Casita Corcovado - the tropical beach house

Awake to the sounds of red lored parrots and the waves lapping on the beach. Just a stone's throw to the beach, Casita Corcovado is a unique 3 bedroom, 1 bath modernized "tico" home. Views of the Bay can be seen from the front 2 bedrooms, while a garden view is seen from the 3rd bedroom. During the season, you may see whales from the front porch. Scarlet macaws frequently are seen in front of the house.

We live on property, so are there to answer any questions you may have, book your tours, or attend to your needs in general. We have lived in the village for 10 years and can make you feel like you have also! Whether you speak Spani...sh or not, we can help you get acquainted with your surroundings.

While tropical and remote, the small hamlet is conveniently located to restaurants, grocery, and bar. The people of the village are very friendly and helpful, even if your Spanish is less than perfect.

Casita Corcovado is kid friendly. The yard, gardens, and wildlife excite, while giving a friendly, safe enviroment for your family.

The house is newly renovated with local hardwoods and tiled floors. A full private, outdoor kitchen is adjacent to a garden patio for your dining pleasure. Or, just relax in the hammocks as the mountain breezes blow.

Each of the 3 bedrooms have a deluxe, queen sized bed made of exoctic woods, air conditioning and a fan. Bronzed windows and screens accent the rooms.

The bathroom is large, with bright tile, and hot water shower.

Wifi and housekeeping are included in the rental.

Drake Bay is home to world class sportfishing, the best snorkeling and scuba diving in Costa Rica, and has been noted as being the most biointense place on planet Earth (NatGeo). All available tours can be scheduled with the on property managers at no additional charge.

Additional Location Information

Located in the small village of Agujitas (better known as Drake Bay), the house is across from the Parque Jaquares. We are centrally located in the village. No need for a car here. You are 3 minutes to the beach, restaurants, groceries, bars, etc.

  I had a reservation for 10 days and stayed 19. I had to leave because they had previous reservations made for my room. It was more like family than a B&B. The breakfasts were great and the tours they either recommended or ran themselves were always beyond my expectations. The house is clean and ideally located. Drakes Bay is a charming place.

  On the spur of the moment we decided to take a Costa Rican friend to Drake Bay but our "fancy" hotel was booked up. Our travel agent in San Jose, My Costa Rica, found lodging for him at Casita Corcovado. It was so reasonable I assumed it must be yucky. When we stopped by to see what sort of place it was, we were a bit envious. We're thinking, we're paying way more and this place is way nicer. We ended up walking away from the other place (too hot, stuffy, and a bit dirty) and staying at Casita Corcovado. Craig and Jamie are great hosts and the accomodations they provide are truly the best in Drake Bay. We've been to Drake Bay 5 times and stayed at several places. I'd really like to keep it a secret but Craig and Jamie deserve a great review because they bust their butts to provide a clean, comfortable, and cool (yes, A/C!) place to stay at a very reasonable price. Don't like the B&B; type setting or sharing a bath?? No problem, rent the whole house. It's still a bargain. That's what we're doing on our next visit and we're really looking forward to it!
