My husband and I and two other couples enjoyed a week in this awesome home. We were all so amazed at how perfect the house was!! Lots of hours were spent in the infinity pool. Each couple had their own space to retreat to and the living room and kitchen were terrific hang out areas. There are tons of things to do in Costa Rica, the most difficult for us was finding something that outweighed leaving the house!! Nansie and Ed were so kind and helpful - it was great being able to ask their advice on things. The house has a book of recommended activities - with comments from former guests - what a wonderful resource to have at our fingertips. We really enjoyed our trip and all of us sincerely look forward to returning again in the future.

MontrealUn coin de paradis
Left on 01/13/2013 for a stay in January 2013

What a terrific place to stay. Every inch of this house is handcrafted. The rooms are large and airy with plenty of space to get away from the rest of your group. The pool was fabulous with a beautiful view of the jungle and the ocean. Pure heaven! Ed and Nansie are fabulous hosts and made the trip flow with ease, pointing us in any direction we needed whether it was adventure, rental cars or comida! They even provided us with our own Xmas palm tree and lights. We'll be back.

Dear Ed and Nansie,
We had an amazing time at Tucan Tango. I loved swimming in your infinity turquoise blue pool, and snuggling up on your cozy melon couch watching a good movie or reading a good book. I also really enjoyed going ziplining through the tropical green jungle,
white water rafting through the big rapids, and most of all horse back riding with my awesome horse named auria. Thank you
for letting us enjoy our stay at Tucan Tango.

San Diego, CAMaking Memories -- Don't Miss It!
Left on 08/09/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Some time ago we decided we wanted to celebrate our 45th anniversary with our family in an idyllic setting-one which our grandchildren would always remember and may even tell their grandchildren about. We weren't sure that our ideal setting existed--one that would work well for two weeks-but we found it, or perhaps I should say "it" found us.
The home is large with private places. Its design is exquisite: a living room-opening onto a patio and an infinity pool-opening onto the rain forest canopy, which in turn leads down to the ocean-a 20 minute walk away.
Nature provides the show, from the distant lightening brightening the whole night sky and the tree canopy below-providing rainstorms, majestic red sunsets, cool sunny mornings surrounded by a butterfly garden, toucans chattering to each other in the trees and even the howler monkeys were claiming the territory as their own.
We never tired of things to do-from rafting, to zip lining, to horseback riding, to hiking to a nearby waterfall. The home itself is unbelievable--professionally accented with wood and art--truly a Shangri-la.
Thank you Ed and Nansie - your hard work and loving spirit have come to mean so much to us. We think our 45th anniversary celebration will live on for a couple of generations.

Ed & Nansie, Where do we begin...our trip has been incredible from start to finish... Your home is beautiful and your hospitality
over the top! Truly we feel as through we've made new friends. With your guidance (and insider information) not a day was wasted.
We loved Steve (surf instructor and masseuse) for the surf lessons followed by the best (and longest) massage's
The hidden beaches were true paradise...And the hike to the Chapman property, Diamiante Falls was an awesome experience,
not to be missed--with two waterfalls, breath-taking views, a very vertical hike (not for sissies) lunch in the caves and propelling off the falls...eight hours in all. Ask for Felipe as your guide!
Zulay's meal was incredible--a Costa Rican feast that we ate for days.
Having the two of you near was perhaps the best part, an amenity of sorts. Your helpful hints and knowledge
not to mention trouble shooting made our vacation for nine a vacation even for the parents.
There is no doubt that we will be back to Tucan Tango as there is still so much to explore in your beautiful
country.

We rented this incredible Villa for 5 glorious days in March 2012. Let me just say that I have mixed feelings about putting this review out there, because then the secret will be out that the most exquisite rental property in all of Costa Rica is available and I won’t be able to get in! For anyone out there that is searching for a rental in southern Puntarenas, Dominical, Uvita, Manual antonio area just stop right here because you’ve found it! This is not just a home, it is truly a work of art. From the lovely hand-carved doors depicting monkeys and hummingbirds, to the whimsical hand-painted tiles of toucans having fun, to the delightfully creative layout of the house itself and the magnificent vistas from every room, to the beautiful furnishings which are no less comfortable than they are stunning, to the glorious gardens and walkways, to the incredible, incredible pool, to the superb flower arrangements containing every color imaginable and hiding in every corner, to the best property owners you could ever ask for, Ed and Nansie Benton. I could go on forever… I walked in the front door upon arrival and looked out over the amazing infinity pool which seemed to melt into the blue Pacific and I just had to stand still for a moment to catch my breath. Ed and Nansie are just incredibly wonderful and kind people who want nothing more than to share their Costa Rican dream with you and make your time in Dominical the best that it can possibly be… and honestly, it really can’t get much better than the experience we’ve just had. Fair warning - think about all the excursions and adventures you’ve already booked for your time in this area because once you enter the incredible paradise that is Villa Tucan Tango, you will not want to leave!

