Milton Keynes, England, United KingdomAmazing place to stay!
Left on 11/20/2012 for a stay in October 2012
A large group of us stayed at Chateau de Sadillac as friends of ours were getting married nearby. We did hire a car as you need to be able to get about, however its only a 15 minute max drive from the airport and very easy to find.
The chateau is amazing, very spacious and very well equipped for a large group whether this be family or friends you will not be in each others way. Not all the bedrooms are ensuite but there is a family size bathroom and a washbasin in the rooms.
Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so we didnt get as much use out of the pool as we would have liked but in the summer months I can imagine the pool is used daily!
The men in our group certainly had fun trying out their golf skills!
I would most definitely recommend staying at here to friends and family, we had a fabulous long weekend and hope to return soon.Response from Hielko Pieksma - 12/04/2012

One week is almost too short to enjoy all the possibilities of this wonderful Golf Chateau Périgord. Our whole family (6 months till 72) was busy with swimming, fishing, playing golf, tabletennis, etc.. What an unforgettable week: we all want to come back again and again.

Chalford, United KingdomFantastic property, beautiful area, highly recommended
Left on 10/15/2012 for a stay in September 2012
The property is an absolute stunner, the pictures simply don't do it justice. We travelled as a group of 15 friends, a mixture of couples and singles and we are already planning our trip back next year. The owners are really helpful, quick to respond, and live 15 minutes from the chateau in case of any issues.
There is plenty to do at the property, and within the surrounding area - Bergerac is particularly good for eating out, the market at Eymet is also well renowned. As you would expect, wine from the local region is both cheap and high quality - the Bordeaux reds especially!
On-site Golf Course is great fun for beginners and quality golfers alike and the swimming pool / sauna is fantastic value.
All in all we would highly recommend Chateau de Sadillac to groups of families / friends and anyone looking for a French retreat.Response from Hielko Pieksma - 11/24/2012

Excellent week in our castle in Sadillac.
Better than the pictures on the website.
Most of the time we lived outside: in the garden, on the golfsite, around the swimmingpool, so we did not enjoy the rich facilities of the building.
Sleeping, washing, kitchen facilities were almost perfect.
Gee, this is the place for a fine family meeting. -

What can we say? The hosts were attentive and helpful-the accommodation was clean, very comfortable and steeped in history-the pool, sauna, golf course, and fishing lake made for a perfect family holiday. The location was a short drive from Eymet and Bergerac both of which were charming towns with lots of resteraunts to choose from. Thank you Hetty and Hielko for a fabulous holiday. We would recommend anyone to stay in your beautiful chateau. They won't be dissappointed.

Left on 09/13/2011 for a stay in June 2011
We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful place in June this year (2011). Hielko and Hetty were fantastic hosts at their stunning Chateau.
The Chateau is full of character with lovely bedrooms and outdoor space is fab. We had great fun with games (table tennis) and the swimming pool is perfect.
Lots of fun was to be had on the 9 hole golf course and a few casts in the lovely lake for fishing.
The meal cooked by our very accommodating hosts was truly fantastic! What a fun night that was!
We are certainly going to be taking another trip as we had such a great time. I thoroughly recommend this Chateau to anyone, friends, families, etc etc. Beautiful!!!Response from Hielko Pieksma - 09/13/2011

Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in August 2011
Chateau Sadillac is a beatiful old castle close to Bergerac. The area has much to offer and it is a pleasure to return to the castle, which has plenty of space and nice rooms. For golf players a nice 9 holes course is part of the rental. It is great to practise your short game. Around the castle is a nice big garden to relax and a pool to cool down when the sun is out. Everything is well maintained and the owners pop in every now and then to mow the gras, water the greens and perhaps some other minor maintanance. This is not irritating as we hardly noticed them being around. We had a great time and we recommend this house for groups up to 10 people.

Den HaagFantastisch kasteel in prachtige omgeving
Left on 06/19/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Left on 05/08/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We have booked the Chateau de Sadillac with 8 adults and 2 children for one week in May 2011.
Sometimes photo's on the internet give an accurate description of a holiday location. Sometimes they don't. But very rarely the holiday location is much better than the photo's. In the case of Sadillac, this is it.
Very nice 11th century building in a very little village with aprox. 8 houses. Own private heated swimmingpool. Own 9 holes par 27 golfcourse, very well maintained. Nice bedrooms, enough bathrooms, spacious kitchen.
The children could play on the trampoline or on the terrace.
Trips to Chateau de Monbazillac (wine tasting), Saint Emilion (wine tasting), canoeing on the Dordogne river, visitting the old village of Bergerac. Or just swimming in our own pool or playing golf on our own golfcourse. What a luxury!
In Holland we have the phrase "Living like God in France" , the best translation I found on the Net is "Living the life of Riley".
Hielko & Hetty, see you again in Sadillac!
