Additional Location Information
A short stroll from the villa down a gentle slope leads to a local football field, then onto Dominicalito (little Dominical) beach across the road. The beach has a beautiful backdrop of emerald hill and more than a kilometer of fine sand, with rocky outcrops at both ends and fabulous sunset evening after evening. From the villa you will also be able to walk or hike for miles into the rainforest hills behind and above us. Chances are you will come across families of monkeys, raccoons, squirrels and a great variety of birds.
Dominical town and the surfing actions on the main Dominical Beach are 4 km away, where you will find grocery stores, restaurants, bars and internet cafes. Within 40 minutes to the north and south are a dozen beaches or more, including the world-famous beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park. Corcovado National Park, the world's most biologically diverse spot, is 2 hours away by car and boat. You can take yoga or surfing lessons, join a horseriding tour to the waterfalls, watch whales and dolphins in the Ballena Marine National Park, hike or take a guided walk in the Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge, visit the bustling town of San Isidro and the farmers market in Uvita, which is also well known for its 'Whale's Tail' formation, made up of coral rocks and a 1-km sandbar between two beaches. We look forward to sharing with you some of our secret undiscovered spots!

San Mateo, CAGreat views, peaceful, feels like you are surrounded by nature
Left on 04/14/2013 for a stay in April 2013
The view is great, looking out over Dominicalito beach, which
is in walking distance (although it is an uphill on the way back, of course).
Quiet. I liked sitting on the patio for meals, the breezes and viewing iguanas. Two restaurants nearby (by car unless you really
like to walk). Lots of great fish served at restos; can buy fish
nearby and cook if you prefer.
Drive to Dominical for other restaurants.
Beginning surfers should go for Dominicalito
rather than Dominical beach.
Plenty of space for 3 of us.
Online description is accurate.
Rental was easily arranged. -

FLhappy memories
Left on 08/31/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Memories of sunset walks on long deserted beaches, dolphins feeding in the surf, groups of pelicans skipping over the waves, rainforest walks in the hills above the community of our villa, some of the highlights of our stay in High Palms. We enjoyed this vacation villa. We booked direct with the owner who was very helpful with advice before arriving. Nice vacation. We were very happy. Thank you to all concerned.

Enjoyed Villa High Palms very much. First time in Costa Rica so appreciated all the help along the way when making our booking before actually arriving. Accommodation was excellent, very spacious for 2, quiet and private, the pictures on the rental listing tell the story and we where not disappointed. A leaking dishwashing machine was fixed quickly, other than that no issues. For those wishing for " rain forest meets Ocean" experience, as the area is promoted as, you will not be disappointed. Wow factor for views, birdlife at eye level from the veranda, enjoyed the daily monkey parade which passed by. Great place to explore from. Would return, that's a lot said from us.

TexasComfortable home in a beautiful environment
Left on 08/04/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed in this villa for 6 nights recently. It's a nicely furnished home, we especially liked the beds, they were so comfortable. The location has a beautiful sea view, and we had complete privacy. Time spent on the veranda was really relaxing. We enjoyed many walks on the beach. It was necessary to have a car to enjoy the area, as there are many other beaches within a short drive. The shops in Dominical have limited grocery, but we were able to find everything we wanted in Uvita. This vacation home was everything we wanted. We will recommend it to anyone who needs to unwind in total comfort and privacy.

EdmontonVery relaxing vacation, great value villa close to beach, wildli
Left on 07/29/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Our first vacation in Costa Rica and we had a great time, the villa was just what we wanted near enough to everything but with some peace and quite and privacy. Easy to come and go, near to town and the shops, and as we are walkers in a good safe gated community location, ok to walk to and from as well if you are fit and want to explore the rainforest nearby. Nice and quiet, great views, the villa was everything it is promoted as being, feels wonderful and very clean and well furnished, enjoyed the evenings taking our meals on the veranda, villa looks lovely at night, with garden lights. We ate out at the Cuna Del angel hotel, very good. Not much of quality though elsewhere. Suggestions to others to visit Hacienda Baru, a private nature reserve, well worth a visit. Minor hic up with running out of relacement light bulbs was fixed the next day by onsite property manager. All very enjoyable. Thanks to Elaine (the Owner) for helping us organize this and putting up with all our questions, hope to be back but in the rainy season when it will be cooler and greener! (bit of a drought I gather this year)
