a mean set of drums!
Aside from the accommodations, there are numerous surf spots surrounding the area as well as a small wave for play just down the beach - a very short walk.
We truly enjoyed our stay and have found our niche there. We absolutely recommend Coconut Grove to anyone who loves the ocean and/or wants a quiet little oasis to forget their woes. -

February 2012 will be our third year at Coconut Grove and what we like to call "our Costa Rican beach house". The ride from San Jose is about 3 hours along the coastal highway and actually very pleasant with some neat places to stop. Once you arrive at Coconut Grove Diane and Richard are wonderful hosts. Super friendly and very helpful with information about Dominical and surrounding areas and events. If you're looking for a relaxing "home away from home" vacation spot, this is the place. Plenty of places to eat with local fresh foods as well as little supermarkets to pick up any food items you may need for the beachhouse. Can't say enough about the beautiful beach which is yards away from any of the beach houses and do not miss sunset on Playa Dominical. If lucky enough you'll run into Richard walking his dogs and he's always happy to introduce you to the interesting sunset views. The grounds and pool are all kept immaculate, can't wait for our first cup of coffee on the porch February 2012.

My wife and I only wished we had more than 2 days to relax in this beautiful setting. The abrahams were genial and gracious hosts with friendly dogs, and the pictures don't begin to convey the intimacy of the vibrant and well-manicured grounds. It makes for a very peaceful setting for the morning yoga sessions. The cabinas are quite comfortable and the ac worked great, as did the fridge and gas range. Overall, a very relaxing time that I'd recommend to anyone.

Tienes que vivir la experiencia por ti mismo pues sinceramente es indescriptible. Excelente en todo aspecto, nos sentimos como en nuestra propia casa, con todas las comodidades, un paisaje único, piscina y playa virgen...etc, etc, etc... Tres veces hemos estado alli y seguiremos visitando a Diane y Richard. Gracias por su hospitalidad y por compartir su pequeño paraiso con nosotros. Enjoy!!!

Love staying here!! It has exactly what I'm looking for. Clean affordable housing, pool, on the beach, close to all amenities and town, great country side and excellent hospitality of Richard and Diane. We have stayed at Coconut Grove 3 years in a row already and already booked for this coming December 2011. I count the days until I return.
