Description from the owner

Come and stay at Rancho Tranquilo, watch the horses play in your back yard! Our cabina feels like your up in the treetops, overlooking the valley below. There are rocking chairs and a comfy hammock for afternoon naps. You'll love sitting on the front porch, watching the toucans and parrots, waiting for the daily incredible sunset.

Here at Rancho Tranquilo, we're all about the horses! Our horses are top-notch: healthy, happy and (mostly) well-behaved. It's the ride you've been looking for! Our private horseback tours are the best way to see the incredible Diamante Valley, Costa Rica's best kept secret. Horseback ride to spectacu...Read more

I want this to be my home

Left on 02/16/2013 for a stay in December 2012

The cabina has the best views out over the valley. The sounds of the tucans and the howler monkeys can be heard in the distance. The decor is simple and comfortable and has a nice country refinement to it. You can do all inclusive tours or just rent the cabina or just go for a tour of the local waterfalls on horseback. Whatever you chose to do you cannot go wrong. Fresh mountain air and georgous sunsets.

      Enjoyable Costa Rica

Left on 12/04/2012 for a stay in November 2012

Like so many trips in Costa Rica the trip is always part of the adventure. Rancho Tranquillo is a bit of a trip to get to, you might even think you turned the wrong way but the drive is exciting and beautiful. The horses are the best I have been on for a long time. The ride was a bit long if you aren't a rider but being at the bottom of a several hundred foot waterfall was worth it. After the ride the homemade pizza was fabulous. We stayed at the cabin, cabin is what it is so don't expect more. View is amazing, beds are comfortable, building is somewhat open so maybe not for those that are picky.Take our food, drink and a nice bottle of wine and you will have a wonderful time. Value was spectacular and we look forward to returning again.

I had the pleasure of staying with Linda and my daughter and I had one of our best vacations. The property is absolutely beautiful. We loved the horses and the toucan's that would come to visit each morning and evening.
We had a blast and look forward to returning,

Love love love staying here... :-)

Left on 09/10/2012 for a stay in January 2012

My wife and I have stayed here twice now, and just love being here. While it's not five-star in terms of deluxe accomodations... high-end hotel style, we give it Five Stars because of the way we feel when we're here. The stresses of our lives in the States just melt away. The cabina is comfortable, the location is quiet, and we love the off-the-beaten-path in nature location. The views are awesome, the beds are comfy, the bathroom is ample and fun, and our host Linda is the best. It's also nicely close to the tallest waterfall in Costa Rica (Diamante), the "most beautiful" waterfall in Costa Rica (Nauyaca), and within 45 minutes of awesome beaches. While the road in can be a bit "rustic", we actually love that about the location... a truly Costa Rican experience. We're already making plans to head back for visit numero three this coming February!! :-)
