      Loved it!

Left on 05/19/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Sea Breeze Casa was a perfect rental home for our vacation. The pool and view were absolutely breathtaking. The house is beautiful with windows all around and everything in it is of top quality. Bob and Bea are two of the kindest, gentlest people I have ever met. They are always available if you need anything, but never intrusive. We stayed for 7 nights with my parents, our two daughters, and my adult niece. There was plenty of room and comfortable beds and bedding for all of us.

I was amazed at how well equipped the house was. Any pan, utensil or small appliance you might need in the kitchen was there, as well as hand soap, bar soap, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, garbage bags, straws for smoothies and pool towels. There was even a hair dryer in the master bathroom.

It was nice to have air conditioning in the lower unit and master bedroom. The main living room did not have a/c, so if you have a bigger group, some will be sleeping without air. There was a large fan, though, so it wasn’t too hot for our older daughter and niece. Our kids loved petting all of the dogs, and visiting the horses on the property. Two of Bob and Bea’s dogs would come down to visit us regularly, which we thought was fun.

The pool was quite large, and we spent a lot of time in it. We had visits from capuchins and toucans during the week. We also got a kick out of the toads that would show up after dark and “talk” to us with their strange croaks. The road to get to Casa Sea Breeze was an adventure, and took about 20 minutes, but was worth it to stay in such a beautiful setting. We never worried about whether our belongings would be safe. We loved watching the sunset on the ocean with our cocktails and cooking dinner in the Casa. Bob and Bea gave us a great recommendation for where to buy fish, so we grilled fresh fish and shrimp three of the nights we were there.

We explored many of the beautiful, secluded beaches in the area. Bob and Bea had a boogie board we could use, and we took it to Playa Dominicalito and had a blast. Hacienda Baru was interesting. The Osa Mountain Canopy tour was fun and exciting with spectacular views. Don Lulu’s Nayuaca Falls horseback riding tour was a huge hit. If we are ever in the Dominical area again (and I hope we will be, someday), we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Casa Sea Breeze!

      Wonderful home- perfect

Left on 03/25/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We stayed 7 days. Myself, hubby & 2 young boys. The reviews are correct. If you are looking for a very relaxing, peaceful vacation this home is perfect. Bob & Bea have seen to every possible detail. There are lots of linens to make up multiple beds. The kitchen is wonderful with a drink blender I have put on my Christmas list :) You will see monkeys & toucans at least 2x every single day. At night frogs come out (big fun for the kids) My boys even saw monkeys in the trees when they were taking a bath in the gigantic tub.
Hacienda Baru is 15 minutes away. Plenty of grocery shopping in Uvita. Plenty of beautiful secluded beaches close by.
The pool is wonderful. The shallow end was big enough for my 2 non swimming boys to float on tubes & rafts. They lived in it. There are table umbrellas to provide shade & a large tree will shade the pool late afternoon.
The road up is worth the effort. The breezes through the house are fantastic. We only used the bedroom ac's on the lowest settings at night, but if you don't like aC you probably don't even need them. We felt very secure while we were there.
The best part of this home is that it comes with Bob & Bea. Two of the nicest people you will ever meet that are available for whatever you need.
I don't usually like to travel back to the same place twice because it's a big world out there, but we are already talking about when we can go back. It's paradise!

      best vacation rental ever!!

Left on 02/18/2013 for a stay in January 2013

My wife and I stayed here for eight days and it was better than advertised!! The extra 15 minute 4x4 drive is well worth it. The property is actually nicer in person than the photos indicate which is rarely the case. Bob and Bea are fantastic hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Many days we didn't even venture out because the setting and amenities were better than any beach you can visit. I will definitely here stay again if possible on future trips to Costa Rica.

      Fantastic House and Hosts

Left on 01/09/2013 for a stay in December 2012

This house was everything we hoped for and more. My wife, kids and I were amazed every morning to wake to the toucans and monkeys. To say this house and it's location is a little slice of paradise is not an understatement.

The house was awesome and was beautiful inside and out. The kitchen was fully equipped with all necessaries and we were able to cook many meals in with the fresh pescado we purchased in town or down the highway.

The house is very close to many locations for adventures. The Nauyaca waterfall horseback ride was very close (a can't miss by the way) and so was Hacienda Baru. Also, you are very close to some very quiet beaches further south and Manuel antonio is about 45 km and you get to avoid the congestion of Quepos by staying in this awesome place.

Our kids are 11 and 12 and loved it and Bob and Bea's dogs.

Bea and Bob are awesome hosts and and really know how to treat their guests.

The property is quite secluded and really makes you feel like you are in a special place.

I'd go back every year if I could. Don't hesitate to book with Bob and Bea.

      Monkeys, monkeys, monkeys

Left on 01/01/2013 for a stay in December 2012

We went to Costa Rica hoping to see beautiful rainforests, toucan birds and cappuchin monkeys. Waking up in the morning, lounging in the infinity pool (overlooking the Pacific ocean) and drinking amazing Tica coffee on the porch, we saw all of these things daily.

