Description from the owner
Our three bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home is brand new and located on the beach in the beautiful town of Dominical, Costa Rica. Eco tourism abounds, with plenty of animals and birds on the property, and with fantastic day trips to Corcovado, river rafting, and horseback riding. The home has a full kitchen, dining room, three lovely bedrooms with air conditioning, and a tile pool. Two additional homes are on the same property if you've got multiple families or you want to have a yoga retreat in the jungle.
The charming surfing town of Dominical is just 20 minutes by foot, or two minutes by car. There are about half a dozen very good restaurant...Read more

Gorgeous New Home on Beach in Dominical
Dominical, Puntarenas, Costa Rica
What's Nearby:
Additional Location Information
Located in one of the best surfing areas of Costa Rica, Dominical is about 3 hours from the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica. Paved, well-maintained roads take you past Santa Ana, Jaco, Quepos, to Dominical. Our home is about 1 km south of town, and 100m south of Roca Verde, a great restaurant (and on Saturday nights, a disco). Turn off the highway at the red, white, and blue utility pole, down the driveway, and through the gate. Our caretaker or a nice night watchman will greet you. Each home has a one-car garage and a parking spot.
The home has instant access to Dominical Beach. This is a real difference between our property and many other places in the area (and they too are beautiful, but generally located on the hills behind the highway.) You don't have to drive to the beach or town, ever, during your stay. Dominical has fewer than 1000 residents, and is known for its great surfing, restaurants, and eco-tourism. Tours include a gorgeous horseback ride to Nayuca Falls, canopy tours (zip lines) in nearby Hacienda Baru, surf lessons in Dominical, kayaking on either the ocean or the mangroves, and simply swimming off the shore.

Additional notes from owner
There are three very similar properties located adjacent to one another. If you have a large group (up to 21 persons), you can rent more than one home assuming there is availability. There is also a discount for rentals of more than one home for the same time period.
For rentals of 7 days there is a 10% discount.
For rentals of 14 days, there is a 15% discount.
For rentals of 21 days, there is a 20% discount.
For rentals of 28 days, there is a 25% discount.
The onsite property manager, Jennifer Valverde, can provide tourist services (eco-tourism bookings), prepared meals, and housekeeping. Most day trips are under $100, and many wonderful trips are $50 or less. She is extremely well-connected with local business owners and tour operators. Having Jennifer is like having a concierge, but without the stuffiness. Whatever you need, Jennifer can likely find it for you.

Stamford CTGreat house
Left on 02/24/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The house is perfect, right on the beach. The surrounding trees and plantings really make for a fantasy setting with lots of birds and lizards visiting all the time. The roar of the surf is constant. The pool is deceptively big, perfect place to hang out after a day at the beach. Jennifer, the property manager was really helpful and always around to help. Great family vacation!!! The only nit is the house is a little close to the main road and you hear some traffic. But easily drowned out by the Pacific!

This home has it all as the title says. I did not rent a car so the proximity to beach and town was ideal. The rooms including bedrooms, TV area, living room, dining areas and outdoor lounges are located in a way that would allow 3 couples or individuals to have their own space. The Internet and TV worked perfectly. Kitchen amenities were top notch and even included ground coffee and milk. Jennifer the property manager is very helpful. The owner, Chuck, is very pleasant to deal wiith via email. The only negative is that we did not get to see any toucans :( .

Long BeachBest Location in Dominical
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This house is Great! The layout is very private. We had 7 people and the house was very comfortable with plenty of room. The view of the Jungle and the beach was great. You could hear the waves at high tide and you could walk to town down the beach at low tide. Our kids loved playing on the Beach and swimming in the pool. We were really happy we decided to stay in Dominical after driving through Jaco. Dominical is much more laid back and less commercial it really is a nice relaxing little beach town. I would recommend the Hawley place to anyone!

Scotts Valley, CAAwesome!
Left on 10/20/2010 for a stay in August 2010
What an amazing place! Beautifully furnished new home with full security in an stunning setting. Extremely clean. Location could not be better - close to beach, very quiet, but just a short walk to the nightlife in Dominical. We had a great time boogie boarding on the beach, lazing in the private pool, local hiking, horseback riding, river raftting and ziplining - all booked through the locals in Dominical. Great family location with the right mix of adventure and luxury. We will be back!

Santa CruzAbsolute Paradise!
Left on 10/08/2010 for a stay in March 2010
The house is absolutely gorgeous, nestled in lush jungle yet steps to the sand. The beach may as well be private because we always had it to ourselves. For our week long vacation, we barely left this little paradise. We spent our days lounging by the pool, surfing right out in front of the house, and reading under a canopy of tropical trees. It is located just close enough to the town to walk up the beach, but far enough away for peace and quiet. (It is also only a 5 minute walk to Roca Verde, where the most popular disco anywhere around is held every Saturday night!) I would recommend this house for anyone looking for luxurious yet affordable accommodations. I can't wait to go back!

This is a beautiful get away house that is perfect for the family. The near private beach is wonderful for long afternoon strolls. Close to some incredible national parks and reserves including the Oso Peninsula. Saw all kinds of wildlife and good surf.

Santa Cruz, CABest house on the beach with a pool in Domincal.
Left on 10/06/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We spent 10 wonderful days at the Hawley's house at Caballitos Del Mar in Dominical, Costa Rica with our daughter and her boyfriend. This was the perfect place to relax and explore the beautiful southwestern coast of Costa Rica.
The 3 home complex is on its own secluded end of Dominical beach. The house faces the ocean with views of the sea thru the jungle in every room. Downstairs the open floor plan kitchen, living room, dining area open onto a large patio with your own pool right in front.
We sat for hours in the Costa Rican rocking chairs watching the waves, reading on the lounge chairs and enjoyed our meals on the patio dining table. Our views included the occasional toucan in the trees and iguana on the rocks. We kept cool with a refreshing dip in the pool several times a day, and enjoyed the 20 minute walk into Dominical during low tide most days. There are lots of great restaurants close by and the drive into Dominical took less than 5 minutes.
Each of the three bedrooms has its own balcony or patio facing the ocean, ceiling fans, air conditioner and bathroom. The temperature was so pleasant we just slept with the ceiling fan on every night. The separate air conditioning kept everyone with different temperature requirements happy. And they have a clothes dryer! I love a dryer in the tropics.
Don't be afraid of the green season! Rates are cheaper and there is plenty of sunshine. We got a few hours of rain every day, usually late in the afternoon which allowed us most of the day for exploring.
It would be hard to imagine a more accessible location. We would go out and explore the local beaches, towns, take tours, etc. and then scuttle back to the lovely amenities of our beach house. There was someone on sight at all times and a very wonderful caretaker to make the experience easy and book our tours. She even brought us fresh bread and natilla one morning from San Isidro. We'll be back and recommend this place to our friends!