Our stay here was just wonderful!
Everyday the girls walked on the beach as the guys were catching the waves. The afternoons spent at the pool-catching some sun and
enjoying a margarita or two!
We enjoyed wings & margarita's at Jolly Rogers and the guys went back and played poker on Saturday night. The Refuge "home of the
best burgers in Dominical." The roadhouse 169 also has something happening almost every night. Music, movies, and passion fruit pie you could die for.
The Confusion restaurant down from the refuge has a great selection of food to choose from. We tried a new place for pizza- Costa Marira
at Playa Carman.. Excellent!
Zulay cooked us a wonderful meal for a 40th anniversary Celebration.
Nansie we enjoyed your company and just to let you know your Tripod Calendar 2012 will be going to the Ophir checkpoint on the Iditarod Trail for the 2012
seed Dog Race.
What a great new, wonderful home, and friendly atmosphere you have here. Thanks again for a perfect way to spend a 40th wedding anniversary and someones 62nd birthday.
Hope to see you again next year & hopefully more of our family members will come visit.
P.S We loved Tango the wonder dog.. "Better then any toucan or monkey as he does tricks"

Each place we stayed in C.R was better then the last. So Villa Toucan Tango was the perfect final stop. Even with all the wonderful tours to experience we found it difficult to leave the house... it was an excursion of it's own. The architecture and decorating and attention to detail were 5 stars in any book. The pool had a awesome infinity edge, and the view truly was second to none. Thank you so much Ed & Nansie for the amazing experience in your incredible house.

Ed & Nansie...the most gracious & knowledgable hosts you could want traveling to a foreign country. From the 1st greeting on our arrival day to our sad goodbye they were there to answer questions, make suggestions & be sure we had everything we needed. (Thanks for the mini fan Nansie!)
what a house! Truly fabulous! Lots of room for 2 families with 4 adults & 4 teenage boys. The pool was refreshing & fun. First thing we did was jump in & enjoy the swim up bar. Plenty of bedrooms & baths. We also rented the "casita" close to the house so we had even more room. The decor was everything Costa Rica. Lots of bright colors, beautiful woods, paintings, stone work, & comfy beds. The landscaping was enchanting with lovely flowers & plants. The house is secluded enough in the jungle you don't see neighbors. Perfect!!
The location of Villa Tucan Tango is awesome. Just a short drive from Dominical village with easy access to restaurants & stores. Centrally located to tours we chose to do & beaches. Nansie set us up with Richard. He was fabulous helping us with transport from San Jose airport to Villa Tucan Tango & also in setting up rental 4x4's. He even arranged to have the vehicles dropped off & picked up at Villa Tucan Tango! Convenient!
The view! Although there are many things we loved about Villa Tucan Tango the view from the pool is the absolute best! From the infinity pool you look out over the jungle canopy & see the ocean in the distance. You can even see waves breaking on shore. The lush jungle canopy surrounds you, leaving you feeling peaceful and content. It's definitely a "sigh" moment.
One evening, Zulay, a maid for Villa Tucan Tango, prepared a delicious Costa Rican meal. From taking her shopping for the ingredients, enjoying mouthwatering smells as she cooked, to sitting down & eating it was a wonderful experience.
Even the geckos, assortment of bugs & jungle noises were all part of a lifetime memory at Villa Tucan Tango.

You've got a real gem here! Carved out of the hills between the surf towns of Dominical and Uvita is your beautiful slice of Heaven! We thank you so much for sharing your home and letting us live Pura Vida. It will be very hard to drive away from Tucan Tango and leave that gorgeous view that gave us amazing sunsets every day. The house is a work of art that I will never forget. The small details like the inlaid wood in the stairs & beautiful carvings on the doors make this Villa something out of a fairy tale. We couldn't have asked for a better place to escape from the city life of the U.S. The combination of laid back lifestyle, amazing local food and the lack of dense tourism make Dominical a place that I hope few discover so we can always return to this magical place we fell in love with.
The week was one for the books, blue sky days, one after the other and excursions that found us zipping through the rainforest, boating through mangroves and battling surf off the coast of Corcovado. We got pounded surfing at Playa Hermosa, and pounded by surf at Playa Dominicalito. We spent the final day with our eyes trained on the water, wondering if the Japanese Tsunami would make land fall. The vacation ended with our final sunset followed by dinner at Coconut Spice, a real diamond of Dominical.
As I lazily swing from the hammock, belly full, and spirit soaring, I penned this note to put the final cap on our journey! We return to Philadelphia tomorrow but we will leave something here forever, in this slice of Heaven called Tucan Tango.
Pura Vida to all, and to all a good night!

We found Villa Tucan Tango through my father-in-law & how fortunate were we!? When we approached the large house I assumed it was the owners “personal” home. To my surprise it was the vacation rental!? As all four of us walked through the main door we were greeted by the canopy of the Rainforest & onward to a view of the ocean that was unbelievably breathtaking. Literally, we all gasped in unison.
The doors of the home are striking, each with a unique carving of wildlife. The staircase, the high bamboo ceilings, the roominess of every room, the colour theme, the glass tiles, the spa themed showers, the infinity pool, seriously, it goes on & on. And the kitchen was spacious with everything we needed was at our fingertips! The owners Nansie & Ed are absolutely lovely & so helpful. Really, I can’t say enough. How does one describe perfection!? That is what I felt about the stay at Villa Toucan Tango. We got very lucky to have discovered this tropical paradise where everything was perfect and first class without any snootiness. We felt totally at home in this gorgeous hideaway above the treetops with glorious views of the Pacific coast and each sunset topped the one before- but the first one was exquisite. Watching the wildlife in the trees while sipping margaritas in the infinity pool, listening to music, eating tree-ripened papayas, mangoes, pineapples and more, in this totally romantic nirvana is my ideal vacation. The indoor/outdoor showers are most wonderful in the master suites and the furnishings at least as comfortable as at home. The fully furnished home with great room/kitchen made me want to stay forever.
Highly recommend this place for anyone - romantics or families with kids.