And the house was the nicest we have stayed in on any of our many vacations. Floor to ceiling glass windows in the bedrooms so you wake up to trees, vines, birds all around you.

The upstairs (pool level) has the large, granite-countered main kitchen, kitchen island with bar stools. It is open to the living room with dining room table, sofas and big TV. A full bathroom, then down three stairs to the master suite with another beautiful full bath.

We put our 4 kids (all 22-24) downstairs in the bedroom with multiple beds and futons, its own kitchen, living area and bathroom. Just the perfect set-up for us.

Bea and Bob's house is nearby, but they give you as much privacy as you want. It's just you and them on 100+ acres of nature reserve with trails through the rainforest, waterfalls and streams. We quickly became fast friends with these two incredible people whose love for the land and the animals is apparent in everything they do.

It was so nice to be able to leave the doors unlocked day and night- our laptops and phones out with no worries. There is only 1 road up to their house, which is 15 minutes off the highway. And they have 12 adorable rescue dogs who will keep any strangers away.

We didn't even go to Manuel antonio park because this property had everything we wanted to see (except the elusive howler monkeys). Instead, we took surfing lessons at Playa Dominical, hung out at the beautiful Playa Ventanas ($6 for all of us instead of $60 at M.A.) and did an aTV tour near San Isidro.

For all of us, it was our favorite vacation ever and our favorite house to stay in. I can still see the view from that pool...wow!

All happy, no worries at Sea Breeze

Left on 08/24/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We had a lovely holiday with our 8-year old daughter, and another couple with their two young daughters.
The Sea Breeze Casa is perfectly located, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, with a beautiful ocean view. The house is comfortable with all the amenities one could need, right down to a washer/dryer, internet and satellite TV. The outside area of the house is perfect, with all the animals we could see just from the pool, including toucans and white-headed capuchins.
The nights at Sea Breeze are fresh, quiet and peaceful, perfect for star watching lying on the chaise lounge chairs by the pool with a drink!
Thank you Bea & Bob, you are truly gracious hosts! We will be back!

      New friends in paradise!

Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and it won't be our last. We travelled as two couples and found Seabreeze Casa to be ideal. The house is perfect for entertaining with a well equipped kitchen, large outdoor patio, gas grill and indoor and outdoor dining areas, but also private with two separate living quarters. We would meet up in the kitchen for breakfast in the morning (try "homefries” made with yucca) and plan our day's excursion and return to the house in the afternoon for a dip in the pool. After grilling local foods we would experiment with new beverages. We left the recipe for La Bebida de la Casa Seabreeze in the Guest Book. You'll have to rent the house to get it!

The only problem with this part of Costa Rica is that there are too many things to do! You have to go zip lining, horseback riding to Nauyaca Falls, explore Hacienda Baru, whale watching from Ballena, and just explore Dominical and watch the surfers. I almost felt guilty leaving this great house and pool every day to go do something. Next time, more pool lounging and less "stuff”!

When you go, drive over the Cerro de la Muerta (Mountain of Death) and through San Isidro. Great views and many sights to see! Plan on some extra time and explore on your way.

As wonderful as this house and Costa Rica were, the best part was meeting Bob and Bea. You won't find two more genuine and honest people. After we checked out and were heading back to San Jose, we ran into Bea in San Isidro on her 4-wheeler, and she made sure that we found all of the last minute items that we were missing. We look forward to returning and spending more time with them and their "family”.

We loved this very clean modern home with nicely-equiped kitchen, spacious bathrooms, AC in the huge master BR and the wonderful infinity pool. Privacy is sacredly respected and the owners are close by if needed. Every evening is capped with a stunning sunset over the Pacific. Being birders, we especially enjoyed the parade of birds viewed from the veranda. Our aTV trip down to the river with Bea and the dogs was a highlight. We are a retired active couple at 65 and would return to this tropical retreat in a flash. Thinking back, I think I'll rebook it right now!

      I cried when we left!

Left on 06/11/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We are just back from an amazing week at Sea Breeze Casa. My husband and I enjoyed the home immensely, as did our two friends who joined us mid-week in the downstairs apartment.

Sea Breeze Casa is a luxury home set on a hill top overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We woke up to the sounds of monkeys and birds in the trees just outside our bedroom window each morning and fell asleep to the gentle lull of bullfrogs. The property was alive! We were visited once in awhile by one of the many dogs that Bob and Bea have rescued, we fed their horses who live in a stable just down from the casa, we visited the turtles that live just outside... it was all incredible.

The house is extremely well appointed, especially the kitchen, which has all you need to create a meal. We were prepared to eat out frequently, but ended up not wanting to leave Sea Breeze! We ate fresh papaya and mango for our breakfasts and grilled fish dinners many evenings. (That said, we loved Tortilla Flats, Cafe Delicias, and many more restaurants in the area).

