Our Villas,;Parrot & Monkey are mirror images of each other. They may be rented individually, or are ideal when rented together for groups of up to eight.
Both have an amazing view of the rainforest as it meets the Pacific Ocean in the small fishing village of Domincalito just below us. A tropical rancho (A Costa Rican covered patio with palm frond roof), terraces and a pool with swim up bar and infinity edge are shared by both villas.

This was our second trip to Costa Rica and first time to the South West Coast. Our group of four; two couples travelling for the week. The villa has just enough privacy and sroom for entertaining for us all. Great ameneties are provided with a Costa Rican taste in decor. This place has beautiful views of jungle gardens and coastline with amazing sunsets every night. Great places to visit and restaurants near by. You can even spend the day at the house and it will feel like paradise! Thank you Dean for sharing your place and big Thanks to Tim the manger on site for taking care of our requests and being very informative of the activities int he area. Truly a one of a kind stay. Please view the website and photos as it is truly what you see and read is what you get and well worth the price!

Wow. What more could you ask for. Beautiful location. Monkeys and Toucans all around. Amazing villa with all the key amenities and close to everything you need. Went zip lining and a four hour quad tour through rivers and in the jungle. Boys went fishing. Villas are well appointed, beds are extremely comfortable. We will Definitly be back!!

I am a photographer and I was very impressed by the beautiful ocean views of
Dominicalito Bay, and the surrounding natural beauty. Every day we saw toucans
and every night we saw red-eyed tree frogs. The villas are up in the hills of
Escaleras, in the rain forest/jungle. There is a steep gravel road that you need
to have an SUV to navigate. The villas are very clean & comfortable and the
infinity pool is gorgeous. There is a nice sized area on the second level to sit
outside to dine or watch over the jungle and views. It is also protected from
the rain. We shopped for food in Dominical and Uvita. Dominical is about 5
minutes north and Uvita is about 10-15 minutes south. There is a good variety of
restaurants in Dominical and most are located right on the beach. The owner Dean
was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I would highly recommend
staying at these villas for a true Costa Rican feeling of living in the jungle. -

The pictures do not do this property justice. Clean, relaxing, indulgent, and perfect! Martin is the perfect host and caretaker and the owners are responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay at Villas Escondrijo again!

Our week long stay at Villas Escondrijo was superb. The pictures presented are true to form; the architecture is truely unique, and the decor is thoughtful and classy - this is not just a regular looking house in the hills. From the moment you arrive you will feel like you are somewhere special, somewhere memorable, and somewhere that will be hard to leave. The home was spotless, with everything you would want and more. It was the little conviences like, laundry soap, garbage bags, coffee with filters, spices, that make this home stand out from other vacation rentals we have stayed in. The home is tucked away in the rain forest will all the privacy you could want, yet it is still only minutes from grocery stores, resturants, beaches, and activities - although getting up the motivation to leave the peaceful pool area with the amazing ocean views is hard. You are surrounded by lush vegitation, soothing nature sounds, and an abundance of birds and animals. Sitting in the rocking chair on the porch with a coffee in the early morning is a memory that will stay with us forever. Pure Vida!!

Wow, where do we start? It all began with meeting the managers Rosemary and Martin at the Roche Verde Restaurant right on the highway. This place is very easy to find and Martin will be there to greet you as it was Rosemary's last day when we arrived.
We followed Martin down the road a short distance and we began our trek up the mountain to our jungle retreat. He stopped on the way to show us a cenote with a rope swing that was a lot of fun as well. The local kids put on quite a show as they climb the tree really high.
We turned into the driveway of the Villa and it truly was exactly as the pictures show. Breathtaking, almost surreal after seeing the pictures on the internet and realizing we were actually there. The Villa was not only spectacular, it was so spotlesslessly clean.
The two bedrooms each open up out onto the pool, they each have their own bathrooms and are air conditioned as well as have ceiling fans. The beds are very comfortable, they each have 4 bath towels, 4 beach towels, many facecloths and hand towels, as well as a few toiletries, hair dryer and ample space and shelving etc. to store all your things. Two big closets with laundry baskets in each room with a desk and 2 end tables.
A great big window looking out to the back as you came out of your bedrooms to go upstairs allowed you to see the hill behind you and enjoy some of the butterlies. Once upstairs you were in the kitchen and living room area and another set of patio doors to a big veranda which also had 2 ceiling fans, a couch and more viewing chairs, and a table and chairs where we enjoyed our morning coffee and breakfasts. The view of the ocean and the surrounding jungle was postcard perfect. There are a lot of trees beside this balcony and it was there we saw the toucan our first morning. He sat in the big tree for about 20 minutes. Also, in the same tree on our last morning, we had a sloth which we watched for an hour or so before leaving.
There was just so much going on there as far as nature. All you needed to do was just walk about the pool area and see and hear so many animals and bugs! There is a red-eyed tree frog in the red bamboo, as well as a green tree frog. A giant toad actually jumps into the pond each evening as he has figured out to sit on the edge of the infinity pool and wait for the cicadas to come to him. The howler monkeys are heard each day as well. There are many different birds, butterflies and praying mantis' that inhabit the property. Wake up early and sit on your upper balcony with a good camera and binoculars you will be amazed at the variety of wildlife you will find if you have patience. Just remember to keep your screen doors shut so as not to let in uninvited guests...
The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you will need and more.
Having a washer and dryer, they supply the laundry detergent, was also very nice. We just really felt at home here and you were left wanting for nothing.
For anyone coming down to Dominical looking for a rental Villa, you will not regret staying here. If this is your first time in Costa Rica, well you are in for a treat! So much of the wildlife Costa Rica has to offer is right here at Villas Escondrijo.