There is no doubt that the swimming pool is the best feature of the home. We spent many mornings floating in the inner tube in the pool, watching the Pacific crest just below us. The home stays cool (we didn't even use the a/C) due to the ocean breezes. Another advantage of being high above the ocean is that we experienced far less bug bites at the casa than we did near the beach.

We had a couple of minor hiccups while we were at the home and Bob and Bea were perfectly accommodating. They were prepared to help us with anything at any time and went out of there way to make sure we were comfortable.

The photos do not do this house justice, believe it or not! This is a perfect vacation destination for couples, families... anyone prepared to drive a rough little trip up the hill :)

Thanks for an amazing stay, Bob and Bea!

      Tropical Paradise

Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in April 2012

My family has visited Sea Breeze Casa for 2 consecutive years and we are already planning the next visit. The pictures of this property do not do it justice. Waking up mornings with the sounds of the jungle and smell of the blossoming foliage is immeasurable. We were lucky enough to have a traveling clan of white faced monkeys stop twice daily and took many photos and videos of them even one with a missing tail! Evenings are magical as you watch the most amazing sunset and listen to birds winding down and smell Bea's plants that become most fragrant at this time of day.
Some reviews have stated that the road to the home is a bit rough but we just considered it part of the adventure and it did not stop us from traveling out and about regularly. Bob and Bea are the most gracious hosts. They were as helpful as we wanted them to be and while they were always close enough to get an opinion on the best place to eat or to help identify a jungle sound they also allowed us plenty of privacy.
Dominical is the most interesting little seaside town. It was so refreshing to see the rainforest reach right down into town and to the ocean without large resorts. The restaurants in the area are great, the local fisherman were helpful with a successful trip by boat, ziplining at Hacienda Baru rocked and their staff were so knowledgeable about the wildlife that we left feeling like experts.
We have been telling everyone we know about it for the last 24 months and we will be back for sure.

Best house I've ever rented, hands-down. It's beautiful, relaxi

Left on 05/15/2012 for a stay in July 2011

We rented this house for a week and brought our two young children and my brother's family had three older children. Absolutely everyone loved it, wanted to stay longer, and we promised we'd be back. The owners are extraordinary in meeting your needs, the house and surrounding land mixes modern conveniences with the jungle at your doorstep, the animal life itself was worth the journey and the solitude and peacefulness is practically unheard of in most vacation destinations in the world today. This area of Costa Rica is by far our favorite after visiting all the tourist areas over a couple trips in the last ten years. We are trying to plan our next trip back to Sea Breeze as I write this review.

Seabreeze Casa is an amazing Paradise!!!

Left on 04/13/2012 for a stay in June 2011

I spent 10 amazing days in paradise at Seabreeze Casa. This vacation home is set in the hills with breathtaking views overlooking the Pacific Ocean with the beaches of Dominical & Manuel antonio Park in site.

Relaxing at sunrise on the patio is pure heaven! Sunsets with an ever-changing kaleidoscope of colors adorn the horizon over the Pacific. A gorgeous nature reserve with Macaws, toucans, parakeets, hummingbirds, and other birds gliding overhead, lighting in the trees around the property and in the canopies below. Troops of monkeys often swing through to entertain. The infinity pool appears to melt into the beauty of the Pacific vistas below & sparkles at sunrise. I spent every morning watching the sunrise, while enjoying my Costa Rican coffee!

This vacation home is so lovely, clean, comfortable & provides everything needed for a wonderful vacation. Ample space for a large family, group of people, as well as intimate space for couples & individuals. A good-sized kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals & a comfortable family room. Quiet, beauty, & peace embrace this home!

Bob and Bea, are awesome hosts, who are available to provide recommendations & guidance for area sites, recreational activities, & restaurants to visit. They live in a separate home onsite, & provide a local cell phone for guests to contact them anytime questions occur. They are the most generous, but unobtrusive hosts.
Also making their home at Seabreeze are some very loveable dogs rescued by Bob and Bea & who stay with them, horses, a couple of kinkajous, rehabbed by Bea, a pond full of turtles, & multiple other small animals & birds.

Seabreeze Casa is a gem with much to offer vacationers of all ages: Couples, families, retired couples and individuals will love the wildlife, beauty and serenity of this pristine area. I will definitely be returning to this paradise. This home & property is Costa Rican "Pura Vida” in the truest sense!

There is only one word that describes Sea Breeze Casa ... Amazing !!! If you are looking for that special place that is away from the stress of those big city resorts then you must stay here. From the moment we arrived Bob and Bea made us feel at home. They are two of the nicest host that we have ever met on a vacation. Their "Casa" sits on top of a hill over looking the Nature Reserve and the Pacific Ocean and has everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable. Down the road is the town of Playa Dominical, it is a cute Fishing/Surfing town that offers everything from shopping to fish tacos to 4 star dining. The outdoor adventure in the area is incredible. I could keep writing on and on about this rental but the best way to describe Sea Breeze Casa would be that my family did not want to leave.
